YL is really so pitiful. I hated him but deeply sympathised with him too. What jxn did to him when he came to her in his first life after the horrible way of losing everything literally destroyed him and his last bit of sanity . He wanted revenge against her like the others but he still loved her so much. He was also suffering so much but wanted to be with her. That’s why he will go to her at night talk to her about everything but also rape her. He also showered her with presents and court got crazy about it. He was planning in becoming the emperor just to have and keep her as an empress. He lost everything after her death and just left everything and cared for nothing. I’m glad he got a second chance.

Yes, I thought it was very weak plot point by the writer. The SML already did so much for her in the first life, why would he jus5 give her up like that. I guess the writer wanted a way to pave the way for the ML and didn’t find something better.

I don’t know which episode she will start a relationship with the ML. That depends on how fast or slow they go with other events on the drama. Yes, she will have a relationship with SML. He was her love from her first life. They loved each other at first sight but she was married to the emperor and wished she wasn’t so she can marry SML. SML sacrificed everything for her, she only asked for his safety before she dies and he is her biggest regret. When he knew she died, he kills himself too in the first life.
The reason for the breakup is that they are both reborn. So, he has the memory it’s first life. He thinks she won’t be able to deal with her regrets if she remain with him. That’s the reason they broke up.

Yes the novel especially the first life arc is so gloomy and dark. The characters apart from ZZ are broken and gray. You hate them, sympathy with them, are conflicted about them. They raise so much different emotion. Only ZZ was good among them.

She won’t fall in love with him easily. To her, he is her killer. She trust him with YL stuff and strategies with him but never trust him with her own stuff. She will soon start her love affair/ relationship with ZZ who she loved at first sight in her first life. ML will be obsessed with her and it get to the point she get kidnapped and think being kidnapped is better than being around the ML. He has a long wait ahead of him.

I didn’t mean you specifically by saying people are giving credit for XW. It’s been many people trying to put other characters down including ZZ, JXN and YL for the benefit of XW. I guess the handsome actor kinda helps in this department. Many people keep saying that we need to forget about the first life and the current one is what matters. But I can’t see it in this way. While JNX might have idolized the love with ZZ, it was a real love. he was the only person who extended his hand for help in her gloomy first life and she remember that quite well. Not even her family, YL, nor XW did that in her first life. Since she came to the capital at 14, everyone really failed her including XW. She was his life saver. She could have left him to die but didn’t, could have refused to scar her hand to feed him blood but she didn’t. Yet, XW never appreciated that. He even kept an eye on her ready to kill her if he thought she will reveal anything about him. he imprisoned her, turned his eye away from her abuse and rape. when she asked for help, he drew a red line on her neck indicating that she need to have her neck cut off. So for some or many of us, he is not that worthy of a happy ending. We are people with different experiences and what might be ok for someone might not be for another.

For me XW was evil from the first page of the novel. I mean we start with him imprisoning the FL, stealing the money that Feng worked so hard to get to fund his revenge, allowing YL to continuously rape and abuse JXN, being a master mind of a revenge revaluation that killed almost half the city. I didn’t need to get to the part that he killed his senior to have an understanding of his psychopathic character. He was so obvious for me. Also, the characters seemed a bit more gloomy in the novel especially JXN. I didn’t feel strongly the rebirth as I did in the novel. Her mind set when described by words seemed to convey stronger message. These are some examples that I thought of. But I also understand that dramas can’t really convey everything that was described by words and that ok.

What TTEOTM stands for? I kinda understand that dramas can’t really portray everything in a novel. They also need to cater for mainstream taste which can be tricky in some areas. I still love the drama a lot but a bit disappointed in some areas. That’s ok really. When reading a novel, we can sometimes envision things differently.

As a novel reader, I’m a bit disappointed. I was waiting for the novel to be made into a drama but I feel a bit let down but still liking it. The drama is whitewashing a lot of things. It’s trying so hard to look nice in a way. The novel was crazy, dark and there were a lot of details that are not the same. For example the banquet that jXN attended to save feng was a lot different and honestly better in the novel. Another example is XW was really a crazy psychopath who hated the emperor. That changed in the drama. Even JXN in the novel was not this happy go lucky as she is in the drama.

