Sooooo.... His friend who's now dead was involved in some pretty shady things, his friend's friends are probably who had him killed, I'm going to assume there's some OTHER gang than the usual crack/MJ dealing gang they just got rid of that is now moving in with their extra-extra better drug and that the other gang's members have targeted Inspector Jang because 1. he's the dead man's friend and also a detective in the Narcotics or / and 2. because he just became the face of the anti-drug fight in that city.

Questions:

- WHY THE HECK does an actual detective NOT report his gun being stolen?! That has to be the drugs. Because obviously that man will use it, and the ballistics WILL tell whose gun that was. Come on, JaeKyung-yah!

- do NOT tell me that girl they're both going ga-ga over in that flashback is the current shady no-conscience reporter girl!! They have such a serious bromance vibe going on I actually wondered if the production team wants to go with some more innuendos about their original relationship (since Jang JaeKyung is 36 and still unmarried and no actual relationships of that kind on the radar either...)

First impression: this really does remind me of the French Connection (the summary did, too). I hope against hope it won't end with "main character death" tags all over the drama, LOL. That would make me SO mad. Let's have Ji Sung treat us to a gritty noir-vibe drama that actually ends in a HE. Or at least in a HFN. Do NOT let the character die or be completely blackened, production team, or there'll be words and / or thrown hands!!

So far so good. Gimme that police bromance, people, I want it!!

PS DAMN that man looks FINE!!!!! I'm buying he's just 36, if I was certain slimming down actually makes you look younger, I'd get on that treadmill like nobody's business (but it sadly seems to only work for Asian people who already have great ossature and pretty faces *sigh*)

And final initial impression note, I'm glad they went with a younger actor for his school days. No de-aging effects will make him look as a highschool kid, so other dramas - please take note. There are plenty of talented newbies, make use of them!

That's a pretty explosive first episode. I guess I'm here to stay.

No, in the novel his old body is dead (in a landslide, not a filming accident, but still, he's dead), and he remains in this new body after that. The new body's "other" Joe's soul is gone when "our" Joe gets to wake up in it.

If it's any consolation, though, it looks like they're really going to follow the novel close, which means Joe's old friends all find out who he is way sooner than Ming does, LOL.

So... I haven't seen the whole drama (obviously), so all I have going on is the novel's plot. In the novel, Joe remains in his new body, since his old one is dead. The finding of his old body is the start of the end reveal of the story.

Other than that, we'll have to wait and see IF and HOW the drama does it. It's an adaptation, they can decide to do their own thing.

As for what the spoiler is for - well, it is a spoiler.

Not if they follow the novel (they did so far.) Finding the body is the start of the climax of the story, actually.

Yeah, that's a totally schyzo episode, LOL. Starts in heartbreak and ends in slapstick :D

IIRC in the novel it's Ming who discovers Joe breaking in and then their mutual benefits deal eventually happens. I also don't really remember if the money issue preceded the mom's illness - they might not have her get ill in the drama at all, who knows. 3 million Baht seems like a lot already.

I also don't really remember a Secretary Jim character in the novel, but it might be there is one and didn't really register with me, which is very possible.

This ep was SO GOOD!! I love Joe and mom together, he was a freaking orphan and takes to her like a duckling to a mother duck gathering all orphaned ducklings on the lake, LOL. She's so sweet, and he's so sweet to her in turn, they're PRECIOUS!!!!!!!

Shoutout to Wut, he also cares a lot. I can't wait for the moment Joe decides to open up and tell the truth, Wut will go on the defense like no one's business :D

Ahh, this drama is a true gem, I can't believe a totally abusive, dog-blood novel can make such a great drama!!

Eh, finally some minor changes that might not be too minor, depending on how it goes. It still works perfectly in-drama world :D

I was smiling throughout most of the episode - Joe and his (adopted by him) mom are everything in this story. Also, him and Wut are beautiful to watch - Wut really did care a lot about Joe, and still does now. I did a woot!! when he invited Joe home, I knew the twin talk would seed the doubt more, LOL. Joe isn't a superspy, LOL, he doesn't know how to hide.

Also LOL @Ming being whitewashed through most of the episode, what with pining over Joe and all, and then he STILL manages to revert back to character while threatening Joe hahaha~ He's such a scum gong, the worst of them and I love it that they aren't even trying (at least not so far) so make him more palatable :D

Can I take wannabe spy Secretary Jim home? :D He's also cute. And quite devious, errr, efficient. And cute, did I mention cute? I propose him as a match for Sol, since Sol is back in the picture :D

This has zero plot or conflict, things just happen around the charas. If it wasn't soothing to watch something totally undemanding, there'd be no incentive to even look at it, LOL.

