Sure, I don't necessarily disagree on that point. Just with the part of feeling it's a different writer. Part 2 has this writer's signature all over it 😅
The longing and "impossible love" in part 1 was great, very well written and executed, having their pride and…
Overall I also prefer Part 1. However I think if you have seen writer's other works you will know for sure she wrote Part 2 and actually P2 feels like the writer's true intentions shining through. With her other Sageuk too her main interest is in writing about people, a nation, and historical events. In p2 that definitely takes control more than the romance.
I can't be the only one who feels that park eun bin can't seem to snap out of her woo young woo role. She's acting…
I really love Park Eun Bin but unfortunately I also feel something in her performance is off...The thing is, even the actress who played the young Mok Ha didn't play the character as immature as this. It feels like PEB is over-exaggerating it or acting too young and clueless. I mean, yeah, she missed out on a lot of social life/developments, but it's not like she was 6-years-old before or in a coma. She should be a little stunted but not acting like a child. I find it distracting unfortunately.
I never thought I could be sad about this but I actually am sad that there is hardly any Yeon Jun in Part 2. With Eun Ae I understand the actress is pregnant but they still could have found a way to give her a storyline...The writer supposedly spent 5 years writing this drama so wasn't there a storyline planned?
It is quite strange that 2 of the 4 main characters hardly have a spot in the drama. Meanwhile Gakhwa feels like a character thrown in last minute. It is honestly perplexing. I would trade her screentime for more of the characters we already had. Including the Crown Princess who is a great character, much more interesting.
I am glad it is only one more episode and I hope it really is for the integrity of the story and not just to milk more money out of this show.
It is crazy that the cast and crew are still working right up until the end...They have been at it for months with long nights. I can't imagine how tired they must be, especially our lead actors. I hope AEJ and NKM can rest a lot when it is over!
The princess character remains the biggest waste of screen time and seems so out of place. Everything seems semi…
Unfortunately I agree. 'Makjang princess' is a good way to put it. She belongs in an over the top palace drama that you watch to see everyone eat the scenery. Not a show like this. It is a shame too as she takes screentime away from characters I am actually interested in.
Namkoong Min gets a lot of praise for his acting here and he certainly deserves it, but Ahn Eun Jin should be getting a rain of praise too. Particularly in Ep 14 she was just amazing. Her emotions are so raw...When I finished the episode, I felt all her exhaustion like I had been through everything she went through.
What's amazing too is how Gil Chae is so different from the first few episodes of Part 1 but the transition has been so flawless and realistic because of Eun Jin's acting. Instead of being a totally different person it's the same recognizable Gil Chae but matured and weathered.
Every scene between Eun Jin and Namkoong Min is an emotional storm even when they are not saying anything. They are just amazing together. I can't imagine anyone else playing GC and JH.
kocowa uploaded the rewind film and BTS clips with ENG subs on their youtube channel in case anyone wants to watch
Thank you for sharing! From hearing the writer speak it confirms my thought that she is more interested in writing about the history and how people lived through it than the romance.
Since the beginning, this show has been calling out the impossible and unfair standards of purity, chastity and…
Great comment! I agree. I thought episode 11 was great but I wanted more of Gil Chae's interior character to come through. Excited for next episodes but I hope Part 2 doesn't go too far with turning Jang Hyun into a noble heroic figure...
