I just hope they're not trying to make a second season😭
Me too….aside from her autism, there isn’t much there to develop on for a second season, especially if KTO is going to the military. I just hope they wrap up this drama nicely, even if they plan on a second season. I don’t like open endings.

With two episodes left, we have lots of unresolved situations:

1. Mom-daughter
2. CEO-mom-daughter
3. Attorney Jung’s illness
4. Min-woo redemption character
5. MW-SY potential love line
6. JH-YW break up and get back together
7. She still hasn’t seen the dolphins yet!!

I hope they just focus on these situations in the last two episodes. No more new characters or cases. Just focus on these and it won’t be so rushed.

All I just wanted to say is that I hope that so called break up scene is earlier in the episode so they can make up by the end of the episode. Otherwise it’ll be tortured to wait till next week. I doubt they will break up, more like a hiccup in their relationship. She has every rights to feel insecure so it’ll have to be JH that comes and make things right for her. Remember, she’s always running away from him because even though she likes him, she’s also scared too. She’s always looking for reassurance from him that he still likes her and willing to go through with a relationship with her. In that episode where they kissed by his apartment, she said it must be hard to love someone like her and if he was still going to try. He responded yes. I’m sure things will be ok guys. He clearly is smitten by her and won’t leave her.

The worst part (besides the obvious MW being trash the ENTIRE series) is that we didn't have any buildup for SY…
I agree too…this is why I wished this drama was longer so we have more character developments for the others.

This drama is like a breath of fresh air. I love that each episode has its own story and we are not stuck with the whole storyline for 16 episodes. Although this is the kind of drama I wish it was pushed back to 20 episodes as we still need more time for character developments of the other side characters. Plus there is that mom-daughter situation too. PEB is such an awesome actress, I was loving her in the King’s Affection but this drama super exceed my expectations of her. Before, I never really paid attention to KTO but he’s soooooo good in this drama too. His facial expressions and eyes really show how much he cares for her. He’s so sincere and patient with her and he just absolutely is whipped by her. He is definitely an actor to look out for when he returns from his military enlistment. And as for PEB, she is someone you cannot miss out on her dramas. I’m so thankful they both participated in this drama. My healing drama from 2521.

Jun Ho is a strong man. No one is on his side regarding his relationship but he never gives up and just follows…
I agree, the one thing about these two are they are in their own little world with each other. JH has been so patient and sincere with his feelings for her since episode 1 so I don’t expect him to drop her just cause others are telling him to. And YW, she has live her whole life with just her father and BF by her side so having a caring boyfriend is all new to her. She is used to people judging her because of her condition so she might push JH back but I’m sure he will hang on tight. It’s too late for a break up trope anyway. Lol

This was a great drama, cried every single episode. The ending was good, wish they had added one more episode so we get to see more of JW after he woke up, see more of GR and PJG interactions after finding out about their past. Their meeting when she went to see him during his punishment was kind of flat…I was expecting more emotions from GR since she’s the one that remembered their past. Anyhow, I didn’t expect them to get together or have any sort of relationship since their ties to each other was broken. He was just someone that has her husband’s face.

Seriously though, it’s about time Lee Soo Hyuk gets his own lead drama.

NJH & KTR are going to do commentary together along with the writer for the blu-ray premium dvd boxset. Which…
Yeah, I saw interviews from the others but so far NJH has been quiet without any post interview. KTR is an outstanding actress, she deserves all the good things coming her way. Her post interview helped me a little to get over the ending of the drama, it’s good to know that she also would have wanted baekdo to end up together too. I am also looking forward to her other projects, I’m sure she will be getting projects left and right now. She’s also such a good co-star, she understood we all are sad so she said a lot of nice things about NJH, lol. I’m not a shipper of couples, so I hope they maintain a good friendship with each other after this drama.

I’m surprised there aren’t a lot of BTS videos and the shows the cast went on to promote aren’t all full videos. Plus we don’t see a lot of promotion from KTR and NJH before and after the drama is done. Compare to like his previous dramas, there are so many bts of him with his costars, lots of full videos of promotion, etc. It’s like 2521 came and went by like a memory….lol. I’m so glad to hear NJH is considering s new drama before his enlistment. Ending 2521 the way it did left a big hole in my heart and I’m looking forward to watching his next drama. I’m ready to move on from 2521….

What is funny is that Minchae now knows what is the meaning behind her mom’s shop’s name, why her mom is driving a red car, the rainbow chairs, and all the little details that pertain to BYJ. Seriously….not sure what the writer was trying to achieve with all these things in the present timeline that screams Baekdo love.

The only person who won in all of this is Yurim, girl got to save her family from financial ruin, continue to win medals, end up with her first love, and also got to continue teaching fencing. Something I would have expected coming from HD’s character as she is the main lead.

It felt like the writer was cutting the branches of the tree which itself she was sitting. But what astonishes…
I’m sure the actors and director were also aware of the disparity in the character development, which was why they gave it their all towards the end. If the viewers can pick up on it, I’m sure they themselves also pick up on the sudden change too. It was just the writing itself, it was not executed well towards the end. Ugh, I’m still upset….great director, great cast, great love line, just messy ending. This drama was as close to a masterpiece drama except the ending just didn’t resonate well with me.

