Cute Reba: https://twitter.com/dilireba_/status/1421344038297370629?s=21
It must be cute, but my level of Chinese is not enough to understand what she was saying.

I feel you there WK1... it's exhausting indeed but I'm just gonna be happy in my sphere, gonna ignore rest. I…
Yeah, apparantly some are even doing this sort of stuff in facebook.

But I feel a bit sad concerning a few genuine Reba fans. They seem to think that ALL Reba fans must feel the same way about her acting, which isn't true. Just as we are not robots, liking each drama exactly the same way, Reba fans are also not robots. There can be different views, and it is ok.

No one is attacking anyone. Exchanging of views exists in any forum. Healthy exchange of views can lead to greater mutual understanding for everyone. Even if we agree to disagree, we can all walk away completely satisfied.

Who is "we"?
"We" are the people who are loving this drama so far, who find the acting of Yang Yang and Reba totally on point, in their respective portrayal of Yu Tu and Qiao Jing Jing. And that they have great chemistry, from the way they look at each other, are comfortable with each other. And 'we' know that later, there will be kisses, but not right now.

"They" are those who not agree.

"We" and "they" are not enemies, but some of the "they" seem to think the "we" are attacking the "they" and are not happy about it. And the 'we' are trying tell 'they' that is not true, we just want to be your friend, but trying to understand your views.

Some of the 'we' who do like this drama seem to think that the 'they' should be left alone, but some 'we' disagree. We should engage the 'they' so that we can understand each other, so that this forum can be a place for everyone to share views, have fun, enjoy each other's views, even if we may not agree all the time.

Title The Long Ballad Spoiler
I just started and couldn't understand the situation well in the drama. I've hard time recognising names so I'm…
He is a general from the Ashile Troops. He was in Chang'an, the capital f the Tang Dynasty, and he was there disguised as a buinessman, to spy on the Tang Dynasty, see what is happening. This is to help assess the situation at the Tang Dynasty. see if it is time for the Eastern Turks to attack the Tang Dynasty.

Does that help you?

All the bantering, just so sweet. You could tell, they are all just enjoying the filming. And Yang Yang in real…
I think some roller coaster could be good. But I don't like roller coaster that is created through one misunderstanding after another.

The MDL is an open forum, open space. No one is asking anyone to shut up. And no one is trying to control the narratives here. Anyone can say anything he/she wants. But, please bear in mind, while you can say anything you want, you are dealing with lots of highly intelligent people here. You may be smart, but we are not dumbos.

People are totally free to express their views, but others are fully entitled to ask you why you feel the way you do. The goal is not to challenge you or attack you, nor the fact that we are intolerant of diversity of views. The goal is to have an intelligent and friendly exchange of information and views, so that we can all learn from one another and appreciate the acting by the various actors and actresses even more.

Take for example, those who say YY's acting is bit stiff. We asked, 'how so', many people then gave examples, citing evidence from his acting in Love020, that he was rather expressionless there and now also expressionless here. And we said fair enough. It makes sense. Others then chimed in and said that is his character right now. He will emote later, when the situations call for it.

We all walked from those kinds of exchanges having learned something.

But, if a person gives a differing opinion, and we asked that person why they feel the way they do, and they start to feel that we are trying to attack them, or they just clammed up, then no one can be blamed for thinking that person is either an anti-fan or might have language issue. If language is the issue, some people might have joined the wrong forum.

Granted, those doing the asking will have to ask in a friendly way and not make people feel being attacked. In the coming days, we will all learn how to do it more tactfully.

But a forum is a forum. It should be open to healthy debates and exchange of views. That is how we got the forum at the TLB. We disagree with each other all the time. Even Reba fans will disagree with other Reba fans; and Wu Lei fans will disagree with other Wu Lei fans. But we learned to disagree very healthily and became almost like a family there. No one felt being attacked, even if we disagreed. Some people call us a cult, but that's ok. They can call us whatever they want. It is their right, and their choice. It will not provoke any reaction from us. But many others left that forum, when they could not engage with us in healthy debates. These days, we are not even interested to engage with anyone with a different opinion anymore. They do not like TLB, come to the forum and tell us to our face, they do not like TLB, it is ok. We just leave them alone. We are totally done explaining stuff to people. Just too exhausting.

Personally? I will not do that. If there is a drama that I do not like, I will not go the page and tell the folks there, this is a horrible drama. That is rather rude, I think. I have been to many MDL pages now. I know that all the popular dramas, the MDL pages are populated by people who do love those dramas. I will never want to go there and hurt their feelings, regardless how I feel about those dramas. It is just not smart to go there and tell them, what a silly drama this is, or what horrible actress or actor those leads are. If people are polite, they tell you nicely they disagree with you; others will throw acid at you.

