My thoughts. I think Mild is a cutie patootie. I just don't see much going on with him and Knight, though, and…
When Kan said "be careful, they're sharp" I thought "they are not going there." But this is a genre where an uke can sever an artery by accident with a butter knife, so using real swords in a play isn't that far-fetched.
Definitely watch now. If you binge it you'll fall into a coma. I'm not saying it's not worth watching, but the pacing is slooow. Not the "plot", but every individual scene, which involves a LOT of staring, mostly blank. It might get tedious to watch more than one ep a week. I will say I generally enjoy the eps when I watch them, and the love scene we've gotten so far was really good.
Plot? Minimal. Screen time? Mostly Per and Kan. And yes, the bed scene delivered. Bonus points for proper condom…
Some (or preferably all) of them could just have male exes instead of tiresome and/or evil female ones - this IS a BL after all. A lot of BL writers are just stuck on the fantasy of straight guys boinking each other and it's a trope that dies hard. This series is better than most in that at no point does anyone make some comment like their love interest is the only man they've ever been or ever will be in love with.
- Long as hell (8+ minutes)- No alcohol before - Mutual consent- Protection, property used- Position changes-…
TBH, anal sex is a big production and I'm usually happy with just oral. But oral is a little harder to film in non-porn, so I can forgive it in this particular scene, which was very long. If they did oral at the same pace as the rest of the sccene, you'd have to show only one of them for several minutes, which could be boring.
Come to think of it, there is almost never oral in BL. You could easily film it in a short scene where you only need to have a few seconds and show a reaction. Maybe some female writers have a bias against it?

Prep is an obsession of female fanfic writers, not actual gay men and isn't necessary for an experienced man. if you're not expecting to have sex, then you probably want to do something, but most people expecting to bottom are ready.
So, both couples had non-explicit love scenes, and of the two, it was implied that Rati and Thee wemnt "all the way", but Mek and Dech didn't.
But Rati and Thee were ridiculous and artificial, and Mek & Dech were hot. Why? First of all, they're fully-realized characters, whereas Rati and Thee ate caricutures with no human qualities, and neither actor looks like they want to be anywhere near a BL, whereas Boom and Aou commit 100%. Second, there's no heat between Rati & Thee. Is there anyone here who would not have at least involuntarily glanced at the muscles when Thee took his shirt off? You'd just maintain eye contact through that? Com on. You can hyper-romanticize somthing to the point that it's sexless. I don't need to see sex, but I need to see that the characters want it.
The only scene with them that was because they actress playing Rati's mother is awesome and pumped some life into the scene. Both Great and Inn have been wonderful in other things, but they are just absent from the BLs they've attempted.
Fortunately I have Mek and Dech to keep me involved.
this is FICTION not documentary if you want documentary then go watch it instead
What's that supposed to mean? That's not a valid argument - if something is a historical drama, then it needs to be consistent. If you're watching a drama set in Bangkok but it's clearly filmed in Paris, is that OK?
But that being said, I don't think it applies to this series - sure, it's not 100% period, but it's close enough. If it were 100% accurate, Thee would never be out in public without a train of servants, that shopkeeper would be bowing in terror to have Dech in his store carrying things around, and it would be raining 75% of the time. Plus, Banglok wouldn't just have one street. They don't have $100M to film this...
Ok I started this on a whim and damn, I love it. It's so fun and cute and the premise is really interesting too.Visuals…
BL audiences freak out more over age difference than they do non-consent. Add to that the "creepy" grandfather-in-grandson's-body thing (which doesn't bother me in the slightest).
This isn't bad, but the director (and/or editor) needs to give some real thought to pacing. There is way, way too much staring, and the progression of the main couple's relationship is disjointed and it needs to move in one direction absent anything to change the momentum. Mild is so hot and cold that it's confusing. But he's just adorable so I forgive him.
I think being kinda dumb with a little bit of an ego goes with being a successful pop star in most dramas whether…
It isn't being effeminate that is weakness, it's if he proves useless and depends on the protection of a "real" man. I want to see him fend for himself, not run screaming away from danger all the time.
I thought Secret Crush On You had strong portrayals of campy effeminate men, two of which had arcs to reach self-actualization and the main character, who started off confident and strong.
What I'd really like to see is an effeminate character that's the seme, but that will never happen..
I understand just fine, thanks. The age gap between them is still weird when an adult doing a full time job (that…
I meant in the acceptance of ukes in general, not you, but that is a good point about whataboutism.
I do understand your point about the gap here - that in itself bothered me less because Yo was the initiator, but in general my problem with their relationship was that it didn't feel like it had any place in the story - and I read in the comments section that the novel this series was based on was not a BL. There was no buildup of their relationship - it just... happened, for both characters, and felt contrived and artificial.
Not only was Yo immature and impulsive, it was out of character for Jom to be attracted to him (as a partner. Physically, I can totally see it.)
I felt a lot more from the straight couple, even though they only had 2 minutes of screen time.
I like everything about this series... except the main romance, which is so dull and bloodless that I have to skip over it. It wants to be a gay Sense and Sensibility, but there is no spark. Thee can say all the romantic things, and make all the romantic gestures, but I see no evidence in his comportment that says love, nor from the other direction. His weird stares have no fire in them - no passion at all - he looks like he's admiring a fine painting (not that Inn isn't a fine painting, because he is just that pretty). This would be more enjoyable for me if they were just friends, because then I wouldn't be disappointed.
TBH, Guy does a much better job of showing interest in Rati - I wish it could have been between them. But nobody even approaches Aou and Boom, who absolutely encapsulate young confused love. I believe every second of them - they make the show for me.
I liked it, but Nut is making his character a little too ridiculous. I like how camp he is, and I can understand him being confused at first, but I'd like him to not be an idiot - too often in Thai series, effeminacy is equated with weakness and stupidity.
There are so many hot men in this that I probably won't be able to drop it - so I'll either love it, or love to hate-watch it.