You know that moment when you're kind of unconsciously obsessed with an OST of a drama you're watching, but you didn't really pay attention to the songs when they're announcing their release?

So I got that itch today for one of the songs and had to sit through the whole OST list to find out which one was it - again, without looking at the titles, LOL... It turns out it's "A Day" and it's JongHo singing it.

I mean, OBVIOUSLY why I got obsessed LOL.

Any other Atiny around? WHERE do they announce this, if anywhere? It's not on KQ channel or even their own, not on YT anyway. Did he (or any other one of them) sing any other OSTs other than Gravity? I need answers. For science.

He faked his death (used drugs to get himself into a coma). The cop in the morgue was his helper - he's the one bringing him back to her. He needed to make JungMin, SungJo, the org, everybody, truly believe that he's finally dead, so he could control their actions.

The cop who's helping him only told JiAhn there's an autopsy report, he didn't actually show her, and his body always was covered so you couldn't see if there's an actual Y cut on his torso that would prove that an autopsy actually took place.

He basically fooled everyone into believing he's gone.

Drama magic is the right term, LOL. That's what's annoying me, TBH, though - if we're left to pick our own explanations, then the original plot isn't either clear enough, or actually all that well thought out so that there's no misunderstanding.

I've watched way too many time-travel dramas and movies and anime dealing with time paradoxes (one of my all-time favourite anime is actually Steins:Gate, the best time paradox anime ever IMHO), and I can pick my own plot to subread, that they end up not explaining. But I still think it's lazy writing, because not everybody is a scifi buff and maybe some of them actually want the whole story to make sense on its own, even if they're not familiar with all the tropes.

SunJae has NO business knowing/dreaming/remembering things that - for him - NEVER happened. Neither do all the rest of the charas who seem to remember. She deleted everything so there are no possible memories except for hers. Or so would logic say. Then again, drama magic - especially in a rom-com - can do whatever it wants.

But SunJae has no actual reason to have deja-vus OR dreams about a past that never was. He never LIVED those moments, if she erased the whole past after they DIDN'T meet. That's the whole point.

For a rom-com reason, it doesn't need an explanation, but TBH it does detract from what it was building in the first 13 eps. I expected something that ends up with its own inner logic, like W or Someday or One Day, but I guess not (or not yet, hopefully.)

Yeah, with yesterday's ep I got really grouchy for a long time - EVERYTHING they built is being erased but hey, it's time-travel and rom-com so it doesn't need inner logic. LOL.

Now we get to pick and decide for ourselves exactly which part of whatever there was in those previous 13 eps should still work in order to get a HEA...

NGL, I had better expectations of the drama until now, but I'm not going to drop it two eps from the end. I hope they manage a kind-of-makes-sense rom-com-ish ending, LOL, and that they don't totally drop the ball, but IF that was the original intention / follows the novel story, then it's either poorly scripted, or edited, or executed in the first place.

One week and we'll see.

That's the OG version of the reality. That's the Sol who keeps going back, while keeping her memories.

The first time she went back, she hadn't known SunJae previously (when he saved her, though she was left paralysed. She became his fan only after he talked her into some sense regarding the value of life). The second time around, she was involved with him already and he still ended up seriously injured. The third time she went back he got killed outright, in the past, not even getting to the future.

The fourth time she went back, and avoided him AND the killer completely, they never met until the present day. But she still remembers all the past events.

Grandma with dementia also remembers things that never happened. Also Sol's brother is playing the lottery numbers she never gave him in this timeline (unless there's a twist). And now SunJae dreams of the alternate realities she's been in with him.

I guess it's going to be no-inner-logic romcom to the end. But it might work, if we squint really hard and pretend not to notice the flaws.

... At least in W Two Worlds he never gets to remember once he deletes the real-world memories...

...but if the crazy killer strikes again, I'll swear... WTF, they had like 15 years to get him.

He doesn't know her in this timeline, apparently. Or so it looked from their interraction. If she wiped off the whole past, they wouldn't be close. He only seems to have a vague memory of her because she used to pester him when they were in school, but now it's been dozens of years, he's forgotten about her.
