Very sad news for fans of Kris Wu and Yang Zi. Because they filmed an historical called the Golden Hairpin. Tencent…
Don't worry. I do not ever take any comment here personally. After all, we don't really know each other. There is no reason for you to feel that you are attacking me, because I certainly don't feel being attacked in anyway.
In many ways, what you have pointed out is not wrong. Please bear in mind, I do not feel sorry one bit for Kris Wu. If police investigations do lead to the conclusion that he really assaulted all those women, and he is sent to prison, and after that is deported and sent back to Canada, serve him right, for doing what he did. 10 years could well be too lenient, if he commited multiple assaults.
He could also be facing civil suits from all the victims as well. He can say goodbye to his career. He may need to go back to Korea, get their world renowned plastic surgeons to give him a new face, change his name and assume a new identity.
As for Tencent, it may be a very rich company, but they could have investors who might not be. I would imagine there will be many small shareholders who put their life savings into buying their shares, only to see their money vanish into thin air, or stuck there for years.
I do not know too much about Tencent, whether they are heavily involved in social causes, like giving back to the society in some ways. If they are, one of the first areas they might be tempted to do will be to scale back those kind of stuff. And their beneficiaries will then suffer.
If the experience of losing money from The Golden Hairpin, and The Legend of Ba Qing humbles them a little, there is indeed a cause for being happy.
As for Yang Zi, there is no doubt she is already very rich. But she is still a human. She must have put in alot of effort filming The Golden Hairpin. No doubt, Tencent must have already paid her. Hopefully, she did not sign into any contract that ties her pay to how well the show will perform, because at this moment, The Golden Hairpin is not going anywhere. But beyond money, as an artiste who has put all the hard work, she does want to see her work being aired, get feedback, see viewer reactions and learn from it and progress in her career. So, in that sense, she will lose a bit of that experience when that drama is going no where. And, well, from that angle, I do feel sorry for her.
And also feel sorry for her fans, some of whom could have waited for a long time to watch The Golden Hairpin.
As for all of us, we must be drama fans. That is why we are here in the first place. Coming to this forum, sharing our views. We already belong to a very fortunate circle of people. As you correctly said, there are many poor people out there. Many cannot afford a TV, a PC or a mobile phone. In this difficult time of the pandemic, many people lost their jobs, some committed suicide, etc.
But, here we are. What do you suggest that we do?? And you are here too. Any suggestions?
Perhaps you are suggesting we should just watch our dramas and stop feeling sorry for Tencent, for Yang Zi and all the other celebrities? That is it?? It is what you are saying??
If so, point taken. I will not say a word about this anymore. And will indeed thank you for the kind advice. Good luck to all those small shareholders of Tencent, to every celebrity (like Yang Zi) affected by this and other scandals.
I am going to stop writing and just wait for YAMG to air in half an hour.
I feel the same as you. Disappointed as I have been so looking fwd to it since i like both YY and Dlrba
Oh that is so good! Because so many who have read the novel said the same thing about his character. So, all these comments about him looking the way he does, we can fully understand. They likely come from people who have not read the novel.
Wow, I thought it was just 3 of them - the effect is so big? Anyway in Qianxun the ratings is 4.8/5.0 which is…
Being a guy will not make too much difference. As long as you belong the correct age group, it will mean you know what the working world is like, you will be able to relate to the issues faced with either YT or QJJ.
Yes, arranged marriages are a thing of the past. Very few can relate to that. Except maybe viewers from India. It still takes place there, as I have many friends who are Indians.
I also do not like a drama with a 2nd CP. By 2nd CP, I meant a second couple. Hope we are talking about the same thing. I came from The Long Ballad. There is a 2nd couple there. And lots of fan wars between the 1st couple and 2nd couple, initially. Later, things became more settled and most still preferred the 1st CP. Some still preferred the 2nd couple, but a minority.
Don't worry about aerospace. At least don't worry about all the technical stuff. The author just wanted to use this as a plot device. She never meant for this drama to highlight that industry. In the end, it will still be about the love story of QJJ and YT.
If you are watching even all the trailors, it does show that you really like this drama. Only people who really like a particular will bother to watch all the trailers.
Very sad news for fans of Kris Wu and Yang Zi. Because they filmed an historical called the Golden Hairpin. Tencent…
Yeah. And their stock price has gone down by lots recently. I would imagine all the top executives there must be looking somewhat like Yu Tu. Very worried and stoic.
