I forgot to say - Michael Kiettisak. Jesus Christ. He inhabits that role to such an extent that I'm worried it may damage him. I can't believe it - I don't think I've seen a more total performance than this in any BL ever made, including ITSAY. He's just good, period, by any standards, not just BL - he could hold his own with the best film actors.
Tee is one of the creepiest villains ever, but you have to give it to Kenneth Won - he's doing a fantastic job with the role. Tee could have been an OTT 2D villain, but he makes him loathesome and human at the same time.
I cannot even begin to put into words how little I care about James/Ait. I fast forward through all of their seems…
James told Tee that if he ever lays so much as a finger on Bas again, he would personally destroy him, so I don't really think I can agree he's a pushover.
Someone better hold me back. That little rat Ait really came over to Bas’ so that they could get to the bottom…
Well, someone did something incredibly malicious that could destroy him and James both, so it's not some frivolous concern he had, and Ait doesn't have the insight into what's happening with Bas that Marco has, plus it hadn't even occurred to him that it was Bas who did it, so I don't see it quite as negatively as you do. Last episode his jealousy was ridiclous and made me want to slap him silly, but I don't think he did anything wrong this ep.
Anyone else done with Ait and James and how this season seems to be focused on them once again, instead of the…
Did you see today's episode? It seemed thoroughly Bas-centric to me. In fact it was 100% Bas-centric except for the first scene, which I could have done without.
I think we're starting to get overly harsh about James and Ait. What Bas did was a serious betrayal, and while we understand it because we've been given a window into Bas' situation, Ait doesn't have the same context. All he can see is that someone he trusted did something incomprehensibly malicious, and he has every reason to be hurt and upset.
James finally manned up this episode and stood up to Tee in no uncertain terms - does he get no credit for that? His relationship with Ait is relevant to the theme of the story, which is that people have to hide who they are and who they love because that's what the fandom demands. They don't need to spend as much time on it as they do, and Ait's psycho jealousy of Marco is hard to get past, but the storyline not irrelevant.
This is not a standard BL. If you're here for cute relationships between cute boys, you're in the wrong place, and you're only going to be disappointed if that's what you're expecting. This isn't that kind of story.
I think we can all guess that Marco is speeding somewhere as fast as he can go right now and will probably get there in time, but this is not a light-hearted fantasy like almost all BL. There's nothing wrong with light-hearted fantasy - it's why I watch BL - but it's not fair to expect it where it isn't pretending to be.
Chiming in to say that I don't like James. He's both wimpy and creepy at the same time. And puh-leeze gurl... your…
Agree about the hair, but not the creepy & wimpy. Sometimes "creepy" is a fig leaf for "unattractive". We don't want to say someone is unattractive because that's judging someone by their appearance, whereas "creepy" s a personality trait and so fair game.
James stood up to Tee and threatened him if he ever touched Bas again. That is not wimpy.
I think it's fair to say James and Ait are the director's fantasy fulfillment, since James is him - he's giving himself the cute boy. While James and Ait's relationship is relevant to the story, I don't think we need moments like the opening scene, which added nothing to the story and used up a valuable chunk of time.
What is happening to Bas and Kaprao (sexual harassment by their superior) and what is happening to Ait and James…
I think the objection to Ait & James is that it comes off as fantasy-fulfillment by the director, which obscures the message of the story. I do feel that way to an extent - not so much this ep, although the opening scene seemed self-indulgent to me.
lol Thanks for the quick review. i'm going to check out the first episode anyway just to see how bad it really…
Social issues are preachy and tiresome when it's characters standing around talking about them. If it's integral to the plot, great. I'll take anything over uber-rich engineering students at this point.
there must be a way for you to criticize this show without making jokes at the expense of people with disabilities,…
There's nothing wrong with having disabilities, so I don't see anything at anyone's expense. Are you saying you think people with disbilities are lesser or something? That's kind of patronizing.
One thing I can answer, fiat and Leo has been extent close since they were kids, I think fiat thought it was hard…
It's a little ridiculouos though, for grown adults to be having this problem and not even discussing it. And like I said, how is it hard to ask Leo for a hug, but easy to masturbate in Leo's bed?
Oh...my god, I'm dying lol. I have no answers to your other questions, but as to the first one, that's not Deutschland…
They don't really bother to check what the song is - there have also been Christmas carols used as background music. Most likely they just search for free music online. Someone heard the tune, thought it was catchy, it was probably labeled in German so they couldn't read it, and they just used it.

I do know - I was just being funny. I thought the first two stanzas weren't used - the second is also a bit problemmatic, from a "me too" perspective. They should have just dumped the whole thing and switched to Beethoven's Ode to Joy.
OK. I want to be more positive, but there are a couple of problems that are hard to overlook. I can get past the total lack of acting ability, the dull story, the unintentionally comical fight scenes, the low budget & related incredibly intrusive product placement, the incomprehensible stupidity and incompetence of the gangsters, Din's minor superpower (the ability to have or not have a ponytail from scene to scene) and even grandma being so happy her only male descendant is banging a guy (or being banged by a guy, or both. Since the pair never even touched each other, it's hard to tell).
But I can't get past the trans-shaming - even in the middle of the climactic life-or-death struggle, she's a pathetic joke character and takes time to sexually harass the police.
The other thing that's hard to get past is there is absolutely no BL in this whatsoever, unless you count brief handholding and a kiss on the cheek, but only while pretending to be together.
The cast is really attractive (even the director is a hottie), but there needed to be more shower scenes - if you're going to hire people for their looks instead acting ability, let's see some skin.
I appreciate the attention to social issues, I'm beyond grateful that this isn't about ridiculously weathy engineering students,
The grandmother was fantastic - I almost wonder if they got the actor playing Din's real grandmother and tricked her into thinking he'd left her - she was that convincing.
i don't think it was that bad lol but also some men are not good kissers. the biggest issue i have is how he abandoned…
I don't think the episode was bad, and I would have appreciated it more if it had been in the middle of the series where it could have informed the plot and helped us understand Yu Zhen. Throwing it in the end, when we wanted to see YZ and Shi Lei as a couple was irritating, and they could at least have made it up to us by having Hank take his shirt off or something.
It's hard not to be angry after watching the latest episode - I'm angry at myself for wasting so much time on this series. So the big confession we've been waiting for was done OVER THE PHONE? It wasn't even split-screen so we could see them both. Who wrote this?!? What made anyone think that watching people on the phone and texting for an hour would be compelling watching? And look who he DID talk to in person!
And BL is starting to get paralyzed by the inexplicable need that every director seems to have to just have characters standing around staring at each other endlessly without saying anything. Why bother hiring actors? Just get mannequins - you can pose them however you want, and they won't complain if you don't feed them. And they won't get heat stroke if you make them wear sweaters in a tropical country where it's never below 30 degrees.
I'm not sure I've ever dropped a show this close to the end, but I don't really care what happens to any of the characters anymore.
