I can't say I'm content with this episode... it's kinda a filler, nothing we haven't seen before... i was waiting for EMOTIONS, but everything was kinda tame
Can anyone clarify whether grandad planned to switch real Sa eon because the kid was a psychopath or was it because…
Mostly because he's a psychopath I'd say. Otherwise they wouldn't have waited so long to switch the kids. Also we still don't have a confirmation if the presidential candidate truly isn't his son.
I'm going to miss this comment section!WTPR Comment Section: π₯°πππΈπ€πEvery Other Comment Section:…
Yes, I wanted to praise everyone as well. There are so many good souls here who spent a lot of time answering questions asked by people confused by the mystery! And also when people came to criticise the drama, the discussions were mostly really civil and understanding, not just "you're a hater, get out of here". It was such a nice experience watching the drama with you guys!
Don't forget both dramas had barely-if any promotion at all from the network's end!
I feel that MBC dramas this year have all been a surprise for me, I didn't see them coming at all π But I wonder why Lovely Runner didn't get promotion from tvn, I mean just a few months after that we were literally flooded with QOT content...
I really want to see Lovely Runner but it's not on any major OTT streamer, and I don't bootleg. So I wonder (without…
I'd say that Lovely Runner was a major hit in the kdrama watchers community, and especially in Asia. But due to it not being on a bigger platform while it aired (with other content than just asian dramas), like you said, I guess it didn't reach as many international customers who are warching kdramas more casually. But I also find it really hard to say why they became such major hits haha. In case of WTPR, I haven't seen a thriller romance in a long time, so I think a lot of people missed it as well and tuned in. But Lovely Runner is a really interesting case and I still can't quite grasp what made it such a phenomenon. I feel that the fantastic roles from main male actors made an incredible amount of buzz for both dramas tho.
I think it's an interesting phenomenon that two 2024 dramas, that became major hits internationally, and also created a lot of buzz in Korea (ranking first on both drama and actor buzzworthy rankings), had pretty underwhalming ratings in korean tv. I'm talking ofc about our WTPR (around 7-8% viewership, airs on national tv station), but the same happened with Lovely Runner (around 4-5% viewership, aired on cable station). Both of them didn't have major A-listers, so maybe that is one of the reasons? But both of them made the main male actors really popular too π of course there are more differences between them than similarities. Just sharing my casual thoughts haha
So in anticipation of the conclusion of the story, I'm rewatching from the beginning. I just finished episode…
I have the same thoughts after rewatch. It's so clear that he loves her with all his heart. His every expression is pretty consistent with it. But I can see her perspective and reasons to act cold towards him as well. As for point 1 - I guess he wanted to confirm HJ's whereabouts asap (cause of his situation at work), and he can't call HJ cause she can't speak. So he called the first person he know could give him information fast (his mother, and then MIL). But yeah, he should have texted HJ nevertheless.
I'd just hate if, after all of the talk that now she will protect Se Eon, Hee Joo's sacrificial car accident will end in her being kidnapped and held somewhere for SE to save her yet again. I mean, it's really okay for me that he saves her, he clearly has more resources, I'm not pushing some feminist quota here or anything, but if this was gonna happen, the "now I will protect you, Sa Eon" is pretty hollow and they should have just skipped it altogether. My point being - I really hope she's in a cave somewhere torturing rPSE for all he did to her and her husband before she comes all victorious with info to bury her whole family and PSE's as well.
I would say a good chunk of the audience just would not catch that (I can't even name a pope let alone tell you…
Are you suggesting I'm old?? Hahaha, jokes aside, I guess you're right, especially Korean audiences won't notice. For me it's a combination of being from a catholic country and being a bit obsessed with show's timeline π
I don't really mind plotholes, but why is child HJ reading about Pope Benedict XVI resignation in ep 5, she should have been 18 in 2013, when that happened π€£
Not my dirty mind thinking during ep 4 that "You haven't settled from the shock. You know you'll be very tense down there" meant something else than literally going few floors down the hotel building to meet SE's parents ππ
Happy new year π Everyone, About the ratings if your not new to MDL you would know that its because it depends…
It's weird to me how so many people put so much effort to comment on the ratings. Like each popular drama has both the "it's overrated, how can the rating be so high" comments as well as the "why isn't it 9.5 yet, smh" comments at the same time haha. Just rate it as you feel and don't seek validation in other people's opinions guys...
I am wondering if we'll get some closure on HJ's mom and SE's fake dad acting really close in the earlier episodes... if they're having an affair or sth, so that when it's out HJ's mom will be left all alone...
Also I feel that SE cooking breakfast for HJ in ep 2 was a direct fan service to YYS's medical drama fans, with SE ordering HJ just like a Kang Dong Joo during an operation ("knife") haha
I'm rewatching first episodes, and the amount of foreshadowing is cheff's kiss. Like HJ's step-father telling presidential candidate that SE inherited more from the chairman than him - happened already at the start of ep 3 haha
