Title Ai Long Nhai
After watching episode 2 I have mixed feelings. Am I the only one who thinks everything is rushed? The episode…
I think that might be bad subitles. Maybe he was tellng Nhai what he wanted to do for him, not what he's done.

But I agree it was rushed. I thought Nhai's processing was paced very well, but the trial period idea was way too sudden and it didn't work for me.

I thought it was quite clear that he was crying because of his confusion. That's why he said he needed to be alone to process what happened.

Youtube doesn't work in many places, including the US, so I watched i on IQIYI.

Title Ai Long Nhai
I actually liked that. First off all, it's quite extraordinary for a character to be confused about his sexuality, and he actually did what a normal human being does, he googled it, found everything online ridiculous, then went to am older friend to talk about it.

I also liked that there is a carnal aspect to their attraction and it's not another bad Jane Austen novel.

I thought Nhai's reaction after it happend was really well-done - no OTT behavior, restrained tears, confusion, and a need to be alone to process, and communicating that. That was the best bit of acting from Ping, and one of the only moments where he really had the opportunity, which leads to one of the problems: the script and directing.

Nhai is going through something difficult, and they had him talking to himself though the whole thing, which is poor writing. Also, they don't seem to know what to include and what to leave out. For a trivial example, when Nhai thinks of P'Sweetie, we don't need to see him call and have a boring conversation to set up meeting - he can just show up there after remembering her. There's a lot of extraneous stuff that drags on the narrative.

And the subtitles are terrible - any nuance of the dialog is lost. If anyone has seen better subs somewhere, let us know.

The resolution was a bit rushed - in contrast to Nhai's confusion after That Night, his deciding to do a trial relationship was too sudden. It would have worked better if it were Ai's idea.

But none of that matters because I'll watch every minute of this series in hope of getting another glimpse of Meen with his shirt off, because Jesus H Christ - that was one of the most perfect bodies I've ever seen. I would drown a puppy for five minutes with him. (I wouldn't. But I would snatch away its chew toy.)

Episode 2The good: -I'm shallow. i want to rub oil over Meen's chest. Sue me. The chest alone makes him an upgrade…
I completely disagree. I think Ping is a better an actor than Meen. Are you sure the imbalance isn't really that Ping is 18, and a boy, and Meen is 23 - he a man. He a hot man. There's just no comparison between them in that regard - Meen is so much sexier and has so much more presence that it may come off as imbalance.

I think people thought Ping's crying over being heartbroken was supposed to be serious - but it wasn't, it was supposed to be cartoonish. When he cried after sex, I thought it was perfect - not overdone, just tears. Meen, though, in that confrontation against the fence was really stiff, and when he was asking Ai to let him take him home it was annoying, not sweet.

The other problem Ping had was instead of just having him act out how he was feeling, they had him constantly talking to himself, which is really weak writing and boring.

The acting skills are below zero. I mean please...that crying by Ping (Nhai) made me go "wtf am I even watching".…
If you mean the crying at the beginning, it was supposed to be cartoonish. When he was crying after the sex, he did it very well.

I agree - it's like it's trying anything and everything to not be a BL.

But what do you mean by Addicted? They were never apart.
That had it's cute moments, but I think they made Matsuoka a little too repugnant. I think again we're facing that situation where something that works on the page doesn't work as well in live-action - in a manga he's cute and surly, but here he's just surly and unpleasant.

Hopefully he lightens up before the last 10 seconds of Ep 8.

Anyway, I liked his friend translating what he was saying - that was funny.

I hear there's no Rain until next week... See you next week. I have no interest in anything other than Rain and…
I commented above that this entire episode could have been replaced by a placard reading "3 months later". You missed absolutely nothing, except that it's 3 months later.
On Oh! My Sunshine Night Oct 4, 2022
Questions of the week:

- What do those men think they're going to find wandering around a forest? Assuming Kim could be anywhere in Thailand, the chances of find him there are astronomical - seriously, the chance of an asteroid hitting the earth is higher. If they're looking for Rain, it's even lower. They should be searching the path of the helicopter and the villa they departed from.
- What kind of a moron would try to hide someone in a huge villa for 3 months without moving him? I meana, how hard would it be for the doctor to have all properties owned by the family/company searched?
- How is it possible that Santi can't tell he doctor is the mastermind just by looking at her? And how hard is it to work out? Good Lord. (And why is Lift only credited as a "guest actor" when he has a larger role than all the supporting characters combined minus Payoo & Rain? I guess once you past age 25 or so you get tossed into the "guest" heap.)
- Are you trying to tell me that nobody but the butler is trying to investigate the murder of an entire family of billionaires? It's so patently obvious who did it that the authorities would be all over her. Let's see. Who suddendly decided not to take the helicopter and who benefited the most from the tragedy? Who could that be... hmmm...
- Who wears a sweater to bed in a tropical country?
- Why did I ever think Fluke was a good actor? I'll grant that this must a profoundly uninspiring role for him, but come on - what was that this episode? Did he forget to read the script? All he does is wander around looking confused. Ohm showed up for work. I'll give him that.
- Did nobody watch this episode before they aired it? The whole thing could have been deleted and replaced by a placard at the beginning of the next ep reading "3 months later".

