In other words, this whole drama is a huge advert for Tencent 5v5 mobas and the only reason I dropped the series!
It is ok for you to drop it, but please don't give all those bogus reasons. Every single of your arguments has been soundly refuted. You came here with some ulterior motive and we all know what that is.

I have seen your posts on other drama (for sure Ancient Love Poetry, always using Douban rating as a comparison).…
Great point!! This person obviously has an ulterior in coming here to make negative comments. Judging from all the excellent points made by the people who have pushed back against this viewer, we all know the hidden agenda of this particular viewer.

Except it's literally the game Honor of Kings they're playing, it's not 100% about gaming. Yu Tu plays games to…
I just love a viewer like you, always armed with great evidence to push back against people who do not like this drama because of some hidden agenda, but used some bogus excuses just to make others think that they are highly sophisticated.

Sophisticaled viewers like you just exposed all their lame excuses for not liking this drama.

'Yang Yang acting' is trending 3rd on weibo-https://twitter.com/DidiDoYouLuvMe/status/1422242265943085058?s=20
Anyone know the corresponding trending for Dilraba? That trending for Yang Yang likely compiled by Yang Yang fans.

Congrats yrmg reach 900 million views. I believe we going to reach 1 billion view by the end of today
Yes, it should. It will hit 1B, but just one day slower than ELOD. Still very very good, considering they need to compete for viewership in the China market. Many Chinese viewers are having a hard time deciding between watching this drama or the Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. Especially when China is doing so well there, winning lots of gold medals, and the night events consist of lots of Table Tennis stuff that China is so good in. It is like their national sport.

Hence, 900 million views thus far is still a great number. By end of Tuesday, viewership should hit 1B.

come because dilraba! She is great in the long ballad!! but compared to tlb this drama is quite boring like watching…
Folks, no need to attack each other. Lmlyd just came from watching TLB. Likely watched YAMG without reading the novel.

Lmlyd, I saw you on the page of TLB. I suspect you likely love that drama so much and you came here to watch this drama because of Reba. and it is ok to do that. Don't feel bad.

Modern dramas have simpler plot compared to a historical drama like TLB. But this drama has its charm, just not the same way as TLB. They are playing game, up to E14, because the producer of this drama is Tencent. They spent millions to customise the CGI just for this drama. Hence, it is not unreasonable to have all those scenes on this particular game to help them recover some costs. As the producer of this drama, Tencent paid for most of the money used to finance this drama. The high costs of the two mega stars of this drama, the supporting cast, the screenwriter, etc. There are other sponsors as well, but they contributed not as much as Tencent.

And the game is merely a plot device to allow the two main characters to meet. Let me share how I cope with the game issue. I just fast forward all the game scenes. Particularly those that just show their hands hitting their phones, with little meaningful conversations, other than just talking about the game. I find that I did not miss anything at all. And I also did not get frustrated, because I am not a gaming person, so Tencent is not going to make a single cent from me.

Hence, while it is undeniable fact that Tencent is using it to promote this game, it is also an undeniable fact that the game is just a plot device for them to come together, after not seeing each other for 10 long years. All novels or dramas need a plot device (or an excuse) for the two main leads to meet.

Hence, please be patient. By E15, no more games. From here on, the drama will shift to aerospace.

That is also another plot device, to make the drama interesting. If the technical aspects of this industry disturb you, you can ignore the technical stuff. All those formulae, etc., they are great for technical people who are watching this drama. For us, who are not technical people, just focus on the plot.

The author/screenwriter just want to use the aerospace industry to tell the story that the male lead is not making enough money to meet his financial requirements, considering how expensive it is to live in Shanghai, his fear that if one of his parents has a serious illness, he might not be able to give them the best medical care, etc. This is just part of the plot. If the novel writer wrote that the male lead works in the finance sector, this plot will no longer be possible.

In the end, the 'true' story is still about the love story between the two main leads. Because thus far, they are ones carrying the show, not the game nor even the aerospace industry.

As for the character Yu Tu, please do not think that the actor Yang Yang who plays Yu Tu is a boring guy. In real life, Yang Yang is a very lively person and laughs readiily (as can be seen from the BTS). Yu Tu appears as boring, because the character is like that. He is a reserved introvert (unlike the actress QJJ, who is a bubbling extrovert, who loves to talk and be funny). And the contrast between the two personalities does make this drama interesting.

I hope this simple explanation can help you enjoy this drama, the same way you enjoyed TLB. They are both lovely dramas, just not the same kind or genre of dramas.

I thought this was gonna b a cool drama about some game I neva heard of.BUT, it turns out to be a...Shameless…
Yes, I think if this drama is not your cup of tea, not what you are looking for, it is ok to drop it.

I agree with someyicooo. This drama is not about gaming at all. Game is just a plot device to bring them together. By E15, there isn't any ,pre game at all. This drama is more about the relationship between two former classmates who did not 'find' each other in high school, but life is something giving them a second chance at forming a relationship.

The main focus is not on gaming, but decision making, relationship and life issues. Good luck in finding your drama that involve a new game that you have yet to hear of.