I agree too….I think Taeri and Joo Hyuk really made this drama their own, like it took on a different direction from the writing itself. Such a pity with the ending, it could have been wrapped up nicely if it wasn’t so rushed or it could have ended on a happier note end even if they didn’t end up together. The writing for the first 14 episodes didn’t quite match up with the ending, it was like a 180 direction to just end it at all cost even if the writing was sloppy in that last episode.

I thought the placing of that scene was kind of weird….I didn’t quite get how HD was able to find someone she could have loved more than BYJ in that short timespan, have a marriage and baby, and still continue to be winning gold medals. Not that it’s impossible, but it’s just out of character for HD. It’s like the writer is really trying to remove all potential opportunities for them to be together.

From my understanding, Taeri already knew what the storyline is about but I think the writing itself was still in the process so they are acting out the script as it’s being written. Which was why in one of her interview, she said she asked the writer to change the ending. A lot of times, actors sign onto a drama but the storyline sometimes get changed half way or the ending changes so it’s not always a sure thing. She did pick a good drama with this one though, the writing up till episode 14 was very good and the directing was amazing. If you take away the director and the actors, I’m not sure if the storyline itself would have been this popular if you look at the overall storyline. NJH made a lot of changes to his character, which might have sway the audience since his character was suppose to be cold and introvert but he portrayed it differently. And Taeri really brought to life HD’s character. It’s the amazing chemistry and directing that really tug at our heart because who knows when we will get another Taeri/Joo Hyuk pairing again with this kind of love storyline.

The drama is great that it resonate a lot of different opinions and views since we all grew up with different experiences. While some accept the ending as is, there are others like me that don’t and I’m glad to know I’m not the only one, lol. I’m not saying that it has to be baekdo endgame, I’m all about sad endings too but I absolutely don’t like endings that are rushed and make no sense….which is what I got with this drama’s ending. I love reading those commentaries you posted, reminds me of my years in high school writing character analysis for my literature class.

Like ep 1-13, maybe also 14, are 10 out of 10. Then the writer got obsessed with the break up trope and things…
Right….honestly, what I got out of the drama at the end was that she lives in regrets for losing him. Why is she driving a red car, naming her shop 2521, have rainbow chairs in her shop, keeps her diary of her first love…if she has a husband and happy marriage, she should be focusing on her happy moments with him instead of still living in memories of BYJ. But I think the biggest regret was that even if they broke up, she lost her dearest best friend. How do you still send your support to each other if you don’t even communicate all those years? Makes no sense to me, LOL. So yeah, big regrets on losing not only your first love but your best friend because you both didn’t try hard enough to protect your love and friendship. I get it, sometimes first love or even strong love doesn’t last but if you have a strong friendship, at least check in on each other once in awhile. And don’t even get me started on BYJ’s ending……

Again, still love this drama and I’m blocking everything that happened after that suitcase market scene. Minchae doesn’t exist since older HD isn’t Kim Tae Ri, LOL. I think it’ll be awhile before I move on from this drama. Truly is one of my top drama but the ending was too traumatic for me to rewatch it. I’ll try again when the pain of episode 16 wears off, LOL.

Title Twenty Five Twenty One Spoiler
I put this on hold after ep 12 since I got a strong feeling that the drama is getting more melodramatic, but finally…
I agree with you all….their first big fight and the writer didn’t even give them a chance to have the fight. It was just ā€œlet’s go straight to the break upā€ kind of deal. People said the break up was justified and the drama ended well that way…but for me, it doesn’t. For a love that is built on such a strong foundation like theirs, even if it didn’t survive their first break up, would have made it back to each other again. You don’t find that kind of love and let it go that easily without fighting for it. When they hugged that last time, the fact that they made a run to each other meant they still care enough for each other. So for me personally, the drama should have ended with them going their own way, becoming successful in their career choices, and then coming back together again when they are more mature. It made no sense for the writers to throw a marriage and a baby at HD in the middle of her fencing career and then also made her looked so sad when she saw BYJ in 2009. Then to have older HD still living in memories of the past…..it just screams regrets to me. But overall, episodes 1-15 were awesome. I love this drama so much, I’m still not over it. I hope we get another Kim Tae Ri and Nam Joo Hyuk pairing in the future but I know the chances are slim since korean actors rarely work together again.

I don’t think that was the intention of this post. I think the poster is saying that the writer should not be given all the credit for this drama because it is the actors themselves that brought to life the storyline…thus the popularity of the drama. From the BTS, I gathered the actors and directors themselves made a lot of improvisons to the characters.

At first I praised 2521 writer, but I think we are giving the writer too much praise. More accolades should be…
KTR mentioned in an interview that the BYJ in the script was different from the one played by NJH. I think the writer have their own idea about the script but as the acting and directing started, I think the chemistry from the actors really made the love story deepen. As the popularity soar, I think it’s too late for the writer to change the storyline since Minchae’s last name was already introduced at the beginning. So they really corner themselves by starting off with the present and then going back to the past…less flexibility to change anything. And there are flaws in the storyline but due to the awesome acting, directing, and editing of the production team, the drama as a whole was great. I think the writer will probably have some regret…can you imagine the amount of $$$ this drama would have generated if the ending was a happy one? This is the first drama I’ve seen were so many viewers are emotionally attached to the characters.