Who writes nonsense like this? How did we get from a romance between musicians to a completely ridiculous and unthrilling thriller plot? People watch BL for, well, BL. They haven't had the couples even onscreen together for 2 episodes.

Up until this silly plot turn there were things I was enjoying about this series ("things" being Payoo, Rain, and Payoo & Rain), but without all my things, this is so dry and boring. I like looking at Peterpan, but I could just check out his social media and then my skip-button finger would be less sore.

I don't think In would have regardless of Mol. He wouldn't do it even when they were alone. The point is he can't…
That's a good point - I don't think Mol is nearly to blame as everyone paints her because I think In would have made the same choices despite her, and Wang is confident and well-adjusted which is usually due to receiving plenty of parental love (controlling or not. Let's not pretend parents don't have a tendency toward being controlling, especially with a first or only child). But she did drive a schedule that likely had an impact on both In and Wang about how they viewed time.

I wasn't bothered by Wang's behavior because he's 20. But I do think people are harsh on In - there is no way I would agree to essentially marry a 20-year old after knowing him for three days - especially not the son of my first and greatest love! That would be so weird - they probably even look similar. But I probably would have said "let's take it slow - go home with your mother now and come visit soon and let's get to know each other" because Wang is hot and I don't give a sh@# whose kid he is, I would definitely tap that. Or in this case, get tapped by that.

Having an In is fairly common for young gay men, or it was. I'm sure the writer did, or was an In, which may be why the writing was so authentic an powerful. I definitely have a Mol, although not quite that bombastically histrionic. I suppose we all do, to a degree.

I am grateful that Fahlan and Sher didn't kiss after Sher vomited. I kept dreading it will happen all the way…
I relaxed a little after the shower because I assumed they brushed their teeth before bed. But I was kind of cringing whenever Sher had his face a few inches from Fahlan's, because that must have been very unpleasant, not to mention that when you've just seen someone projectile vomit for the 8th time, you have to be a little afraid it could happen again at any moment.

Thank you! The uke character is often like this - so passive as to barely have agency. I wonder sometimes if the author inserts herself into the story as the uke in order to be with a fantasy boyfriend and then neglects character development because it's her and 'her' is static.

Title The Eclipse
New law of physics invented in the series; pushing one away in the shower cabin will bounce him back to kiss you…
I was watching them, and I skim through their stuff to catch good moments, especially if people are mentioning them here. But that accidental kiss killed it for me. Just as I got over that they did something similar. And then they did it again. I like the actors, but their relationship is too repetitive for me to enjoy. But I watch enough to keep up with the story. Like I watched the sscene where Ayan had the dream and Akk helped out.

Yes - and it has a real effect. If people's attraction for each other is based solely on being pushed into accidental kisses, it's just not as engaging as people falling in love with each other due to a deeper connection, like Khan and Thua.

For some reason BL shoves the main couple into the bag of tropes an cliches in addition to the "schtick" of the story - I tihnk that's the basis of Secondary Couple Syndrome - because there's more freedom to develop their relationship organically it's more interesting, engaging, and relatable.

I don't think In would have regardless of Mol. He wouldn't do it even when they were alone. The point is he can't…
I had an In (with me as Siam except I didn't die). He never dealt with it. It does matter how accepting parents are - mine never really addressed the subject and while I never got support, I did have room to figure things out myself. My "In"'s father was a hyper-macho FBI agent who was emotionally abusive and would likely have harmed him. For me it was mostly just societal pressure - for him, the shame and self-loathing was imposed by his father as well, which is much worse. Unfortunately his mother didn't find the strength to throw out her husband until it was too late. It's sad - I've never been that much in love with someone, and I never will be again.

We got the impression from things In said that his family was a big part of the problem.

But I think there are two huge and important factors at play: 1) This story took place over 3 days. That's a whole lot for In to unpack that quickly - TBH, I think if Wang hadn't beat him over the head with it and gone more slowly, In could come around in time. There is an impatience of youth factor at play - In is deepy introspective and solitary, and having some 20-year old burst into your life and proclaim his love is not something you just drop everything for. Especially given who Wang is, which is 2). That adds a huge layer of complexity - In doesn't just have to deal with the idea of being with someone who's little more than a child, Wang is his One True Love's child, and the focal point of all his pain and guilt - his fear isn't just for himself, but for screwing up Wang more than he already has.

For what it's worth, it's not a sad ending.
Yes, there is a big difference between tolerance and acceptance. I worked at a Korean firm and they tolerated gays, but thought we were unsuitable for leadership positions.
