This one is hard to beat - it's so well-written and acted. I just binged it again. The payoff in this works so much better than in most BLs - I guess it's that all the drama was internal, i.e. people coming to terms with themselves and their feelings, and not a million external problems that fall out of the sky like evil girlfriends that were never mentioned until 8 episodes in.
Funnily enough, that's precisely why I like this show. Taekyung and Shinwoo being endgame isn't surprising at…
Hmm. I guess where I differ is that the show isn't keeping me guessing. It's been completely obvious Shin Woo is endgame from the start. Now if that's NOT what happens, I'll be truly surprised and delighted. But if they don't get together, then what was the point of Shin Woo's character at all? He just gets nothing after doing almost nothing?
I would rewatch WYEL. That's just two hours of your time instead of 8 wasted on this. The problem is one of the…
Your last sentence made me LOL - that would be awkward. I feel bad for Gun's friends and family - I hope they're better actors than he is. That was super mean to say, but I think it was funny and I stand by it.
Well, I thought that would be excruciating, but it was merely dull with a few good action scenes, mostly Bank-related. The ones with Sun were pretty good, but he and his opponents did that thing where they just stand there and wait to be punched so they can take their turn to punch back, which is a little silly-looking. But it was well-filmed.
I really wish they could stop making Gun have to act angry. Can't he just be tired or sad? His angry just doesn't work.
This series might have worked better if it had been more of a straight comedy. The premise and plot are so ridiculous as it is that it would have made sense to do it that way, and that would have sidestepped Gun's limitations and played to his strengths.
I’m not gonna pretend that Gun’s acting is anywhere near Oscar-worthy, but I really don’t think it’s half…
He's good at comedy and passable at many other things, but he's awful at anger, and he's called about to express it so often in this that it's excruciating. It's one fixed expression and one tone of voice at a fixed (loud) volume. It's so bad that it's hard to blame it on him - he should have been given acting coaching or not cast in the role.
it’s indeed but but u gotta watch love by chance if u want to see real bad acting 🤣
If I tried my best at acting, it would still be terrible. Trying my best isn't good enough if I fail all the time, and perhaps I should move on to something I'm good at. I would hope people around me wouldn't let me embarass myself over and over and encourage me to take up a pursuit I can be successful at.

This is a discussion forum where we discuss how we feel about how we watch. Many of us feel Gun is terrible and ruining what could have been a fun show. If that's the truth for us, then we're not going to lie about it. If people were saying Gun is stupid and a bad person, that would be out of line. But people have been fairly specific that he's awful at acting anger. He's a good comic actor, but drama is beyond him.
Bullying is a serious problem, and calling this bullying is trivalizing people's pain.
trope is similar to where your eyes linger, hmmm is this any good? worth watching?
I would rewatch WYEL. That's just two hours of your time instead of 8 wasted on this. The problem is one of the lead actors is terrible, but in a bad way. Or skim through it for the side couple, which is wonderful. The bodyguard takes his shirt off occassionally, and that's fairly spectacular, but is it enough to invest 8 hours? I'm shallow, so "yes", but I can't recommend it.
Gun is the worst actor that I have ever seen. It's just insane how bad he is. How he managed to get a main role…
Everybody kept getting mad at me for saying that until Ep 6. I think maybe LBC has a warm spot in everyone's heart and since he was just a comic side character in that show his bad acting wasn't a big deal. In this series, for a while I could tolerate it mostly because they would strategically take off Boat's shirt, but they've stopped doing that so now I tend to FF through eps for PitchBank scenes.
Man the second couple syndrome is so strong in this one... I can't really get into the main couple but PitchBank…
For UWMA I ended up fastforwarding though all the endless staring scenes to get to the TeamWin scenes. For this series, I really enjoy looking at Boat, so I'm in a quandry. But if it weren't for PitchBank, I'm not even sure I'd skim it for the occassional shirtless Boat scene.
it's good enough to pass the time. it might seem fine at first but it won't sustain your interest or engross you…
OMG, "I wouldn't rely on someone who says this is their favorite because it just can't be." That really made me laugh. That was also my reaction to people saying Nitman was their favorite. I feel like saying, "Oh, then you must have missed every other BL that's ever been made."
The title says it all. You should know what you're getting when the very first scene is out of focus. The story idea isn't the same old thing, but the execution... there was an unintentional LOL moment when a character flashes back to a scene that just happened. I don't mean like a minute ago, I mean just a few seconds ago.
There's a really strange and somewhat disturbing love scene where it looks like one of them is having great sex, and the other one hates it - he looks like it's making him ill. The acting is not good, althouh the Greyson Jay isn't too bad - he's at least committed to the scene and not looking at the camera all the time.
For me to watch something like this, there needs to be a good message, or social commentary, or something, anything. You can't hang a show on the abs and pecs of one actor - if I want to see that (I do), I can just go to his instagram and tiktok and not have to sit through this series to get to the good stuff.
Facts!!! But I'm still grateful for the fact that Korea's finally pursuing on creating contents like this. Baby…
One thing I'll say is that it's coherently written, which is a nice change - nobody has the power to teleport 20 miles to the middle of a forest when the plot needs him there, etc., and people behave consistently in character.
Well, I can save you time. Shin Woo is 100% endgame which was made clear in the first 30 seconds of the show when…
I shouldn't have said "waste of time" it's more like "something I shouldn't bother investing in."
I did qualify my statement - the romantic lead can be nice from the start if he rescues the main character. They can't just meet and shake hands and be good friends. There is a rare alternative where the romantic lead intrudes into the main character's life to be nice in an intially unwelcome way.
The problem for me is that they've neglected TK and Da On - they need to have been interacting more - the intense focus on Da On hasn't left much time to develop Shin Woo and TK, like in the example FUTS, the main character can be pursing the "wrong" lead while the story is still focused on the eventual main couple. This is better written than FUTS, but this is an issue that's not really let me get into this story.
