I knew baker-boy was suspicious, didn't really expect him to be a serial child killer OMG. I was so glad he didn't use poison, or all of them would've been gone.

PYY got to meet his father. I am in total awe over Tseng JingHua's emoting in that scene, hit me directly in the heart. I must watch more from this man. And he's so effortlessly funny, LOL. When the last ep started and his mother was telling him about how his grandfather first "died", and PYY goes "what happened then to grandpa, did he die?!" with THAT expression, at the same time being (presumably) completely aware his grandfather was in fact still alive right then - OMG I was actually rolling on the floor. HILARIOUS!!

One-per redeemed herself in the end... though she'd better think before speaking from time to time. I wanted to hit her superior the detective for trying to stop CGY from giving CPR to PYY.

This drama is SO GOOD. Needs more seasons, can we have more seasons, please?

PS Also, it's totally love between PYY and CGY. Even if they're just brothers of the soul, it's love. CGY was broken when he thought PYY was going to die. And he needs an ending to the manhua too LOL.

This must be my week for tearjerking, heartbreaking drama endings.

He followed the line of them back the to the beginning. I loved that.

And GuangYan was the first to give him a "kiss" (though she followed immediately).

I know. It's circled back to "it's not exactly like in the novel". Childish.

I haven't read the novel. The drama's ending was good IMHO. This is an adaptation and it stands on its own. Maybe decide based on what you're watching, not what you're expecting.

No antis deciding they have a war to win. It's all the 14-yr-old mindsets giving themselves a target, sadly.

The final few chapters are TLed in the discussions area, it's what happens after the BE in the novel.

They're unhappy unless they get to tell others how important THEIR opinion of it is, and how unimportant everyone else's is. I've had it with this kind of "connoisseurs".
Somebody must've given them a bat signal, LOL, they're coming out from all over the woodwork and then won't ever be seen again :D

Give it a second, there'll come along a few gatekeepers telling you that you're not qualified to rate this high or appreciate it because 1. you're a fan of one or more of the actors, 2. everybody knows a good drama only gets a HEA (and if it was a clear HEA, they would tell you everybody knows a good drama only gets a BE or OE if it takes itself seriously), 3. you haven't seen that many dramas to realize this is such a mediocre one (LOL), 4. your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries - or something.

I think something's happening again in c-ent, so many naysayers are coming specifically to tell their opinion that it's not good enough, then so ready to defend their "right" to express it (LOL, this is a democracy, since when? And it's such a... thing to say. Whatever).

So don't mind it. Everyone's taste is different, let everybody have their opnion and express it - it doesn't detract: this IS the best xianxia of the last few years. Who doesn't like it - oh well. It'll hurt none, LOL.

This time the drama sent a different message than what you expected. It's not a bad thing to be different.

He has more screen time, more time to spit blood too (lots more battles, also). I don't think she's getting the same numbers.

Okay, this is what I've watched: a character's fate was decided thousand of years before his birth, by a god (a Devil God, but still - powers). His only path in life was to suffer AND bring suffering to everyone around him who would ever try to come near him. And precisely that happened - his mother died in childbirth, his nanny had to endure abuse for years because she had to take care of him, the woman he tricked into marrying him ended up eventually dead, his only friend was killed indirectly by him, his almost-friends either died rather soon (PR) or endured for hundreds of years of demonic arts because of him (the whole YiYue tribe) and when he eventually tried to live a settled, quiet life, he discovered none of the sacrifices already made mattered, because he would still bring about the end-of-world catastrophe the Devil God originally intended for him.

So he only had two choices - submit, become the embodiment of DG and go through with the destruction, OR overcome the inevitable devilization and work around his cursed fate trying to undo the original intention of the DG. There was no rosey HEA possible for him. Had he lived, the All-In-Distress Way would have never stopped until it destroyed the world, because it was not linked to his will, but to his body and soul. So what would have been the use of living in a world turned to chaos?

Instead he did choose to end it by destroying the origins of the catastrophe and not allowing DG to return the world to chaos. It's a victory - yes, he's not around for his wife and daughter. But if he hadn't died, there would be no daughter and most probably, there would be no wife either, any more.

Sometimes, the ending is in the journey. It didn't need a HE, and seriously, with the time they had left, it wouldn't have worked. The small hope left with the glimpse of part of his soul in the Heart-Guarding Scale is enough for anyone wanting an open ending, or at least for a chance for his eventual return. The story as it was told, didn't need it.

So yes, to me, it made sense.

IF they make an afterthought ep, showing that small chance realized, with TTJ reborn and rejoining his family, yay! If not, well, that's okay too.

If you think about it from a realistic blood spitting POV though, LSS got the prize - her chocked up blood spitting when fighting with Di Mian was the best, IMHO.

Luo YunXi... needed to be raised to big star status?! Am I reading this right? LOL. Next we'll hear is that Bai Lu too needed to be raised to star status.

Who's next? Someone nobody knows, maybe Xiao Zhan or Gong Jun? Let's get serious.

It's dropping because a lot of people want a happy-ever-after ending and are hearing things they don't like about it. If you're someone influenced by how others rated it, take it into consideration. If you prefer to make up your mind if it's good or not, give it a try.

He passed his tribulation (not all of them are lightning-based; he absorbed a real god's essence - Devil God's, and made it his own, because he had ascended. He did it, most probably, when he was refining the Heart-Guarding Scale, because it belonged to Ming Ye and needed divine essence to be refined. He had made it his own).

That's why LSS needs to be a goddess to bring him down, so he makes sure SHE passes her (lightning) tribulation, too.

She reached Nirvana and could see he's already ascended, and made him look as he should have looked, for the little time they had remaining.

Life does go on. OE exist. Dramas with BE or OE or even undetermined endings exist. Don't take it so seriously.

I don't want the same bland HEA all the time. There is pain in life, and it's not always incapacitating. Which isn't to say I wouldn't have liked a HE for this drama. I would have. But the ending they presented made sense, and that was all I ever wanted from any fictional story.

Anyway, enjoy your dramas however you like them! :)

Yay, gatekeeping. That's so much fun.

This series earned its ending. (I can't believe it, I'm here defending an ending I didn't appreciate at first, because obviously, like any sane person, a HE would have immediately pleased me, particularly for such a tortured character.)

But now, TBH, I'm growing kind of mad about the condenscesion from people who keep projecting their own beliefs unto others. FYI, I myself did watch enough dramas to know what a cliche is, and YET, I don't start judging people when the ending is NOT what most or some of them are expecting. (And yeah I took this personally, as I think it's kind of rudely formulated by you.)

Anyway, make of that what you will.

I'm loving the fathers' relationship. They're like a real couple, only they're best friends, united against the world for their kids, biological or adopted.

Ling Xiao is the one who notices the small details, JianJian is the oblivious one, and ZiQiu is the insecure one (so far). I like their dynamics, too. I feel this is going to be a great drama for me.
