I think the screenwriter wrote the script and the director merely follow the script. Thus far, the uneven screen time given to the leads is due to the screenwriting rather than directing. Have no worries. This is a very short drama. It will end in two weeks.

I am also a Reba fan. But I did not come here for her alone. I came here for both the leads. So, Felice, here is my suggestion. All the scenes you find boring, just fast forward.

Before the drama began, many people said game is not the major part of the story. That is true. So, I fast forward lots and lots of those game scenes.

And now, lots of aerospace scenes. Just fast forward. Even if you just watch all the scenes involving Yang Yang and Reba still ok.

The game is just plot device to bring them together. Aerospace to show how important Yang Yang's dream is to him. You do not need to see many of those aerospace scenes, if you find them boring. Just fast forward. You will not miss anything important.

Soon, there will be lots of scenes involving Yang Yang and Reba and you will still be very happy watching this drama.

I understand what they are trying to do. But some of stuff in tonight's episodes were totally non-essential. Show some colleagues tired here and there, etc. Lots of stuff were not essential. If these were written in the novel, who cares? They should been left out from the drama. Not everything from the novel needs to be 'transported' to the drama. Novel readers are very different from dramas viewers.

But, hey, who knows. We are the international viewers. We are less important than viewers from China. If viewers from China love all the aerospace stuff, good for them. Viewership will go up.

When the series ends, and viewership numbers come in, we shall know. If viewership falls below expectations, we know what went wrong. If viewership is great, we also know that our tastes are different from the viewers in China. Perhaps they really do not mind all the game and aerospace stuff.

Same here. Don't worry. You are hardly alone. Many people feel the same way. All those aerospace stuff today, I skipped them.

Yeah!! The rating has gone up to 8.5. For me, this is still a great drama. With some minor adjustments here and there, will be superb.

1. Cut more of the game scenes
2. Cut more of the aerospace scenes

Just as people are annoyed with those game scenes used to promote that video game, people will be annoyed to see too many aerospace scenes used to promote the aerospace industry in China.

Cut down some of the hospital scenes as well. Those are side characters. We come here to see the main characters, name Reba and Yang Yang.

Please do not misunderstand some of us. Because we are cheering this drama all the way. We just want to see more of Reba and Yang Yang and their amazing chemistry. All the other stuff, the less the better.

Yup. I totally agree. One of my friends from TLB, after watching E1-12, asked me, is Dilraba playing supporting cast in this drama, giving the little screen time allocated to her.

Come on, who really come here to see those satellite flying around?? Perhaps Gun Man really wanted to make use of her book to promote the aerospace industry in China.

Cut down more of the game stuff in earlier episodes, and cut down more of the aerospace stuff from onging episodes, give more time to the romance story between the two and this would be a perfect drama.

Don't worry. You are not alone. As more and more people speak up, you will realise how many people feel the same as you. I almost felt like being attacked too. But I am way too cool to react negatively. I just know that sooner or later, lots of people who feel the way you do will speak up.

And we are not even attacking Yang Yang.

More like giving feedback on the directing/screenwriting. Just way way too much time promoting game in the first part of the drama and now way too much time promoting the aerospace industry, and so little time to develop the plot involving YT and QJJ, when most people come here to see YT acting with QJJ.

Yeah!! I do feel the same way as you do!!! Glad I am not alone. Someone who migrated here from TLB asked me if Reba is playing a supporting cast in the drama. I said no. Please give the drama more time. At the rate things are going, I could be wrong. It does seem that she is playing supporting role here, judging from screen time.

I am totally not interested in those stuff, as much as I am totally uninterested in all the game stuff. So, in future if I see anymore of those kind of scenes, I will react the same I reacted to all the game scenes. I will just fast forward

I would fully agree. Way way too much time was spent on aerospace and his colleagues. Just as not many were interested in those game scenes, I suspect many were not too keen in having too many of those aerospace scenes. We did not come here to watch a documentary on the rover. They should cut out some of the time on those stuff, and show more reactions from QJJ, after she was rejected the second time. That would have been more interesting to watch.

Like you, I also nearly fell asleep on the rover stuff. For sure, if I intend to do rewatch, I will be fast fowarding all those tehnical aerospace stuff, the same way I have fast forwards all the game scenes in prior episodes.

It made me cry too. But, it was way below my expectation. I really expected more angst than this.

