It threw me off how they kept switching sides without a natural flow. First one of them is on top and then switch…
They are wonderful together. I'm not taking anything away from them - I'm just saying with a good writer and cinamatographer they would be "next level". The direction of the love scene wasn't very good either, but at least the director is getting good performances out of everyone, so it's not all bad.
You`re kidding right? Every word made it hawt! like scorching ๐ณ๐ฅต
Their good acting in making us believe they're into each other made it hawt, and their delivery of bad lines was about as good as anyone could have done, but:
"You like this suit?" [he's already taken it off] "I like the one wearing it, too."
"Go ahead, P'Payu, do me." "What a tease" [He's not being a tease, he's asking to be f@#$ed, which is the opposite of being a tease.]
"P'Payu, you said you're happy when you're with bikes, right? But I'm happier to spend a moment like this with you. This is also riding." "I'll train you to be the best rider."
That is objectively awful. And watching it again just made me notice even more technical mistakes.
If they had been taking turns reciting the a nursery rhyme it would have been just as hot, or hotter.
Eegh. Someday these two will be put in something good and they'll take over BL. That love scene had first-rate acting and the music was good, but the choreography of the scene was bad and the camera work and editing worse. They should have just given the actors general instructions and let them do their thing. It looked so much like a list of boxes to check and had no organic flow, sometimes with Noeul anticipating Boss's moves. He slams his own hand up against the wall and Boss grabs it, he flings himself around to press himself face-first against the wall before Boss spins him (and then strangely turns him back around), one of Nouel's legs is pulled up to Boss's waist, box checked, leg comes down, etc. The sound gave out a couple of times, and I don't know what that editing was. And what was with the premature, ah, finish?
And the dialog - yikes. I don't like it when nobody says anything in a love scene, and points for trying, but it would have been better if they hadn't talked.
Also, 98% of us are gay men or women, so motorcycle racing is a big yawn. Sports where the guys don't wear much, yay, when you can't remember which is which, boo.
Anyway, I don't think any two actos have ever been more convincing as guys who are into each other both emotionally and physically. They save it from all the negative qualities of this, which is more or less everything except the acting. The entire cast of this is excellent.
My thoughts exactly ๐ขI guess I'll have to watch it because of himChange Krist?๐๐๐what did that guy…
"I'm not gay"is not the same as "ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!" with 50 angry emojis, and regarding feelings about gay scenes saying "Guys shouldn't want to watch that so I ff to straight couples" is homophobic. That's not rumor, he put it in writing.
It wasn't about him "having a say" in what roles to play. It was about the fact that he denigrated bls as something…
He didn't say that though. He was making a joke, and people got oversensitive. It's clear his interests are in directing, not acting. And in case the joke escaped anyone, you can't be a main character actor in a BL if you're old.
What exactly was the "shit talk" about the genre? Did he say it sucks or is bad? If he feels that way, why has he directed two and written and produced one of those. Have you spent any of your money producing a BL? I tihnk people are making a lot of assumption about what he seems to have viewed as being transparent with his fans. I agree with you it would have been better to just not say anything, but don't forget that in the context of the Thai BL industry, that would mean he also wouldn't be attending fan meets and pretending to date Plan, which might upset fans if they were unaware of it.
A smart joke was also probably not a good idea, but my sense of humor gets me in trouble too, so I'm sympathetic.
I ageee with you too. Itโs the same way they keep attacking Krist.
I'm totally sympathetic to snapping at people - you of course shouldn't, but we're all human. If someone asks me something stupid before I have my coffee they're putting themselves at risk.
But he was doing it on IG where you have to actually write something. And calling someone a stupid bitch for asking if you're gay is OTT. It's a rude question, of course, but he's supposed to be a professional - and this wasn't a reporter, it was one of his fans. In an interview he was asked how it felt to watch steamy BL scenes in Friend Zone and he replied "That's not something guys should want to watch, so I skip to the straight couples." He's also had to apologize for racist comments and rape jokes. It feels a little like a pattern.
Nothing Mean said or did was actually homophobic - everyone just chooses to interpret it that way.
I somehow forgot to watch this, so I just watched Ep 5. Are you jealous? I have 3 more eps to watch and you don't. :)
This is the show that made me like BL again. I usually don't like fluff, but somehow this works. It's partly the superaturally cute cast, their excellent and natural acting, the script, which makes everyone act their age for once, and while I wouldn't exactly say it's trope-free, it doesn't lean too heavily on them.
He himself said he wouldn't do another BL unless he was old and needed money. You can look it up. So yea he can…
I'm saying his actions are more important, and he has directed two BLs, written one of them, and produced it meaning he spent his own money on it. That isn't biting any hand, and if anyone thinks that doesn't outweigh one offhand joke, well, then I think Jesus would be disappointed in them. People are way too brittle and way, way to anxious to be outraged.
The yearbook was one of the best series made by a debut director, it has slow place with moving pictures, cinematography,…
I actually really disliked it, but I do appreciate the passion and skill that went into it. It was beautifully shot and acted, the music was great, etc., but the oppressive pacing and and repetitive plot made for bleak viewing. But not knowing what to cut out is the most common failing of a first-time director, epecially one that loves what he's doing. There's a saying "be prepared to cut your favorite scene."
That's something that improves with experience. But you either have a talent for directing and cinematography or you don't, and he does, so count me in.
Although I'm not sure I can sit through another bad Ja wig. :)
Regarding Mean, if you can't tell he was joking when he said he'd consider a BL role when he's old and broke, I don't know what to say to you, but ask yourself, what's the one quality you absolutely can't have in a BL rol? Fat? No. "Flaming"? No. Really short? No. Hint: it's being old.
Second, when he discussed not taking on BL roles, he was being transparent with fans, not disprespecting them. And if you listen, he said "main" roles.
Third, do you really think it would be fun to be a BL actor? You get paid about $300 per ep and you have to go to dozens of fan meets. You've seen videos of these - do you want to stand on a stage all day pretending to be into a coworker while 1,000 13-year old fujoshis are screeching at you? What if you're an introvert?
People put so much effort into being offended - it's funny, somee people don't like to see honest criticism of BLs, but have no problem tearing down an actual human being, labeling him a homophobe, and boycotting his projects. So why is a homophobe directing BLs? Why did he write The Yearbook and produce it (meaning he spent money on it)?
How many of you routinely watch pirated versions? So you can actually rob BL productions, and that's OK, but what Mean said isn't. What a bunch of lovely people.
