The english translation is pretty good. Sometimes they mess up pronouns but not too badly.
But I would wait until the drama has completed airing or you'll be like a lot of us and say 'but in the novel....'😂

Once the series is over read the novel! There's so much fun in it! And tragedy. And love. And a really awesome kickass FL who schemes and plots and plans and makes sure she protects everyone and takes all of her enemies out. In very creative ways. She has plans on top of plans! Playing 4-dimensional chess with the villains and they are playing checkers.
And a ML who is there for her in case she needs help but just looks on with love and awe on how her schemes unfold.😍
You won't find a weeping, kneeling, kowtowing FL in the novel. Since she already lived the life she knows how to protect everyone and won't let anyone bully her or tell her what to do!🥰

Episode 14. Seriously, has this version of the FL forgotten her previous life already? The entire purpose of this story was she went back in time and fixed everything. She saved her brother, she saved her sister, she saved herself! She saved her neighbor from the embarrassment of being found waking up with pigs....oh wait, that's the novel version again. 🐖😂 Never mind.

Yes! Putting your head down and trying not to be noticed won't cut it with this psycho princess!

The only explanation for ML falling for her so quickly is he remembers the past (future) life too. Otherwise it doesn't make any sense. Even for a c-drama!😉
The bad guys are making it so obvious they are planning something that there is no way the ML and his crack team of spies wouldn't notice. Hells, even that Chuchu is smart enough to see what's going on. But of course, nope, no one notices and the brother is still an imbecile! 🤡 At this stage you have to cut your losses!Think of how much trouble would have been avoided if the FL would have told her brother the truth! He's dumb enough to believe it and would have listened.🤐
Ok, will the FL now start to her revenge scheme or is she going to keep being a passive doormat? Please start your revenge and justice!🙏
Since they changed it from a pleasure boat to a whorehouse I'm glad to see the FL burning the whorehouse down instead of the pleasure boat. I'm bummed they didn't have the FL saving her brother (since she already knew what was going to happen and she saved him in the novel, why didn't she in the drama? Stupid). And I'm bummed that there wasn't any pushing the bad guy under the water with the pole when he was struggling to get out to make sure he died! That was a righteous scene in the novel!🥰

Episode 12. So the FL is sitting with the Zhen in a matchmaking establishment drinking tea? What's the ML doing there? 🤔
I wish the drama wouldn't have made the brother such an imbecile! They could show that he's immature without...this! 🤡 He's too over the top. 🙉
FFS so frickin' tired of the cartoon villain aunt and her sidekick. Please stop! And grandma should be smarter then that, right?

This FL is so submissive and passive it makes you wonder if she learned anything at all from her previous life and death. I mean, in her previous life in the drama we see a pretty badass FL with a sword killing her enemy. Where did she go? 🤨
Oh man, don't tell me they are turning the idea around and took a badass FL and because of her previous life and death she decided that the best way to survive was to become a doormat? 😲

Proving that this is such a good drama that I just can't stay away from!

It was the Empress Dowager, the Emperor's adopted mother. She was really a fake, having been secretly replaced decades earlier.
But she was a spy, either from the Xuemiao or Wumiao tribe. To tell you the truth I kind of got lost at that part of the story. There was plot within plot within plot....

The Emperor gives up his throne for the ML, basically retiring. The ML is a different sort of emperor than the previous one. Any time he is holding court and one of his officials comes up with an idea or question that he doesn't like he just gets up and walks out. 😂
The officials all want the new emperor to expand the harem, mostly for their own political power so they can make one of their own families' girls a member of the harem and get more power. Every time someone brings it up in court, the Emperor walks out. Then he'll stay away from court for several days. This freaks out the officials. And this goes on for 3 years or so. 😂
In the meantime the Emperor and Empress (ML and FL) keep having babies. So after at least 3 princes and one princess the officials finally give up, realizing there were enough babies to ensure the emperor's line continues.
But it's much funnier in the story!🤣

If you read this side story from the original novel you can see how the ML handles the idea of a harem. It's short, very funny, and won't spoil any of the story for you.