You haven’t read the novel then. In the novel, he was the only person who sacrificed everything for her even going against his principles and judgment for her. So, no he is not self righteous person. He was really good and pure man. When she died, he was the only person she had regrets towards. He lost everything for her. They would have complimented each other has she been able to get out of her guilt toward him. I’m not exactly sure why you guys want to gaslight him to give credit to XW. XW was a bad man and still a bad man. The only thing that changes is instead of his obsession with revenge, he became obsessed with JXN more. It was so bad that preferred to be kidnapped by bandits than be with him. But at the end, they both reached out a common ground and worked it up. But why many of you are trying to put ZZ down for XW is beyond me really.

If you put it that way, ya she can be evil too. As she said herself, she did many bad deeds. But her level of evilness is nothing compared to XW. However, we can see many people defending XW and whitewashing his bad deeds. While almost no one extends the same to JXN. Her life was not that better than XW. I mean she started her life thrown on a countryside place by her own father. And the end of it, we have broken and bad people as the leads of this novel and drama who are getting a second chance and there is nothing wrong with it. I’m all for such grey characters but let’s not try to whitewash their deed and belive they are good.That defeats the main point of the novel/drama. I read such novel because I like this type of characters that challenge us and make us think.

ZZ is a good guy in both life times who sacrificed a lot in his first life and he remember everything just like JXN. He was both a good hearted person and a good official. He is just not very fixable in his seek for justice and goodness . That was something JXN could teach him if they stayed together in the second life.

JXN was never evil. She used people because she wanted to be an empress. But she never did evil deeds or killed people. She actually matured and cared a lot about the people in the empire. XW on the other hand was a crazy psycho who killed many people for his revenge. It was clearly stated in the novel that he almost killed half of the entire city. And yes, he tried to kill her in both life times not just the first one. If you look at their time when she was 14 and after she saved his life with her blood, he almost killed her with a dagger. He also kept a close eye on her to make sure she doesn’t say anything about him and yes he was ready to kill her before he fill in love/ obsessed with her. Let’s not ignore these facts to try to make the bad boy a good one.

True, people always romanticize his type in dramas and novel. Honestly he was a complete Psychopath. In real life, people will run away from his type. But people root for the bad boys in dramas. That’s why I prefer novel like the rebirth of ill fated consort. The bad guys are never glorified.

Not really. In the first lifetime both YL and XW cooperated to destroy the imperial family. While XW was the mastermind, YL was the main general who led the troops. In the second lifetime, YL will still lead the troops. XW is a scholar not a troop leader. He will become a main official not a troop leader.

He is an emperor. Emperors can’t be just simply good people. He dies in both life times. In the novel it was very clearly shown that XW despised the emperor and considered him a coward for letting the 300 kids/ souls die on his behalf. The drama is not showing that and kinda shows good vibes between XW and the emperor. But XW is still a double agent as he works with the real rebels and the emperor and aim to destroy the royal family.

No, he was so horrible to her in the first life time. She married the prince and became an empress but her life was horrible and both XW and YL made it a lot worse after the got the power.

No she doesn’t die neither her husband the prince. Her husband loved her not the main wife. So, it’s not bad for her. She is a prince concubine. It’s like the best happy ending they could get. Compared to the first life, they never married, he became the emperor which he never wanted and was poisoned by XW and YL. So, I think this is really a happy ending for them. And maybe the drama will make her (the sister) the main wife. Who knows, that’s very possible.

No one know she is a concubine daughter. The family never told anyone about the swapping of the daughters. It has nothing to do with that. It has to do with political stuff and setting them up with rumours. The prince she married was see by everyone as the prospective emperor because the emperor (his brother) is sick and doesn’t have kids. So, the prince marriage is not that simple and the Xei family wanted him to marry their daughter so bad to get the empress position.

No offense of the actress who is promoted her. I have seen some of her work before. But this novel is epic and need an outstanding and experienced actress as the FL. This will either make or break the drama. The drama will heavily rely on the main actress. Not sure why they are bringing someone who doesn’t seem to fit the role.
