@bluejolene - likewise; I've not bothered with it for the same reason.

Title The Front Line Spoiler
3 year old comment but Goo Soo's character does die. Painfully and slowly, it was really heartbreaking and sad.
Thanks for the heads up, I think I'll give it a miss for now - I'm not really up for sad endings or tearfest movies.

Yep. Among the many things I'd like to do if I could ever use a time machine to go back in time, there's also…
I'll try them when things here are a little calmer (my dad died on Monday evening and his flat is a 3.5 hour drive away (each way) and we can't stay as my 97 year old mother in law is local to us and can't be left alone for more than a few hours either. My dad's landlord is also pushing to get the flat back asap. Since my dad died I've seen the best and worst of people). But I love a good recommendation and taking a break from the family drama occuring right now (MiL is NOT happy she's not the centre of attention) will be nice. I ADORE comedies...... so thanks for the tip! Who knows I may even learn to love French movies again. :)

Oh yeah, totally agree - the two I saw were Le Mépris (with a VERY young Bridgette Bardot) and Pierrot le Fou - they were bad, the Pierrot one was so very awful it put me off foreign movies for years (AND I didn't understand a minute of it)! In fact it was only when an Indian friend persuaded me to see a Bollywood movie with her that I began to change my mind. Then more years later my daughter got me into Kdramas, and I went on from there. But I still can't watch anything French (war flashback to those awful movies)!! LOL! I didn't watch all the 1990 movie of that name, but I've seen clips and that was enough. (*^▽^*)

If I could use a time machine only to stop bad movies being made.....Jesus, I'd have a list as long as my arm! Are you talking about the 1990 movie, or the whole nouvelle vague style movies of the 60s? Both were bad though. LOL!

Ah,that explains it then - good to see him back. I remember him in Naeil's Cantabile......he was excellent; it was so much better than the Japanese original. The Good Doctor was wonderful too.

@Steph aa - I think you have to accept that South Korea is a long, Long, LONG way from having shows like Queer…
Yeah, Personal Taste was a FU on many levels. I agree he was fairly innocent, though I thought he genuinely let her believe he was gay and didn't care until he developed feelings for her - but I haven't watched it in forever, so it could you're right. But, if you wanted a darker story, it would've been easy to do. Yeah, I do recall her ex-friend raising a few eyebrows. LOL!

Dont tell.me that Push is the bad guy! My poor heart!. Someone recommend me Nice drama that males me fall in love…
@Roby Sensei - I can thoroughly recommend Ugly Duckling - Perfect Match. He's a good guy and it's so totally cute and adorable. He was a good guy in Club Friday To Be Continued: She Changed.

When? when will this series start ? I have been waiting like so long for a new Push drama
Same here - I can't wait! I loved the Chinese version; so I am sure with Aom and Push together it's going to be amazing. I LOVE Push and my favourite of his roles was Ugly Duckling: Perfect Match. It was just too cute.

@Steph aa - I think you have to accept that South Korea is a long, Long, LONG way from having shows like Queer…
I bailed on Personal Taste a few episodes in. I just couldn't warm to it. I disliked that he lied and pretended, even when he knew he had feelings for her and she was letting her guard down because he wasn't supposed to see her as anything other than a roommate. So I just dropped it. To me in a way it was worse than this, because in PT he was living with her;at least here he's just supposed to be pretending for a tv show.

I agree about the camps. They have them in America too - but they're mostly based around Christian/other religions and people can leave/escape quite easily; plus there's moves to get them closed down (probably after they get rid of Trump I guess as he's anti LGBT+) and I think there's a strong chance of doing so. They tried to start one here in the UK and it didn't even get going.

In China, like Russia and the Ukraine where they also exist, it's more brutal with torture and electro-shock treatment as daily occurrences. Sometimes I have to remind myself this is the 21st C. and not the Dark Ages.

