Title Five Enough
when it comes to family melodramas this is definitely top3 for me.i watched the more famous ones and since its…
after rewatching it i'll just say, the 'happy ending' or at least Lead Couple's relationship official establishment happens around episode 35 or so, and immediately after that there are many episodes in a row that the kids act bratty and annoyingly.
In my opinion this could last for 3-5 episodes and then continue with the other characters but it drags more than this.
It's not mood killing in any way though.
All relationships evolve organically mostly. Between lovers, between families, between inlaws, even between exes.

honestly that evil duck faced mother-in-law is irredeemable to the very end, the actress perfectly portrays the…
nah, nothing much to add.
Lee So Lees addition to this, and her character+her family was really unnecessary and added nothing to the plot or the overall feeling of it.
And confirming, for 44 straight episodes the duck lady is a trash. There is not even one second where she is not a selfish annoying monster, not even upon learning her mother is sick. As i watched it again i'd say FL's mother and her love interest could have a bit more of an evolution as a whole but it was fine the way it ended as well.
I'll say this as news though, FL and ML seemed to have more of a chemistry than i remember, and their age difference is less in real life than it seems like when watching this.
Anyway i won't change my rating . It's pretty spot on.

starts slow, and at least it continues with the same pace for quite a few episodes, unlike other dramas with constantly switching pace, it has a vibe and gets you into it, honestly if you don't get in the mood of this drama and try to enjoy both the darkness and the meanings involved in it you will most likely get bored and drop it.
It's not for everyone and it's not suitable at all times, after work for example this will probably make you defocus and get even sleepier/more tired.
But when you have the time like a Saturday or a Sunday give it a go and try to emerge yourself in it.
Overall it is enjoyable in its' own sense. No thrilling stuff, no thrilling romance story, no intriguing/delicate crimes/evil people , no super crazy antagonists or a super deep meaning but still really enjoyable and interesting.
Also the acting from FL and some of the secondary female roles is splendid. The apathy/sadness at points/random spurts of happiness/misery roller coaster is really well portrayed in their acting.
For ML and SML they tried to make their characters a tad bit more mysterious than they actually were but still no strong misses in eithers' character development.
A nice story, told as the writers intended im guessing, and a job well done.
Also noteworthy music department while it's kinda easy to find/play suitable music in a sad drama like this , it was very well timed and never shifted your focus out of the actual scene, in some scenes the music even made them more intense(sadder per se).
I think i might dig into FL's work, hope she showcases her characters as well as here!
I'd say 8.5/10 for this genre, even though it's kinda niche genre. I think 'It's okay not to be okay' kinda falls in the same generally speaking genre, other terminal-illness(+ making rash decisions cuz of it) dramas were either more romantically focused or faster paced and upbeat before the ending so i wouldn't really compare them.
I'll come edit since i'm rewatching it with a friend (of the opposite sex) so maybe they'll point out something i missed or get a different feeling out of it, also it's been around 6 months since i watched it so i'll try to pay attention to even more stuff (like clothing, scenery, camera work)

The cast definitely got benefitted from it by charging high fees but the movie wasn't able to earn even equal…
as expected from any sane person.
It was either money laundering, or amateur/new waters as far as a genre goes fro the writers. I wonder don't screenings happen between investors and producers during or close to the end of the shootings? ... suspicious.

as you'd expect from your typical korean KBS family 'drama' , evil people killing others, babies, framing others,…
also how much of an amateur writing this is...
102 out of 103 episodes and they try to make us feel sorry or pity the worst character of all.
If i started writing now, words wouldn't be enough to describe how bad this character was and how non remorseful they were. Koreans are such cowards.. Too scared to have someone get the hate from start to finish unconditionally because of netizens'(yikes korean invented thing) wrath towards the actor/actress.
When watching ANYTHING from KBS you should expect to have your blood boil to new highs, and hate a character so much you want to jump into the screen, but that's that. It's acting, why does this whiplash effect have to ruin so many dramas. Either make them less hateful, try to punish them earlier(not in the last episode FFS) so we can at least enjoy their downfall or just let em be and tank the hate from the public.
That's what happens when everyone pushes back juuuust a little. Actresses don't want their persona to go out with the most hate possible so they accept only if some over the top misfortune happens to their character so that maybe they can leave the drama with a sad/pitiful note, writers want to be able to cast actresses in these roles so they do the amateur thing they only know , which is to write the worst characters in the world but with those endings so that these roles won't be uncasted since no company would let their actress star in that role, and the public goes off hating while pleasure watching these melodramas for 100+ episodes , and not knowing their stupidity has power, going online and hating like crazy, making then the writers and agencies take these measures.
So no, possibly a couple if not just a handful 'family' dramas can be rated above 7-8/10 because of the endings, it's certain you'll have at least 3+ hateful evil characters, some more than the rest so you can keep the 50/100 episodes going, but leaving tie looses and anticlimactic endings to these character's punishment/fate will always be a minus. No one will ever enjoy getting pure hate and even up to murd*r from the point of view of Lead roles and then things just end.

