And therefore her asking him to coach him without paying him is a fair exchange, just like she was willing to buy him chicken if he had taught him maths in high school.

This argument of her making that unsolicited ad for his company as fair exchange for teaching her for free was indeed mentioned by someone. But others just brushed it of, saying it was not worth much.

I guess your homework on behalf of all of us has just restored that explanation as a good basis for him teaching her for free, that she was indeed a very fair person.

If the drama did not make it clear that an unsolicited endorsement like that is worth about 300k, that can only mean the drama did a bad job. Maybe they spoke too fast or what, I cannot remember. Bottom line is, the drama must do a good job explanating everything, so viewers can understand everything, just by watching the drama. They cannot assume that all viewers will read the novel, because some people just don't want to read a novel, before watching a drama. I will not even read the novel, after watching this drama. I really do want the drama to tell me the entire story. If it does not, and viewers need to do so much speculation, to me, it is just poor storytelling on the part of the screenwriter, the director, or both.

Here is another possibility. Perhaps whatever they did was clear to viewers to China. Poor subtitling made all of us miss some of those, and that 300k did not register in our mind.

Regardless, your research has help us understand things better. The next person who comes along and asked why he was willing to teach her for free, we can give a better response.

I do agree with this observation. Word of Honor is big internationally, but in China, it was hardly a bit hit. So domestic and international viewers do have different tastes. Sometimes though, those tastes do overlap. Maybe like yanxi palace? Big hit in domestic and international markets

Oh I asked you because you come across as a very knowledgeable person on this issue. And someone was making a comment about actors listing in China. I needed some info before I make any reply.

A lot of you have been saying this show is an ad for the video game. This is a sinister thought from me. This show is also an advertisement for Dilraba. It shows just what her life is like, as an actress, and a very successful one. Making movies, endorsement shoots, meeting movie directors, lots of travelling around, etc.

In real life, whoever wants to marry her must be willing to accept a wife with this sort of lifestyle. Because Reba surely is not giving up her career as an actress. I do suspect, after marriage, she will want to continue acting. It is her passion, not just her job. And she is rich, for sure. So, even if she has kids after marriage, which is a sure thing, she can still manage. She can afford maids to take care of household stuff. I could be wrong, but I sincerely doubt she will end up like a stay home wife.

But one never knows. The highly successful singer/actress Momoe Yamaguchi, right after marriage, gave up her career at the height of her popularity to become a stay home wife and just take care of her kids and have a good family life with her husband. In so doing, she broke the hearts of millions of her fans, both in Japan and around the world. And she was highly popular in China.

For our sakes, I hope Reba will not do that. We want to see her in front of our screen for years and years to come.

Hence, he dared not to communicate his fears to her. Because Jingjing is a very open person. If he had told her his concerns, she would have told him not to worry. She will be just fine, because she will be just as busy as him, being a very successful actress.

Yes. it is in all those looks they give each other. Such good acting by both of them, that even without a single word spoken, they have communicated so much with each other, and to us, the viewers.

I don't really understand the technical part of the game. Who are the various characters in the game. Even for that, I could understand from the conversations that it has a lot to do with strategies and teamwork. and the graphics for the game is really well done. And the gaming competition itself, that is supercool, with all the fans cheering, all the cute conversations made even by those fans. E13-14 just moved along so quickly. Now waiting for E15-16.

Reba is just 'naturally' cute. We saw that in the BTS of TLB. But here with Yang Yang, they seem to love that particular dance move. We saw the same dance move in the other BTS. She is a dancer, so she can do just about any kind of dance. Is this something Yang Yang is teaching her, or what? Just curious.

To all who are finding him somewhat boring at the moment, you likely started out watching this drama before reading the novel. I am like you. But people who did read the novel mentioned that the character of Yu Tu is like that. A reserved introvert. Introverts keep things to themselves. Besides, the nature of his job means lots of stuff, he cannot tell others.
And right now, he is carrying a lot of financial burden. His facial expression is that of a depressed, or at least an unhappy person.

But look at his face again, when he is in QJJ's presence (or when QJJ is in his). He will always light up and break out into a gentle smile. He acts with his eyes and lots of facial micro-expressions, conveying his joy and happiness, whenever he is with her.

So, there will be more emotions coming from Yu Tu. Please be patient.

It is indeed a simple gesture. But a gesture of trust. And it does show that they have now trusted each other, because in a previous episode, he too gave her his phone. Their relationship is progressing in the trajectory you have just mentioned: from friendship to love and romance. I believe there will be some road bumps along the way, to make that journey interesting, but people who have read the novel said they will end up together.

While you do not see chemistry between the two main actors, many of us do. While you do not find the story interesting, many of us do. The two big actors are also good and just make the story believeable. Nothing wrong with that. All good stories need good acting to help make the story believeable.

If you have watched many episodes and still find this not to be your cup of tea, please do not torture yourself anymore. Please drop it.