Wow, I thought it was just 3 of them - the effect is so big? Anyway in Qianxun the ratings is 4.8/5.0 which is…
I see. Thanks for the very detailed analysis of the difference between the two. If you appreciate YAMG so much, I do suspect you belong to the slightly older group of viewers. Very likely 22 and above. I would say, generally, only working adults will love YAMG, because the themes explored are very much work related. Those younger, perhaps up to 21, will only be able to relate to this if they have older siblings whom they communicate very closely and would share work problems with them.
But if younger people really love FIYS and are very devoted to that drama, they will rate it very high.
Working adults are different. They are a more diverse group of individuals with more diverse tastes. We may not be able to find the same degree of support as FIYS. But that is very difficult to predict as well, because we are just 12 episodes to this drama. And there are thousands of viewers out there yet to rate this drama.
If, when more episodes are being aired week by week, and they are really good, a 8.7 rating is very much possible.
I'm not Asian but I'm Eastern European by birth so "face" was very important there and then too. I get you and…
I see! That is what you meant by 'face' in giant letters!! Afte watching TLB, and seeing that giant "Do Nothing" calligraphy, I thought you meant a literal 'face' in giant letters.
Very sad news for fans of Kris Wu and Yang Zi. Because they filmed an historical called the Golden Hairpin. Tencent…
Every penny spent just went down the drain. All the investors. This will be a big big lost for Tencent and all other investors. It will lead to greater scrutiny of all leads of all major productions. No one is gonna place any trust in any actor/actress which has one tinny winny bit of rumour of scandals of any kind.
I think Yang Yang and Reba will be very safe and even more popular in future, as producers and directors gravitate toward 'clean' stars.
Now, I feel extremely sorry for Yang Zi. Not just her Golden Hairpin project. Indirectly, because she is the female lead in TGH, they will be afraid to air her up and coming dramas. They will need to wait a while, for the scandal to run its course. Meaning many of her dramas that were scheduled to be aired will be delayed.
Wow, I thought it was just 3 of them - the effect is so big? Anyway in Qianxun the ratings is 4.8/5.0 which is…
I did not watch FIYS, but it seems many people who are here also watched FIYS. Maybe all, including you if watched it, who watched it can tell us if this is on par with FIYS? But FIYS has a different group of viewers. Mostly younger than YAMG. And the female lead there is an idol. And the ML is very popular. Lots and lots of support, and very little attack from anti fans, so ratings went very high.
Here, we already suffered one massive attack. Who knows. Maybe there will more attacks in future.
I hope for good CGI when there's mermaid...... forgot which drama it was but they had baaaaaaaaaad CGI where the…
I heard this is a big budget project. The director worked on the Eternal Love of Dream project and the CGI there was great. So, I do think that the CGI for this one will be great too.
he's still a bit stiff but it's a different from cold-ice characters he has always portrayed. at least i'm happy…
This is somewhat off the topic from this discussion thread. I know you are a fan of many actors/actresses and hence you must have watched lots of drama and are very familiar with the Chinese entertainment industry.
Is there an official list of A-list actor and actresses? Based purely on acting? I tried to search for it and could not find. And I am asking this openly, because I do not wish to send you PM for this kind of stuff. One, I do not know you personally, and you might feel offended if I PM you for this. Two, because other people here in this forum may also want to know.
Is there such a list, at all?? If so, do you have a link to the list?
I just saw this: https://www.globaltimes.cn/page/202108/1230189.shtml
Very sad news for fans of Kris Wu and Yang Zi. Because they filmed an historical called the Golden Hairpin. Tencent is one of the major investors. Lots of money will go down the drain. In the millions. That is why the moral life of an actor/actress is so important, off-screen.
So far, Yang Yang and Reba are great. No monkey business. Any producer asking them to play lead roles feel very safe.
When I went to the page of TLB, Fairydustpuppy - she is also here in this forum - described Reba as an actress that beautiful inside out and scandal free. I was very touched.
I am sure it is the same for Yang Yang.
So, all the more we should support our two main leads. I suspect Tencent might even want to support YAMG even more, to make more money from this project and compensate for the losses of The Golden Hairpin.
talking about attacks, don't you know? attack against dilraba was also coming from ONE of her female co-stars…
Is there a list of A-List actress of Chinese actresses? I have been looking for a list like that. Just some kind of official ranking of actresses, based purely on acting abilities
I bowed to The Long Ballad. There are so many things I wanted to write about TLB but if I can sum up, I would…
Really glad you like this drama so much. You can also share your views. Which are the scenes that touched you most. And why. People here will love discussing with you, enhancing your experience of watching this drama.