By the way the reason i'm writing all these is not confined to THIS particular drama, it's just that after watching the handful as i mentioned 4-5 family dramas that actually have multiple characters with plot arcs, development, interesting story, evil but yet understanding characters, or pure evil ones that get what they deserve, and are close to masterpieces(for their genre only of course) , it's soooo hard to find anything that even comes close to them, and the problem is you have to invest tens of hours for little to no reward when searching for them. So basically after wasting X amount of hours in this , i can guarantee it's not one of those dramas and justifies my theories about those KBS 'productions'.

as you'd expect from your typical korean KBS family 'drama' , evil people killing others, babies, framing others, hitting, bullying, cheating etc for 100+ episodes never get punished, and since writers stoop that low to get paid it's an endless cycle of the same things over and over.
Only way to enjoy a thing like this after 2015 is to have some over the top interesting story, or some REALLY good chemistry between the characters, or a Lead role that is too damn likeable.
Obviously this has none of what i mentioned so it's a rough 7/10 when it comes to family dramas.
Don't even try to compare it to normal romance dramas and whatnot, it wouldn't even score a 4/10 against them/
If you have no life like me or you are a superfan of some actor in this, i suggest you watch it at 1.25x speed and fast forward A LOT of dead screentime between scenes, do that and you'll still have wasted 30++ hours of your life for little to no reward.
Rewatch value is absolutely zero.

EDIT: forgot to mention how misleading the summary is. Coming back after all these years and supposed to have a 'plan' for revenge, but literally nothing is planned. Things just arbitrarily happen and THEN they deal with them. FL is getting dragged around and blamed etc with none of it being part of a plan.

There were hints of bbbfamous in earlier eps
no, what i meant is The person behind bbbfamous, we have no idea as to why he/she(no need to spoil) is so hateful frustrated etc, or how she knows the 'secrets' about the other influencers etc, there is no character buildup until we meet the person in the last episode.
Of course there are, not just HINTS as you said, but bbbfamous participates in almost every episode since A-ri joins the social media world.

really the essence of it ! Summarizes it in a couple of sentences . You won't get swept away but if you have the time and the plot seems even remotely interesting to you, give it a watch!

Just to add something here, Park Gyu Young (FL actress) has started getting lead roles pretty much since 2020 and have starred mostly in Fantasy, crime, law dramas etc. Only one romance drama(that still had A LOT of business powerplay in it) and i think she can really do both pretty well. She's not one of those 'put her in any character and she'll make you a hit drama' but when paired with good cast or a Male lead that has chemistry she really shines.
She is one to keep an eye on.

Title Celebrity
Very anticlimactic ending in general, also the character _bbbfamous(won't say who it is) , just appears out of thin air in the last episode, we have no development at all, so basically one of the evil but silent characters that get the whole plot going is pretty much not shown for 90% of the drama.
You literally have a few mins to hate the character before everything happens and the drama ends.
Good thing they didn't decide to put a romance tag on this drama because there's not any.
I see the word revenge circulating in comments and reviews, i assure you not even in the slightest revenge/justice was served, (i mean i did thoroughly enjoy _bbbfamous scene featuring the window) but that was not justice nor revenge.
And in the end of the day our character , the one that was heavily mistreated , hurt etc, IS ALSO shaken up AND got no revenge, really zero satisfaction for the viewer, yes as with ALL dramas things come to a certain end and some characters either get what they deserved or there is a hint that they did.. ALSO the last scene, really the last 5 seconds of the guy looking at the tablet is a truly pathetic way of writers trying to make their drama bigger than it really is.
Really baiting that there might be a season 2 based on that scene, or have people wondering who the guy was and why he smiled etc, is just the epitome of poor writing skills and social baiting but in the end of the day Korea thrives and feeds from it.
Now:
~ The drama wasn't bad, story overall kinda interesting, didn't really get boring, could have been easily put into 10 episodes though(not saying delete the last 2, but somewhere at the 7-8-9 episodes it got a bit boring , in a way there were multiple scenes where nothing really happened), acting was good from the majority of people involved, SFL's character felt like it had more depth than they showed but also that was interesting in her, FL's best friend's downfall and then from hate to asking for favor again was weird, we didn't even see forgiveness , just some tears and then skip to the final act which she was a part of.
The cast was fine. Since they already went with the 12-episode model they could indulge a bit more in the romance side OR just make a bit of a backstory for the _bbbfamous character, generally use the screentime wiser.
The premise of the show seems shallow but that's not 100% the truth, of course it's not some deep meaning heavy subject touching drama , but it's not just social media brats either.
A 7.5/10 seems fair for it, without changing anything and just writing it more proportionately it could get an 8, remove the last scene and give some 30-50sec explanations on some relations and you could have a Really close to 9 drama.
Aaaanyway , watch it, i wouldn't recommend against it, it's not long, about 45 mins per episode, you can fast forward a few scenes here and there, and i watched it in 1.15x speed as well.
Anything above 6.5/10 on my books is not a waste of time. It's still a fresh drama so most probably the rating will stabilize in high 7's or close to 7.5 as i rated it.

