Title Lovely Runner Spoiler
....Are you freaking f*cking with me right now? So then why did we freaking watch 13 freaking eps for?!
So, let's do it this way - she didn't actually change ANYthing in the past but their original meeting. The whole romance is wiped out. They never met as teens. She didn't make any impression on him, there's no Eclipse, TaeSung doesn't know her either.

But SHE still remembers everything, every change, every way the world moved for DOZENS of freaking years (because she changed the future what, about three times? And then had to re-live and get to the time jump place again).

Why isn't she dead then? Because her past self would have no idea why she should keep out of the killer's way (since current Im Sol is always returning to the future/present). Also why the freak does HIS watch, that has NO meaning any more, still work as a time machine?

This doesn't even make any in-drama sense. WTF?!

Not to mention that the moment she's back we're served with the whole slapstick comedy of her being a poor movie producer and having to deal with a drunkard star who - out of the blue - mimicks the whole scandal of SYJ and KJH, I mean, WHAT THE FREAKING HELL!!!

I am... not really speechless, but way, way less impressed with the drama than I was yesterday.

Oh well. We'll see what there's still there for it to have a kind of ending.

Just reminding everyone of this line:MING TO JOE: "In this life, you won't be able to find a better boyfriend…
He was right though... in THAT life, he didn't.

What did sol do in 4th ep?
He got into a gay fight with Ming. (That is, they tried to scratch their respective eyes out and pull their dyed hair out by the roots, LOL, at the time staying at arms' length from each other :D) For a very heavy ep, that was hilarious AF.

Title The Atypical Family Spoiler
So the mom did know everything that would happen in the wedding but she definitely saw more right? Her whole conversation…
It's either 1. she got the ring from the man who saved her in the fire (she's stroking the precious so many times, it's clearly not just something stolen), or 2. they did steal the ring in advance (that would be a bummer) BUT they never knew about the superpowers when they set up the scam, so the ring would have zero importance in their plans...

So it has to be 1.

He went from let's-wait-for-love-before-registering-the-marriage to completely besotted, all in the space of a…
It doesn't come through like that in the episode - or not for me, anyway. I can see how it can be justified, it's just not shown as that. And since the actors can do a good job - because they've been doing it - it might be the script. Or maybe the way they edited the scenes, I don't know. Something didn't gel right.

He does seem kind of emotionally stunted though - as if he's not a man in his thirties, a father, someone who handled a very tough job (being a firefighter and all), but rather someone who''s fixed on one idea and one idea only. As if he NEVER ever had any other kind of ideas in his head.

... I could totally understand his wife if she did cheat on him, in the past.

I didn't expect the mother to stop it, since she thinks she's dreaming the unchangeable future. But maybe just give him a small heads-up not to put all his hope on this one woman (who he doesn't even really know if he's in love with or not.) His look at the end of her confession - totally broken, already checking out... the mom never told him a thing. I wouldn't expect her to tell him that DDH will confess to being a scammer... just to take action, any action, to protect her own, depressed-into-alcoholism kid.

But what do I know, superhero moms of superhero kids are a different species anyway LOL.

Title The Atypical Family Spoiler
Well. TBH, that was kind of underwhelming.
He went from let's-wait-for-love-before-registering-the-marriage to completely besotted, all in the space of a few days. And she went from let's-register-this-marriage-so-the-con-can-get-on-already to having ethics and morals and a conscience and deciding she's not going to go through with it.

That's either poor writing or poor execution, but IMHO it's the writing.

On the plus side, at least there's a bit more Moon WooJin in the series, and the fake friend showed her colours (also kind of out of the blue, that scene didn't really fit in the place it was put into), aaaand we can all see DoHee's weight going down visibly (which, yay, endorsement for dieting+active life, LOL. Though there's the dreaded Kopiko PPL in the middle of it LOL.)

So what now? He's going to get back to drinking SK dry, and everybody else also goes back to their dysfunctional lifestyles?!

I seriously don't get the mom, though, So her son has found a - however misplaced - new hope for his life, and she decides to just let DDH destroy it all because that's what she saw in the dream? Why not at least TRY to actully prepare him for a meltdown? She just went - oooh, there's something dreadful coming but you get married, what was HE supposed to make of that?!

NGL, GwiJu going back to that scene over and over and OVER again was wholesome and endearing. The poor guy can't believe it himself, LOL.