From now on, I think we know what to do. Anyone who comes here with a differing opinion, fine. We exchange one or two posts with them, see if they are keen to engage us. If. after or two exchanges with them, we can determine that they are the kind who just want to come here, drop some negative views, and totally do not wish to be engaged us in anyway, our response should be very very simple: just leave them alone. Arguing with them will be a waste of our time and emotional energies, and newcomers who come here will think that people here are fighting each other, which will be bad for the drama.

And we don't even need to do this for every single individual who come here with differing views. Just read between the lines. If we think they are the chatty kind, we engage. They just write one or two lines, don't even bother.

Lmao, i read almost all comments here except 2 or 3 comment (which are attacking others who have different opinion…
We do not want people to shut up. Only that if they do express a different opinion, do explain why they feel the way they do, with examples from scenes here and there. This way, we will understand where they are coming from, and our exchange with them will be fruitful and productive.

But to come and here and just say, oh, this person or that person did not act well, and then when we ask them, how so, which scene, etc. so that we can understand why they said the thing they said, and these people just keep quiet and don't explain themselves, yes, it does make you feel that they are either anti-fan or they cannot express themselves well in English. If language is the issue, perhaps this is the wrong discussion forum for them.

Nobody ask anyone to shut up. Not here. Nor in the TLB forum. We just ask for intelligent and friendly exchange of views. Nothing more, nothing less. Just go the TLB forum. There are lots of people who do not agree with the majority of the people there, and we do not ask them to shut up.

But we do engage them with intelligent debates. If they cannot handle that and leave that forum, it is not our fault. It just shows that their views cannot stand up to scrutiny.

Defend is perhaps too strong a word. Perhaps explain is a better word. If people find too many scenes on those…
That is so very true! I like diversity in opinions too! But those opinions ought to be sincere, backed up by examples or scenes here and there, to explain why they feel the way they do. This way, our exchanges with people with different opinions will be productive and fruitful.

But if they just come here and say I don't like this and don't that, and cannot explain why, we will think that they are just anti-fan, coming here to sow discord.

I do not mean to insult anyone, but this is an English language based forum. If people do have good opinions but cannot express themselves well in English, they should go to a Chinese forum, or a forum in a language that they are most comfortable with.

I did not think of using wax as a figure of speech to describe how we could be feeling right now. But after the explanation by caDAVEr, yah, I am indeed a wax. Read my post, right up there, at the beginning of the page.

I felt inspired by the short post made by Diasporadic somewhere below. She contrasted between the emotional worlds of QJJ and YT (up to E12). Her world is bright and cherry, with great career success and great emotional support from her manager and assistant, while his is collapsing right before him (career issue, money issue, colleague has cancer) and he is an introvert who bottled up all his emotions. Another persion mentioned that at this point of his life, he is close to being suicidal (a description that is very apt).

Until QJJ came into his life. And became the support system that he needs. At just the right time.

I am English educated, so not great with Chinese songs, but I do remember an English song that YT could identify with right now.

You Light up by life by Debbie Boone, in 1977. Here is the YouTube clip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b07-yKnKRMQ&ab_channel=BaBaKa1863

Read the lyrics. See if you agree with me that it would describe how he is feeling up to E12.

Edit: I am not good with video editing. Might even be fun if someone can do a FMV with this song as the background music. Just a thot.

I like the way we see how different the worlds of YT and QJJ are. Her world is bright and fun. She has stresses…
I do feel that you captured the emotional component of the 1st 10-12 episodes very well. Emotionally, at this point in time, QJJ must be very strong. With the success she is getting in her career and the support system she is getting from her manager and her assistant, QJJ is rock solid emotionally. But YT is wreck right now. Someone here mentioned that he is close to being sucidal. It is like two different emotional worlds were just colliding, one at the mountain top, the other, deep in the valley.

And you captured that collision so well.

Happy to see many people enjoying. Considering the views, do you think it will be one of the most watched drama…
I remember who you are now! At the TLB forum, you wanted us to help make request for ELOD to be on Netflix. Did you get your wish? ELOD is such a good drama!

Wow! Great news! That was like a few days ago?? Someone posted below. Latest update: We now have 600m views! Well…
I tried one episode, and then I dropped it, even though I like watching her dramas. Nothing wrong with her acting as well. I think she acted really well. It is just the genre that I did not like.

Omg!!!! They are so cute.🥰
Dilraba is known for having great chemistry with whoever is the male lead. You will feel the same way when you watch The Blue Whisper. But the male lead in that drama is married. So, off screen, she cannot behave like how she behaved with Wu Lei or Yang Yang. On-screen, their chemistry will still be great.
