completely agree. even as a LJH fan, this drama fell flat for me. in fact i was more interested in the 2nd leads…
Yes, the characters were honestly the best part of this drama! LJH and his costars did their best with the script they were given. It is just unfortunate that their performances weren't enough to save a stagnant plot.

Hopefully our next watch will be better lol.
Thank you for taking the time to read my review. :)

"The main strength of their bond lies in the fact that they understand each other's silence better than most couples understand words."

^^^ Yesss, you worded it so perfectly! My favorite moments were of our leads during their long car rides. There's just something very special about being able to sit comfortably with someone in silence, without any pressure to speak unless you really want to, and I really appreciated how it was depicted here.

Loved the cinematography. Irene? Not so much lol.
I pretty much agree with all the takes you had for this drama.

Great review as always, Jojo~

Hiya. Just checking in with the few people who actually waited until the end of a series before reviewing it.…
Hi!

Thank you for taking the time to read my review and for leaving such a respectful comment even though we feel differently about this drama.

My intentions are never to maliciously put a drama down for no reason or personally attack anyone who doesn't have the same opinions as me. I only want to write an honest review of my experience, and I just don't think it is possible to do so without completing the drama first.

I'm sad that it didn't live up to my expectations, but I really am glad that others (such as yourself) enjoyed it.

I appreciate you~

If Yan Tuo's younger sister is still missing, then who is Lin Ling? Lin Ling addresses Yan Tuo as "brother"…
I see. Thank you for the response~

I agree. It doesn't make sense that the hunters, who dedicated their whole lives solely to training / learning…
I guess I just expected more from the hunters because they're constantly training lol.

Ahh, thank you for answering! I was wondering why Yan Tuo kept saying his sister was missing even though Lin Ling was around. That helped me clear the confusion~

i want to start watching this, is it scary?
There are a few jump scares in episode one, but the rest of the available episodes haven't been as scary.

Events of ep. 6-8 are proof of how incompetent the good guys have become *sigh* 😳😥
I agree. It doesn't make sense that the hunters, who dedicated their whole lives solely to training / learning how to kill earth fiends, are still somehow weaker than the earth fiends who have to divide their time between body snatching and running big corporations.

I just finished episode 7 and I have some questions that maybe a novel reader or someone who knows the story well…
If Yan Tuo's younger sister is still missing, then who is Lin Ling? Lin Ling addresses Yan Tuo as "brother" but she doesn't seem close to Ms. Lin, so Ms. Lin can't possibly be her bio mom. How are they related?

Also, is Locust the earth fiend child of Ms. Lin? She was with Locust right before Locust got captured 20 years ago.

i love her backstory with the blind guy. They had so much chemistry and feelings, just different ambitions
I think so too. He wants to protect the world and she wants to protect her peace, and both are honestly so valid for their stances. If I was in their shoes, I would be conflicted. Really great portrayals so far.

Why the rating just 7.8? I think it should be above 8
Just the usual shenanigans that happen to new dramas on MDL. The rating normally balances itself out by the end of the drama's run though, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

junseo & jaeoh’s bromance in ep 7 was freaking adorable
I agree. They're the only duo I genuinely ship at the moment, tbh.

I started watching yesterday and I'm already hooked. I've only watched 2 episodes, but this drama seems perfect…
TPOB is my favorite drama of 2025, and I'm so glad you are enjoying this!
To answer your question - it is a happy ending for our main couple. :)

Best comment from Knetz: The biggest villain of this drama is not Pyo, its the writer XD
For once, I fully agree with knetz lol.

This story could fit into 12 episodes mold. It’s getting tiring, so many hardships and tiny wins, it’s like…
I relate to your comment so much. I am two episodes behind at the moment, and I don't have any motivation to catch up. I like our main characters a lot, and I tune in every weekend for them, but it really is exhausting to watch them deal with loss after loss.

A-Jin is too good of a manipulator I would hate to be on her bad side
Thisss. I'm both afraid of her and also drawn to her. 😅😂

Title Dear X
I just finished all six of the available episodes today, and I find Baek Ah Jin such an interesting main character. I know that she is a sociopath and I don't think she deserves a happy ending, but at the same time, I also feel protective of her whenever someone tries to take her down. So I can't even criticize Yun Jun Seo; I completely understand the dilemma he is in lol.

I'm sorry you have to listen to bs like that. It is not okay. I don't know why some of the "elders" of our communities think that they're allowed to make cruel remarks toward us just because we don't fit their ideas of perfect women. They expect us to just take the insults without responding and if we do say anything back then we are being "disrespectful". I'm a firm believer that respect is earned, not given. Just because they are older, it doesn't make them wiser. Props to you for sticking up for yourself. They should feel embarrassed for their words and actions. The audacity that some people have. 😡

It's like you are reading my mind because this is exactly how I feel and why I feel the way that I do lol. I like the idea of romance (especially in fiction), but I can't convince myself that marriage or children are things I need in my life.

"Very few women I know said they are happy with their married life, but ironically they still urge me to get married every time I meet them lol."

^^^ And omg, if this isn't the truth!! This has happened to me so many times before, and I just remember thinking, "Girl, weren't you just complaining about your husband on social media the other day?"

I don't know if it's healthy for us to feel this way, it's probably not lol. I also think it's a bit sad that trauma has shaped this mindset of ours, but sometimes, the mind does what it has to do in order to protect the heart. Maybe someday we will change our minds, maybe we won't, but at least we know that for the time being, we are living our lives for ourselves despite the societal expectations that are placed on women like us.
