"You get a lot of pressure about a certain age for marriage, and 30s are kind of the deadline for us. Everyone seems to be obsessed about finding ‘the one’, as they think being an old single lady would be one of most miserable and lonely things in the world. That’s a mindset set up by men for sure. Anyway, in Asian society, people put a lot of pressure on unmarried or childless women."
^^^ I relate to this so much. I don't consider myself that old, but many of my friends and relatives who are the same age or belong to the same culture as me married young. There is nothing wrong with how we all choose to live our lives, but it does get exhausting when it is one of the only things that always gets brought up at family gatherings lol.
Thank you for the review. I enjoyed reading it.
When I wrote, "I liked the tension and chemistry they had in the beginning, and I wish their relationship had just stayed the same as before. The plot started to derail and the pacing started to drag once these two characters got together," What I meant was the story needed their dynamic, not their romance.
And when I asked, "What if a woman chose herself for once AND put her dreams first?" I wanted her to prioritize her political ambitions over any distractions of a man.
As you said so yourself, there weren't enough episodes for everything the writers wanted to do with the drama. By focusing on the romance, it took away time that could've been used on the political / espionage storyline, which I was more interested in.
It's been a month since I watched this, and I've moved on, so I don't really have much else to say about it other than what I already wrote lol.
We might have different opinions on the drama, but I'm glad you enjoyed it.
^ I completely agree with this! This drama started off as my comfort show, my safe escape from all the bloodshed and betrayals in Fated Hearts, but somehow it ended up stressing me out just as much - if not more.
"It felt like writers were confused till the end on how to present it, and in a rush, went with the lamest explanation."
^ I feel like the theories we had in our heads were more interesting than the one that was presented to us lol.
"it's a pity when the drama forgets along the way what made it delicious in the first place."
^ I just finished the drama, and this was my concluding sentiment too. 🥹 I didn't hate the ending, but I am disappointed by the final episodes leading up to it. I don't even have the energy to write a full-length review for this drama because of that. 😂
I love this review, Jojo~
Hopefully our next time-travel drama will be better. ❤️
Thank you for reading and also for the gift! ❤️
I like everything else though. Such a good and lighthearted drama~
