It is less a sign of how many people were dissatisfied and more a sign of how mad the group that didn't like it was, leading them to give angry 1 stars. Endings are always polarizing and bring out strong reactions. Instead of giving maybe a 5 star for an episode that didn't live up, people will give 1 out of anger for last episodes. Tale as old as time 😅

Since this is a fantasy drama it is hard to point to any meaning of the costumes as there is not always any historical meaning or significance. Still I am wondering if anyone has any ideas on the implications of GYJ Naksu's costuming shown in the preview?

I really feel for GYJ. She has a lot on her shoulders and no matter what there will be people who hate on her. If she can even halfway pull it off I think it will be a huge accomplishment as it is an almost impossible task.

I'm surprised by how many people were content to see the show end with Uk and Mu Deok living their happily ever after, with Naksu still in Mu Deok's body and nobody finding out she is Naksu. That would have been so uncomfortable to me 😬

Yes, totally. I'm not expecting it to go off without a hitch. But all these people saying "Hong Sisters should listen to the audience and do this, or people will be mad" is silly especially when not everyone wants the same thing 😅 What's done is done and we will see how it unfolds.

One way or another people are going to be unhappy 😅 No JSM, people will be unhappy. A little JSM, people will say she shouldn't be in it. The writers should just do what is needed for the story because there is no pleasing everyone.

I don't think JSM's feelings would be hurt lol. She's a professional actress who knew what she was signing onto and for how long. You can say the same for any actor who ever had a character who died in a show and then didn't get to join next season...that is just how TV works. Not to mention, we don't yet know what will happen with the Bu Yeon story. She may not be lead actress but I don't think this is the last time we will see So Min 😉

From the looks of it Part 2 is going to lean into the show's more serious side and give us some more magic/fighting scenes. At least, I hope so!

I agree with your assessment! I do also agree that it depends on Part 2. If the second part is really packed then I will be more willing to retroactively forgive some of the filler here. Still would wish they cut it down, but if I can understand why they stretched it so Part 2 can be more contained, then I won't be so bothered.

Honestly, I wasn't feeling too excited about Part 2 because my interest has been declining with this slower second half of the show. However, criticisms and annoyances aside, that finale really delivered for me, and Part 2 looks like it's going to be giving more of what made me excited about Alchemy at the start. They have successfully hooked me back in 😅 Brava!

I think things are going to get worse before they get better for all our main characters including Yul. However I think the scene in this episode giving the love line closure at least decreased the chances of Yul sacrificing himself for Naksu or anything like that, since it wouldn't really make sense anymore. So maybe that is comforting to Yul lovers 😅

Yes but her being in Mu Deok's body will also be a mess and bring a lot of trouble once certain things are revealed too. Living forever in that body brings complications as well. Neither path is effortless once all the secrets come out.

I see your point however if Naksu goes back to her old body that doesn't mean she has to go back to the person she was. She has changed as a person no matter what body she is in. If this were the end of the show it would be cruel to leave it with her being forced back. But we have 10 more episodes and of course they need to add more conflict before we get to the actual ending otherwise it would be boring. They can't have their happily ever after now with 10 episodes still left.
