At first, I was annoyed that Xue Xi would even pull a move like that on Chang Yang, considering that her and Mu Dan were on friendly terms, but then I guess from Xue Xi's perspective, Chang Yang and Mu Dan weren't a real couple so it was okay to confess.

Either way, thank god everyone is mature about it. I liked the blossoming friendship between Xue Xi and Mu Dan, and I was not ready to have another woman compete with Mu Dan just for the attention of a man. 🥹

Does Xue Xi really like Chang Yang??? She went to embrace him and she put her head on his shoulder at the beginning of the episode. That was just an act to get Mu Dan jealous, right?

When the drama first started, I didn't like how cruel Shen Zaiye was to Jiang Taohua. He was constantly choking her, trying to murder her, and talking down to her - I remember saying that I wanted him to suffer a little before she accepted his love. I guess I got my wish because our man is really going through it now lol.

I really liked Zaiye's reactions to finally uncovering the truth about Taohua. Liu Xue Yi did a fantastic job portraying the agony, guilt, and rage Zaiye felt without much words. It is angsty in all the best ways. I liked that he is seeking revenge for her by going after those that once bullied and harmed her too, and how he assured her that she can trust him. The way this man is determined to protect and right the wrongs done to his wife is everything.

I haven't watched the teasers for the next episodes yet, but hopefully they get rid of the fake Jiang Taohua + 3rd prince engagement and amnesia plotlines soon.

Shen Zaiye is so dreamy in episode 21 - I am swooned.

I am not sure lol. I don't know if she remember at this moment or not. I thought it was just a coincidence.

That makes so much more sense than what occurred in the drama.

I guess I have a very different opinion of the FL than you.

From the very moment we were introduced to Jiang Taohua, I wholeheartedly believed that she loved her brother more than anyone in this world and she was willing to do anything to keep him alive - even if it meant giving herself up as a hostage to her stepmother and to an enemy state. Imagine being young and powerless with the burden of protecting someone you love over your shoulders and the threat of death to both you and your loved one over your head... that look of desperation and helplessness felt very real to me. Meng Zi Yi did a great job at convincing me to sympathize and root for her character from the very start. I find her very likable.

Both the ML and the FL have schemed against each other, yes, but up until the most recent episodes it has only been the ML who have caused real harm and danger to the FL. He strangled her and purposely tried to kill her multiple times. Meanwhile, she has yet to hurt anyone intentionally. If anything, she has gone against orders and delayed / successfully gotten rid of any threats and danger to the ML's life or the lives of the ones he care about. If she was truly indifferent, she wouldn't have bothered with any of this and saved herself the trouble. She promised the ML she would not cause any harm to Qi state, and the ones in it, and she kept her words.

Jiang Taohua cares for Shen Zaiye, but she do not have the privilege of falling in love or actively seeking love at this time - she is just trying to survive and make sure her brother is safe.

I love Liu Xue Yi's acting and I think Shen Zaiye is a great character, but this story wouldn't be the same without Jiang Taohua's struggles, empathy and grace.

I think the drama is still pretty good overall, it's just this new plotline makes no sense. I hope the screenwriters can correct this misstep of theirs within the next few episodes.