I would respectfully disagree about screen time. It is not a matter of competition, pitting one lead against another. Just that if both are playing lead roles, for every two episodes, they should be given roughly same amount of screen time. For instance, as I have stated, instead of giving so much screen time to YT and focusing on how he is reacting, viewers will want to see how JingJing reacts to the latest rejection. Instead, all we see was 5 minutes of screen time for JingJing, as pointed by trunkenta. No matter how much self-worth JingJing has, it has got to hurt more than what can be expressed in those 5 minutes. She may be a big star. But she is still human.

I did not read the novel. If that is way the novel portrayed QJJ's reaction to the second rejection, with all due respect to Gu Man, I am going to disagree with the scant attention given to QJJ's reaction given in both the novel and the drama. More attention has got to be given to her reaction being rejected the second time.

Perhaps hate is too strong a word. But, boy, she has got to be angry with the second rejection. I can see it in her reaction. She said "I won't ever ask you again." and then ran off. That, to me is expression of digust. Even YT later said, "I made her angry." I just felt that the feeling of digust or anger was not sufficiently 'milked' for even greater emotional reaction from viewers. Viewers will want to see a sad, disgusted and angry QJJ. So sorry for the rest of you, but I felt those few minutes of her crying in the car, taking out her earrings was grossly inadequate to capture all her negative emotions. They could have spent more time showing her reactions.

Instead, it pivoted to lots of those aerospace scenes, and lots of time was spent there. They could shorten some of those scenes there. While some were, quite a few minutes there were not central to the storyline, minutes which could have been used to show QJJ's reaction.

I assure you, it is not my intention to start any fan war here or sow discord. Those who have been with me for three months TLB will know that whenever I watch a drama, I will support both the leads, not just one.

I am just giving my honest reaction to the latest 2 episodes.

Haha, but that is exactly what it will take, if you want viewership to increase by the millions. Those who came from TLB, we know how well she can do crying scenes. E15 does not even touch 50% of her ability to cry. No matter how much self-worth she has, to be rejected twice, and the second time with the kind of reason given by YT, the director/screenwriter should make her show more sadness plus some disgust.

Also, the screen time given to QJJ in these two latest episodes is terrible. Way too much of YT and too little of QJJ. Very uneven. And if later, they give more time to QJJ and less to YT, that will also be rather uneven. Best to give roughly the same amount of screen time to both, for every two episodes, since they are releasing 2 episodes per day.

QJJ had just suffered another heartbreak. Viewers will want to see how she is reacting, besides showing how YT is taking it all the time.

Yah, there are still newcomers coming here all the time. Anything that you have done, you should introduce and let all the newcomers see them. They will like it!!

Yes, that is what we kept telling people that this was filmed during the pandemic. They probably don't want to take too much risk with those kiss scenes. I believe, Leo has also made a promise that his first on-screen kiss scene will be in an up and coming movie that will be aired real soon.

Regarding that mask dance scene, the probably want to avoid showing too much of it. Technically, Changge grew up like a tomboy. She is supposed to be more interested in stuff like horse riding, shooting arrows, than dancing. So, if suddenly, she can dance so well, people will be wondering, where did that skill come from??

Oh, yes, for sure the amazing chemistry between Leo and Reba more than made for the lack of those mouth to mouth kiss scenes between the two. Just the way they looked at each other was great! And their one-to-one conversations were all very lovely, very affectionate. And their hugs as well. These were things we kept telling people who came here looking for kisses.

Wow! All of you views, they are so similar to a great majority of us here. If you had come to this forum two months ago, you would have enjoyed so much exchanges with us. Now, all of the ''regulars" have let this place. I am one of the few still lurking around this forum

I fully agree with this observation. Great disparity in screen time given to JingJing versus YT. At least for these two episodes. Hopefully, parity will be restored by tomorrow. No wonder someone here said is she playing supporting actress in this drama?

Reba's great acting ability totally under-utilised. For those of us who came from TLB, we know how well she can cry. After the rejection, to show her sadness, should have made JJ ask the driver drive her to a river somewhere, throw those two earrings into the river, and made her cry more, to generate more emotion of sadness and disgust.

Totally wasted opportunities in these 2 episodes.

Let's see if JJ gets more air time tomorrow.

Will not be easy to get to 8.9. Will need massive number of new people to rate it 9 and above