Naoki did die, I hated it. I don't understand why he had too. I get the siblings thing but I don't think he acted…
@ann- yeah don't worry, everyone's welcome to the We Hate the Writers Club, late or not. It was such a pointless plot twist and that's why I think so many of us were furious. So yeah, welcome to the party! :D Stick with our new ending!

@Steph aa - I think you have to accept that South Korea is a long, Long, LONG way from having shows like Queer…
I actually found Personal Taste a little disturbing - I mean sure it was a romcom, but you could've easily made it a horror because he basically lied to her he was gay (and therefore by default NOT interested in her as anything more than a roommate/friend) just to get inside her flat and live there, but ultimately fell for her......now imagine him as a stalker doing all that to her. I thought it was poorly done.

Things are changing for the better in KDramas IF Where Your Eyes Linger becomes the norm; but I guess so long as there's not cure camps and what is basically the LGBT+community being (unofficially) criminalised so they can't hold jobs in government, teaching, etc then It's still streets ahead of China. Which is so sad I could cry.

@Steph aa - I think you have to accept that South Korea is a long, Long, LONG way from having shows like Queer…
Try 'Where Your Eyes Linger' - it's been recommended to me as an excellent LGBT+ Kdrama by numerous people which is always a good sign. I have to say the main reason I won't be watching this is the LGBT+ baiting. I didn't like it much in Personal Taste where it was nothing more than a plot device and you knew that going in.

I have a pan daughter and a lesbian cousin, one of my daughter's best friends is trans so my support for the LGBT+ community is unwavering and total. I don't like seeing it being used just as plot twist or not even being real. It merely continues the stereotype belief by homophobes that being LGBT+ isn't real and can be 'changed' if the person just wants to be 'normal'. THAT is NOT helpful.

Sadly I can't see South Korea getting their act together any time soon, but at least they've not started 'cure camps' like China.

Title Sweet Munchies Spoiler
This drama keeps going downhill, the fact that he had the opportunity to come clean, but he continued lying is…
@Steph aa - I think you have to accept that South Korea is a long, Long, LONG way from having shows like Queer as Folk (even sans the gay sex and swearing); even it was as just a cute romcom/romdrama/coming of age LGBT+ love story, like Thailand's Love Sick. They are only marginally better than China for their reaction to LGBT+ and, considering China now has 'cure camps' for their LGBT+ nationals, that's not saying a lot.

I find I tend to stick to Thai and Taiwanese LGBT+ dramas (can we ever forget HIStory 1: Obsession and even the other series in the seasons? - all Taiwanese as well (take THAT China!) and of course Love Sick, SOTUS and so many others in Thailand).

Sad, VERY sad - but also very true. Case in point - Holland. Out and proud gay Korean idol - now spending 98% of his time in Europe and the West because he basically has little to nothing career-wise in Korea.....ONLY because he's proud of who he is, and who he is is gay.

Expecting a western or even Thai or Taiwanese style positive LGBT+story from South Korea is setting yourself up for disappointment, It's NOT going to happen - it's why so many of their idols and entertainment stars are so far in the closet they could find Narnia.

I'm more than happy to do that. I haven't been able to find a subbed version yet (and I think I should watch it dubbed as the subject is too important to just guess at what's going on). But when I do, I'm happy to come back and let you and others know if it got it right. :)

@Mojojojo - THIS I think would be worth it, though I've not found a way to see it yet in the UK. But I've heard good things. But Miss in Kiss ? NO, NEVER. :)

Netflix really should - they're usually pretty good on LGBT+ content though, so fingers crossed!
Sorry to hear that - we get netflix here in the UK for £8.99 ($11.30) a month and that opens all of Netflix UK to us. However we also have Amazon Prime at £79 ($99.35) a year and then we have to pay per episode of the other stuff that's popular (unless it's a Prime own project) of between £3-£5 ($3.77-$6.28) and even really old films are expensive, so I do sympathise.

I think they should've had Ken play the king - I love that guy and his acting steals every scene.
I think Aum Athichart would be good too. :)
