Almost everyone turned either boring or ooc (maybe except the demon and the guy who almost married MC). And I found myself no longer rooting for my favorite couple, or even the MC.

DY is about the generation before TBOY.
As in, Tang Lian's master, Wuxin's father, Xiao Se's father, uncle and master, Lei Wujie's parents, etc.

Also, what happens in DY, has a considerable impact on the events in TBOY. For example, Wuxin's circumstances.

In that case, yes you can rest assured. The only thing left open was a glimmer of hope, which had more to do with characters than the plot. If they decide to make another season, they can easily pick up where they left on the extra episode. But they'll need a new story, because the previous one's concluded.