...The redemption arc does no redeeming, LOL. IMHO it gets worse from now on.
With Haru wo Daite Ita, just don't go to the Alive part (read the older series, not the latest and newest part). She managed to annoy all the fans with it, LOL. As for Motoni Modoru - she draws beautiful stories, just not the one I mentioned. If you want to see what she can do, check out Dog Style (it's not as bad as it sounds LOL). And for more beautiful (and touching) stories, check out Yoneda Kou's No Touching At All (they even made a movie based on it, and it stays true to the manga, it's just the sex scenes that are a bit mechanical, as in most Japanese yaoi movies, anyway).

Danmei can be a mixed bag. Even this one - Professional Body Double - isn't a highlight, I wonder WHY they picked this one. But they're doing an amazing job with it :D

(Oh and BTW another of the author's danmei novels is being already adapted into drama - a costume drama, to boot!! - in Taiwan. (So we can expect actual danmei content and not much censorship, if at all, LOL). It's already linked in the recommendations list above, expected to air in Q2/Q3 this year. )

If I were to pick one to make a drama of... I couldn't even choose, there are so many that are great :D

You couldn't pay me to watch it, LOL (and I was an avid yaoi reader/watcher back in the day). OgN, some of Motoni Modoru's manga (not all of them, but definitely NOT Shiiku Gakari Rika, that one's atrocious), or the likes of Jinx the manhwa... Not for me, LOL. I can't take it any more.

Then again, things like Viewfinder or Haru wo Daite Ita (classics!!), yes, please, could I have some of that :D

Not really, it's more like "I need money to save my - not actual - mom" and Ming proposing for Joe to be his in-home sex attendant (no love lost there yet) in exchange for that money.

LOL, the paying-debt-with-money does come a lot in manga and anime... Also, quite a lot in danmei, too. Just not in actual live-actions. So far :D

But you would NOT really want to see a live-action of Okane Ga Nai, right? :D

Ming is not really yet in love with Joe UNTIL he loses him. He did what he did for his beloved Tong. And what…
Nah, in the novel, at that point, he was still under the impression that the person he was in love with was Tong. He was doing it all for Tong, to save face for him, to stop Zhou/Joe from "stealing" Tong's thunder. The jealousy was actually for Ming's sister, because she got to marry Ming's dream lover.

When he later found out that back profile was actually Joe's is when everything changes. (IIRC it happened right about when Joe goes - in the book - with that docu team and gets killed in the landslide.) Only then does he rush to the site and feverishly keeps looking for Joe long after everybody else has resigned that Joe is dead.

I wonder how they'll manage the final reveal in the drama, given there's no search for the bodies (he didn't die alone then), and actually not even any news that it happened. Them filming in the same zone and the accidental finding of the bones is what starts the novel's climax.

We'll see...

Well, he's nobody and Ming's family is loaded, that's why the police would do nothing anyway.

He doesn't actually (WILLINGLY) go back to Ming. This time he went home because there were some memories of his parents (and he didn't really expect Ming to still be there). When they get together later, Ming doesn't know who Joe is and forces him into a monetary/not-really-loving relationship because of reasons. So Joe isn't actually to blame here...

The drama could decide to go its own way from a certain point onwards, just saying. I mean, when you're reading, you love to hate the charas, but it's harder for a drama to keep it going, if they don't want to be flamed LOL.

I still hope we're going to see the whole hot mess in all its horrific glory, but I am mentally prepared for them to change it up a bit in order to make him more pleasing... We'll see.

LOL, "I'm only 19, I don't know how adults do it... I just watched some Only Friends to see how they do it and did that" hahaha~

Also Inn, "I got Great over to my place and did some rehearsal - tell them what we did!!" And when Great is trying to weasel out of it and over-explains, Inn goes cheekily - "You didn't need to tell them THAT!" LOL. He's so cheeky :D

I actually watched the whole presentation video (the 1-hr long one) and I don't think I noticed all the details that went into this. But their chemistry is on fire.

The novel is a guilty pleasure, too :D

But then, Joe is such a cute, warm-hearted person (and I loved him with mom and his friends - just not with Ming) that it was all kind of worth it in the end. I just wish Ming was that tiny bit likeable - which he wasn't.

Errr... no, it's not like that, really. But then it might be my take on it is strongly coloured by the novel, which the drama actually follows very closely (no changes so far.
