@Emily I had the same issue with EL hahaha and similarly to you, I actually was into Princess Agents more for its plot rather than it's romance since the romance didn't come full-blown until way later in the book as well. Princess Agents has honestly made me addicted just as much as EL did actually haha I am hopeless XD

depends on what you like but I find LLIT so far kind of messy and not super interesting (but this might be because they're still in the first time phase and they're rushing to get to the second time phase where the real story starts but also personally I don't enjoy this fast pace lol but that's just me!) and also I find Cecilia Liu's acting really mediocre in this. William Chan's pretty good. Special effects and CGI plus fighting scenes are quite nice though.

I'm afraid once they get to the second time phase that they'll slow down the amazingly speedy pace they're on right now LOL

the first 4-6 episodes are really fast, but I read on Weibo that it's fast only so that they can quickly get through the first time phase and get to the part where she resets the time and starts the second time phase. I don't know if they will continue this fast pace for the rest of the episodes though.

I've been skimming through this book the past few days and I think the story is actually pretty interesting and the romance is nice so I'm looking forward to it and also although I wish the male lead was someone else....I actually think Jin Han fits the male character description LOL so as long as his acting is on point then I'm good!! XD definitely watching this for ZLY though---haven't seen her in a modern cdrama in awhile

I'm lowkey kind of thankful that this drama is ending in August because I have to get myself together for school shortly after haha like omg I love this drama so much it literally takes up my entire life I'VE EVEN HAD DREAMS OF IT LOL

they cut out this one part in the book that occurs after CQ and YWY have finished all that bed-fighting stuff.
CQ tells YWY how she never really wanted to actually kill him (referring to all those times where she "tried" to kill him LOL) and that although she hated him intensely before, her feelings of hatred towards him has diminished a bit over the past few years (in the books she was with YX for 7 years, not 3 years). However, she still tells him that it is hard for them to stay companions because of that fact that she killed so many people close to him and he killed so many of her loved ones. In essence, she doesn't hate him, but I think during this part she doesn't exactly like him either, rather she is more conflicted towards YWY and their predicament. Wish they had kept this part for the drama tbh.
and even though I ship CQ/YWY sooooo much, I still think it's kind of normal in her case to not fully choose him....at least not this moment. Feelings,whether it be love or hate, just don't change that fast.

also for Battle of Changsha fans, isn't it funny seeing Niu Junfeng being Yuan Song here as an older, caring, protective brother in Princess Agents instead of the naughty, immature little brother he was in BoC?? it's almost like a complete 360 from his character in Battle of Changsha XD

@Linh You know how in the teaser for tmrw's episode CQ gets poisoned by one of those needle things?? So YWY decides to take her to somewhere (the places in the book have different names from the places in the drama so idk where this somewhere will be in the drama) to get cured of the poison. On the way, they save Ouyang Mo, whose family has been killed by YX. They take care of Mo'er for awhile but then CQ leaves YWY to go on her own way.....and then I stopped reading here lol so idk if she went directly to Yanbei or to visit XC or somewhere else or if they're going to change it for the drama tmrw

I remember these lines in the books!! but these lines are reallyyyyy far down the books.....like it's a couple chapters after the frozen lake part actually and wayyyy after she breaks it of with YX but oh boy I sure hope they filmed that far!!!

yes, in the book, Yuan Song ends up leaving the imperial city (he's kind of like forced to) and she's the only one who accompanies him. so it's kind of left in the open as to whether they did get married or not in the book.....but I don't think the drama is going to get that far????? so the MDL description might just be based on the book.

yes he is!! they filmed that scene where he just met her pretty much the exact same way as it was written in the book, including CQ beating him up and even the lines are pretty much the same. except in the book, instead of asking the emperor to have CQ be his personal bodyguard, he actually asked the emperor to allow CQ to marry him LOL but they changed it in the drama haahah

yup, most historical cdramas are dubbed, the modern cdramas have less dubbing. I think mainly due to the fact that there's just so much extra background sound for historicals (if you look at behind the scenes cuts you can hear these massive fan things soooo loud) and also the pronounciation needs to be more accurate for historical cdramas where as modern cdramas they are more lenient on the whole dialect/accent issue. I saw this one bts clip of ZLY and Shawn Dou doing their lines and they both had a funny (but very cute) accent to some of their words hehe.
and yup with the dubbing problem as @silvermcv mentioned but it was fixed after a few episodes so it's all good :D

yes they have the same dubbers!
William Chan has his Cantonese accent when he speaks Mandarin Chinese and it's hard to understand him so he has to be dubbed and Cecilia Liu's voice is kind of soft (plus there's so much sound when they film), and also both of those dubbers are like "A-List" dubbers so they dub a lot of cdramas. I really like the dubbers voices haha
