I agree with what you said about NK. the drama’s depiction of NK was very romanticized, probably because NK would find out about the drama and if they showed the cold hard truth about NK, they might have tried to do something against SK.

Yeah. I loved it at first...when I thought they met for the first time when she literally crashed into NK. lol
I was so invested in the first half or so but as these coincidences kept happening, although many might have loved it, for me it started to lose its spark. I still kept watching because I liked so many characters and wanted to know the rest of the story, but I was not in love with the drama anymore. The ending was realistic and at the same time left a lot unexplained. But it was the ending I expected since the beginning. There were a lot of hints here and there that it would end that way.

I liked it but I did not love it. I think the issue for me was how they went for a more typical kdrama that you would expect from a few years back with the whole fate thing. They created way too many coincidences that were sold as fate but like anything else, when something is too much, you get tired of it. I wish they went for a more realistic approach to their romance. Like, how would she know how to play by memory a piano song she heard only once years ago? There were several things that were anything but logical and I cannot pretend they never happened.

For me, the only thing that makes this drama different from any other average kdrama is the plot unfolding mostly in North Korea, something that has not been done that often yet.

The one I found is the same as the one Maryam shared. Hopefully someone will sub it. I am just surprised it is not on the official yt channel when they have the entire drama subbed. They even have several bts of the filming of that special episode, yet the actual episode has not been released, at least not yet.

Btw, have you watched the special they did in modern times? I can only find it without subs. I really want to watch it while I wait for season 2.

If they had changed both main leads, yeah, I would be able to think of this as a new drama. But the male lead is the same and they just changed the female lead so I wont be able to disconnect from the first season. And since this was a drama that I did not even like that much, I would rather use my time watching something else.

Since the synopsis is not doing anything for this drama and no one is talking about it, I will do you guys a favor and watch it and then come back here and share my thoughts on it.

Tbh, at first I was not going to watch it but then was like meh, have nothing better to do anyway, might as well watch it.

Yeah, that was the issue for me. You just dont go from a ten years old love to loving someone you just recently met....unless you realize what you felt previously was not actually love.

It depends on what are your preferences. But I can tell you that it is worth watching just for that ending. You can read my spoiler comment if you want to know why I think the ending is worth watching this.

The full last episode is dedicated to wrapping up things nicely and we are given a wedding, the birth of their sons (triplets lol) and a last scene where the triplets are already toddlers and are going (supposedly) on a trip with their mother, and of course the father is not going to stay behind.

I had to increase the rating a little after that ending. :P

At times I felt bored, at times I felt it was being too dramatic, but most of the time I liked it. Then the ending came and I was like YES. A drama that gave us the ending we have wanted for so many other dramas and rarely got.

I also wanted to see it that way at first but the writers really tried to deny me that right. Lol

But it probably was the case since he was so immature that I doubt even knew how to differentiate between love and admiration. Honestly, Kan Di was more like a mother or an older sister taking care of him. Since it was the only kind of attention he got, he probably thought of it as love. But the thing is I got under the impression that the writers were trying to make us believe he actually loved her, but did it in such an unbelievable way that I was never convinced.

Since you also felt the same way as I did about his feelings towards her, then I am going back to believing that he was just confused. We can’t both be wrong, right? XD

Haha, thank you. I am only able to write these kinds of comments when the drama has an obvious fault but I was never involved enough to be frustrated by it. If I really liked the drama and then had to watch that ending, I would be mad and my comment would probably be more of a ranting rather than what I did here. XD

That is true. But when you like someone for 10 years you dont get over them that easily. Even if he started having feelings for the FL, he would not completely let go of his feelings for Kandi right away. That was not very realistic. In the same episode you had him pretending to be someone he wasnt to try and win over Kandi and then realize he liked the FL and completely forget about Kandi. It did not feel natural or genuine. They should have made him give up on her in the first few episodes so there was some space for him to fall in love with someone else. Doing both things in the same episode felt rushed.

I used to write reviews when I first joined MDL. But I found that writing comments is a lot more practical. And people tend to scroll through the comment section before watching a drama so they will still come across my painfully honest comments. XD

It was interesting cause it seemed like the roles were reversed. Usually the male lead is the one who is colder, good at fighting and smart and the female lead is super nice to everyone but is at the same time kind of weak and easy to fool. In your typical chinese drama, the female lead would be the one to teach the male lead how to be a better person. But here the female lead has all the traits of the typical male lead and the male lead has the traits of the typical female lead. So I found their interactions interesting to watch.