I don't know if this is just me but why do I feel like this drama is not gaining nearly as much attention in China…
Many of us here fully agree with you, that a drama as good as this is not getting the attention in China that it deserves. Should easy be 5B. Many of us have already made request for it to be on Netflix around the world. So far, it is on Netflix Taiwan. We are not sure they are in Netflix USA.

800M views on Tencent Video! Woohoo!
Just watched the fan meeting earlier this week, and one guy was saying the viewership number is great, considering the fact that they have to compete against the Olympics that is going right now in Tokyo and China is taking part in so many events. So, many people are torn between watching that, and YAMG. So, perhaps when the Olympics are over, viewership will just jump in China.

Good idea, if you want to be totally surprised. But, you will need strong will power.

Title You Are My Glory Spoiler
Omg What will happen tomorrow? I hope wont be a long heartbreak.
I don't think YT is an idiot. But if he is bringing the example of his colleague and his wife, and compare what Jing Jing might be like, if she were to marry him, he could be over thinking it. Because his friend's wife seems like a full time housewife, just taking care of their kids.

I think Jing Jing will be different. After marriage, she will continue her career and she will be going around filming. So, even if he were to work long hours and not home most of the time, she will not be stuck at home thinking about him. She has many of her stuff to do.

Secondly, because Jing Jing is quite rich, later, when they have kids, she can alway employ helpers to take care of the kids, if she needs to go out filming. Some actresses even bring their kids to the filming sites (with their helpers to take care of the kids, of course).

In real life, there are many actresses out there who continued in their acting career, even after marriage, and after having kids.

Anyway, it is ok for the screenwriter to write the story this way. I don't a problem with that at all. YT rejecting JJ the second time, and then have to win her back after realising his own feelings for her, makes the story more interesting. If he accepts her too quickly, the drama will not be quite as fun to watch.

he's still a bit stiff but it's a different from cold-ice characters he has always portrayed. at least i'm happy…
I see! So, there is no official list. Based on what you have described, it seems like some kind of common understanding people will have.

Here is the thing about not having an official list of A-list for actors/actreses. It can give rise to lots of unnecessary arguments. I think you kind of alluded to that, when you said everyone seems to feel that their favourite actor/actress are the best in everything. I, for one, have never really thought that Reba is right up there among the best, because she did not do well in movies at all. So it does show that her acting is just limited to dramas. But her die-hard fans might disagree with me.

Maybe there is no such list, because it is difficult to combine across the two medium of drama and movies. and this is so because they call for very different set of acting skills.

Don't worry too much about this discussion. I asked you, because I really thought there is such a list and I was ignorant about its existence. I want to thank you so much for taking your time to respond. I have learned something.

Wow, I thought it was just 3 of them - the effect is so big? Anyway in Qianxun the ratings is 4.8/5.0 which is…
I think the main role of QJJ in this drama is to show her as YT's support system, to be there when he is struggling with the decision whether he should quit aersopace to join the finance sector.

I came here only after watching E13-14 tonight. and we can already see the impact she is having on him, when he was asked what is he doing, he said aerospace. And QJJ kind of look shocked, because she was thinking he is really going to quit aerospace.

I think later espisodes will give her even more scenes to act out her role. Maybe she will face some career issues of her own. But we can tell, it will be essentially to support him, so that eventually he will achieve his dream while staying within the aerospace industry. That has always been what she would hope for him to do, since high school.

I do not mind for a drama to have many CPs. The Long Ballad has many CPs. But there is only 1 key CP and all who watched that drama knew who the main CP was. But when a drama has 2 CPs and it gives equal amount of time to both CPs, it can be very confusing. For TLB, this did not happen at all. So, it was not confusing.

I think this drama is doing quite well. The viewership number in China is very very healthy. We can expect future episodes to have equally great viewership numbers.

Very sad news for fans of Kris Wu and Yang Zi. Because they filmed an historical called the Golden Hairpin. Tencent…
Nice to know that Yang Zi will not be suffering too much fallout from the Kris Wu scandal. I am done discussing this topic. Just wanted to point out how fortunate we are, to be supporting Reba and Yang Yang and we will not have to suffer any heartbreak.

Two little sweet episodes to keep the drama going. When they were up on stage, you can clearly see the contrasting personalities between QJJ and YT. Ending part of E14 is preparing us for the heartbreak tomorrow.

So far, both our leads are doing great. QJJ shows that she is as good a gamer, as she is an actress. YT, supporting her well in the game compartment. Their acting is absolutely great, carrying their respectively roles beautifully. Their eye contact impeccable.

Pace is good. Those who do not know this particular game, like me, need not lose too much. I focused on their interaction, conversation, body language, but can more or tell what they are trying to do with the game, and totally know where the plot is leading to. The game competition is not draggy at all. Moves along very seamlessly.

Looking forward to E15-16 tomorrow.

Oh Lord after 12 episodes I hope they will give YT new Jacket😩😩; Im aware of his financial struggles but…
I laughed at this post. What a nice prayer. That jacket, are you referring to his corporate jacket? Or the one he wears to her apartment? Jing Jing has a lot of extra stuff given by all the companies whose products she endorses. Maybe there is a jacket in there somewhere.
