I HATED this drama so much. I couldn't stand either of the leads. The ML was just a douche in general and I HATED the FL for liking him. I prefer the Taiwanese movie better because the ML was so much more likeable and decent.
My favourite thing about this drama was how badass the FL and was how everyone loved her. Heck, even the girls had crushes on her, understandably so, and I LOVED it. She was also the only reason I was able to complete this drama because the ML started to get on my nerves for being so SLOW.
I loved Tae Seo story a lot more than all the other storylines and was really disappointed that it ended the way it did. Because if any character, in any historical drama I've watched deserved a HEA more, it's him. He didn't even need a redemption arc because he was never went far enough to need one. And I kinda shipped him with the fortune teller best friend of the FL. They had good chemistry in all their scenes together and I thought it would go somewhere. He deserved so much better and as satisfied as I was with his father's ending, Tae Seo didn't need to go through that just for his fathers punishment. I kept hoping that Tae Seo will come back, that he faked it like the inspector did, but he did not. And why did they make it so anticlimactic, the best character got the worst and least dramatic end.
At this point, Sa Ra is just delusional. I think she actually believes in her own lies, that Young Guk liked her when he had no memories. The uncle is way too god for her and I don't ship them.
I LOVED the ending. I didn't think I would like the ending so I put of watching the last few episodes. But it was PERFECT. And a ship I didn't even know I shipped, sailed.
I was kind of surprised, but so damn happy but the happy ending. The beginning made it seem like it would have a sad ending full of regrets, but the FL actually turns her life around. Her and the ML running into each other and clearly still being in love with each other just made ending so much better. I haven't watched a happy ending like this in a while. A somewhat closed happy ending.
I liked this movie. Would have liked it more if the end was longer and we got to see what became of the ML at the end after an entire movie of him being perceived as the failure that wouldn't go anywhere with his life. I wanted to see him succeed like the FL did and I wanted them to cross paths again. A 10 year time jump, and yet the FL is still not over the ML. If they weren't going to be reunited, at least have her move on, especially after all that time. She still looked sad at the end, happier than she was at the start of the movie. But sad compared to when she was with the ML.
I like the ML and FL so far (just finished episode 7) but i don't like them together. She is way too good for him. But they do have really good chemistry together.
So I think she lives at the end. He succeeded right? She us alive at the end? I didn't like the end. It wasn't very clear and even if she did live, were they still friends in the future?
Loved the ML and Darren's charecter. But the ML went tooo far most of the time and the FL annoyed me when she didn't give him a chance despite clearly liking him. The ending ANNOYED the HELL out off me. It made no sense. WTF.
The first 15 or so episodes were good and then it went downhill, especially after 20 episodes. There were a lot of plot holes, I HATED the love traingle mostly because I thought the SL and FL suited each other better. The only thing I liked bu the end was the second lead couple and and Demon Emperor. The second lead couple is the only thing that got me to finish this drama. Their relationship never changed throughout this drama and they were the most consistent characters.
I'm on episode 5 and read the comment section. Didn't even read the ones labelled "spoiler". People really need to tick the "spoiler" box before posting. 😐😑😑
He is in a LOT of really good dramas and movies. I'll start a drama or movie, entirely for the plot (partially for the main leads) and later realise that he has a support or guest role in that drama/movie. I didn't mean to, but I've watched a lot of his dramas/movies.
I love her dramas and I love all the characters I've seen her play. I esspecially love her rich girl, and surprisingly really nice girl roles in "Intense Love" and "My Little Princess".
2nd lead, villain and even the main male lead in "The Flames Daughter". - ML is clingy and obsessed with the FL from the very start. The fact that he waited for her to be reborn and then waited another 19 years to "take her" from her family. - SML starts to get jealous of the FL and ML being together. He was always obsessed with the FL though, obsessed with hating her and later loving her. But when he loved her, he was able to let her go. - Villain didn't like the FL, but he was obsessed and VERY possessive of her (dead) mother and this storyline becomes the main storyline in the last 10 or so episodes. He really fits this character arc and his plot is entirely revolved around it, but it is technically not revolved around the FL, but another character played by the same actress. - There's also a 3rd ML who's also in love with the FL but his arc doesn't really fit this.
I just watched him on MARS, loved his acting and character on that drama. Didn't know who he was until that drama but he was amazing in his role in MARS. This was really shocking and sad to read. RIP.
I read a comment about this below and realised that I skipped over this part of your article because I didn't like it. The fact that I get lost in escapism and don't enjoy practicality and and realsim. I'd find this offensive if not for the fact that you are entirely wrong about this point at least for me and everyone I know that has ever watched a drama in their life. Most people don't watch dramas for realism, if I wanted something real I'd watch a documentary or a historically accurate drama. But clearly a lot of people prefer historical dramas that are not "real" considering the fact that they are so damn popular and there are so many Chinese and Korean historical dramas being made that are not in any way historically accurate. Your point of historical and period dramas not being wrtten to make us feel hope of love etc, is only accurate to very specific dramas but most historical and period I've watched or heard of are the complete opposite. Like Moon Lovers for example, what made this drama have a good ending was the fact that there was an open ending suggesting that they meet in the next life.
I kept hoping that Tae Seo will come back, that he faked it like the inspector did, but he did not. And why did they make it so anticlimactic, the best character got the worst and least dramatic end.
