The only good thing about GeonOh's fate is that his father is actually suffering. DIE MFer, DIE! And he pressures MinSoo into confession but won't confess himself! The bastard! I hope he gets a true kdrama ending.

Otherwise, I am also really glad they're keeping pretty faithful to the novel. I was afraid they'd get NaGyeom out of that day's happenings or something... but nope. We're going full on true betrayal and I'm here for every second of it.

P. S. For a respected actress, NaGyeom/DeokMi really didn't convince JeongWoo, you can see it on his face.

Black Out deserves the hype - recommended to anyone who wants to watch a good thriller.

A bit dated, but wow, one of the most different than usual endings for such a drama. I quite liked it.

This was my first Oguri Shun drama, and he can be quite intense but I kept looking over to Aoki Munetaka, LOL (I've known him from the RuroKen series of movies).

The rest of the cast is quite good too - there must've been something in the water mid-2010s, there were so many good dramas with police stories, and this one is one of them. I just wish there were more eps (I know about the sequel and the spin-off, I just wanted more like this).

The stories got darker toward the end of the drama, with more cases getting unsatisfactory (for the police officers and the watchers) endings, but it was good. And now it's the middle of the night and I have to decide if I can watch the sequel immediately or it can wait til tomorrow LOL. Such is life.

Maybe there's a secret family curse and Uncle Somkid only wants to protect Home. Then Suradech is an exorcist under disguise or something and they develop a beautiful friendship :D

Nah, all she's thinking is "how is this my life now". I'm loving her, I want her and PangPang to go on adventures together more than I want to see Home and Peach set up a ghostbusting business together LOL.

This is not the usual type of BL, this is more noir but with gay characters. Or bi, at least. Don't go in expecting romance, though there are happier bits in it, and if they manage to go through the whole manga - I doubt it - there should be a HE. But they don't get there being cutesy and lovey-dovey.

Tyme's whole timeline is the reality. He gets to rewind a few bits, but mostly his own reality is what actually happened. Which also makes all other rewinds moot and that's why the plot needs you to just take it in and don't think about it.

The out-of-the-blue lovestory to die for between Ton Kla and Korn doesn't really make sense though. Korn had a fiancee, and he INTENDED to marry her to the end, before she chucked him out. How does it figure he's ready to kill himself because Ton Kla died?! And that after Ton Kla confessed to shooting his brother?! (And the cop character is totally lame.)

Then it's not really clear which timeline we're actually following to the end - I mean, it APPEARS to be Tyme's as he's the one from the first scene and the one getting ROSC in time before his 4 minutes are up (just as I had suspected and people shot me down because of reasons), but what about the scene where Great is lying in his own blood next to his mother who also got shot and that's from Great's own timeline that he was rewinding, not from reality. So that was either another try at mindfuck or just a slip-up from the production team.

TBH I kind of think a sad ending (where at least one of them dies) would have fit the series better. But this one's not really all that bad, all things considered. Not amazing, but not bad either.

For a "sultry" series, though, all we got was a lot of sex scenes with a second lead character and in the second half of the drama, not a lot of time for the main leads to even be together in an episode except for parts of the last one. That part was underwhelming.

All praise goes to cinematography though - and the OP music are very good. I would watch the leads in some other series if they make one together.

The pros: beautiful cinematography, excellent thriller in the first part, very good looking leads. It looked like it was going somewhere. The soundtrack (and by that I only mean the BGM) is very good, too.

The cons: the second half feels intentionally disjointed, 4 eps presented 4 different takes on the same timeline, the ending seems a bit forced (though most of the threads were tied).

But I must say it - the MDL experience on this drama's comments section is a bit of a turnoff for me.

There might be some confusion stemming from what the drama changed compared to the novel, because a lot of the characters are switched around. For example, the doctor in the novel is the wife of the politician and in the drama it's the other way around. There is not just one police officer but two, and the second one is a woman (she's the most important in clearing up (novel) GJW's accusations, as the man is indeed mostly occupied with his marriage's dissolution. )

The novel is pretty short, I'd reccomend reading it, BUT it does already differ enough from the drama that it's not really needed TBH. I prefer the drama - they're focusing on GJW and his struggle, while the novel is the regular police story with two main characters that are police officers (and in the middle of a pretty long series, to boot).

This is obviously an adaptation so they CAN (and already did) change many things from the original source. But I don't think they'll change something so important, since HS is supposed to be one of the two GJW's supporters in that town, and in the original she survives.

The novel doesn't go beyond the two murders from ten years back, so maybe the drama won't have more people die, either, LOL.

And SuOh.

TBH, I don't quite like the novel all that much, though I don't hate it either. It's either something lost in translation, or NN really does have a writing style that's way too pragmatic for my taste (maybe it feels a bit mechanical at some points).

I particularly don't like the way she introduces new characters, no matter their importance or roles (full name, full job position, something they feel about the discussion in case, or something they're doing at random before being involved in the main story. And then, some of the really unimportant ones never appear again. It's like she made a list of these minor characters, got them detailed descriptions, and never thought all those details have no impact on the story and aren't really necessary to the reader.) After the first two or three times she did it, it became rather predictable and homework-like and kept taking me out of the story.

I only read this one, too, I don't know if the other novels in the series are TLed into English so can't compare this case with any other case these two police persons were part of before (or after). For me, the drama is better, focusing on the character with the most impact on the viewer, rather than on the police work (that also differs a lot from what German officers would do instead), considering the main character who is a police officer in the drama doesn't even exist in the novel either, but takes on bits of the two MCs in the novel.

So far, this is a very good adaptation, keeping the heart of the story and fleshing it out in a very SK way and making it distinct from its very European roots.

I don't know what they're talking about in that section. There is no other murder that's going to happen in the book. Maybe they're talking about the disappearance of one (and then the second) person involved with the original accused MC, which almost spurs on another witch hunt for him, who is immediately blamed for the (first one's) disappearance.

There is, however, another (accidental) death but it's at the end of the novel.