seeing it objectively as a tv drama, it's unique, fresh, interesting etc etc.But you are one of the people that…
the same is true for the other way around too, dramas that could have easily been 12 episodes long got draggy for no reason, or added a very random event to stretch it to 16.
Also the rushed ending and often literally in the last 2-5 mins of the last episode is generally a thing Koreans do badly.
When it comes to romance i guess the journey sometimes is enough , but for mystery/crime dramas where we just have 'the good guys win' in the last minutes and don't even have the time to enjoy bad people getting punished, justice being served overall , possible romantic tension being relieved or acted upon.
I did read an explanation on why 16 episode dramas makes sense when they are released week-by-week because on a TV-season one channel can have 3 dramas in the same spot(let's say Fridays at 10o'clock) in a single season(when subtracting holidays like christmas etc, and summer where lower budget or more experiemental dramas are aired) then it means 3 whole 16-episode dramas can fit in that 'year'. I do not agree with it but since every concept is predecided, prepaid, prewritten and the investments are big it is difficult to change it.
Also may of the 'masterpieces' in my books (most of which are not romance genre) were released as a whole by Netflix* meaning all episodes in one day* or released as short(not mini) series in let's say 3 episodes per week for a month for 12-episode drama.

the mini plots/ mini cons , were too long, this could have easily been a 12-episode drama and never become draggy.
It wasn't boring by any means, also the cast overall is really good. I came here for Kim Sae Ron but seeing familiar actors in it and performing well really made an impression to me.
The plot overall could have been a bit tighter and better written but it didn't get derailed.
The initial spark with ML's kid and his wife etc(won't spoil) should have been emphasized or continued for more episodes even as a mention or a 40 second scene.
The 'team's' chemistry is good, i wish Roy and Nabyul ended up together in a romantic way, and since it was 16 episode there was enough screentime to add this to the plot but still it's ok since there is not a Romance tag on this.
Fighting choreographies were decent , and blurry fast paced camera angles were not needed to cover them.
Overall given the ending, how each member of the team is in the finale and the plot as a whole i'd say it's a 8.5/10 . If it was shorter i'd even go for a 9.

you got to kidding me I haven't watch this yet but I bet you this will be a very good movie iu and park seo joon…
so you haven't watched it yet but you sure are biased that it WILL be a good movie based on the cast. HMMMMM
The reason i watched was also for the cast, that's what i mentioned above as well, that's how much of a disappointment it was and how cheap of a move to make easy money it was for the producers as well. The movie is painted with a premise that is supposed to be 'deep' just to justify the superficial job everyone involved did in every aspect.
It's not a secret that the day it came out the rating was 9.3/10 because all the psj and iu crazyfans overinflated it without even watching it , you'll see in a few months it will actually stabilize below 7.5 as it should.
So go watch it, get disappointed and then either secretly agree with me or because of the default humans' ego come and lie about how you found it delightful or a masterpiece and whatnot.
Im also a fan of both the leads but it's not hard to see when an easy money concept and overhyped work is obvious. Good for them for making X amount of money from it.

touched a few subjects very superficially, not enough to keep you interested, need to speed up the movie in order to not fall asleep.
They thought probably Park Seo Joon and IU would be enough to score high and make easy money, i guess they did to some extent.
It's sadly a waste of time both for the viewer and the stars, i hope they got paid a lot because they could have been shooting other movies/dramas that would actually be good and satisfy us wanting to watch them, but from what i've seen PSJ must have made a ton of money the last year while shooting this and being in EVERY fashion event ever so at least good for him i guess.

it's kinda mehh so far(episode 5) , and i really hate how the cheating boyfriend did not get any scrutiny/punishment/embarassment at all so far, and it's too late if it happens later, if he did something so bad and we have to wait HALF the series for him to be treated however he should be treated for what he did , it's just too late.
It is a bit disproportionate so far, characters have Zero evolution up to now and it's almost half the episodes.
other than that it's your typical romance tropes used over and over again. I'm pretty sure i've watched another drama with the exact same plot only it was a poet/singer or smth on the Leading role. And there are also 2-3 dramas with the Male dating coach as lead again pretty much the same.
Idk , it's Yoo In Na and it's not an extremely annoying drama so far so i'll obviously finish it , but it's not making me want to watch it like crazy. With that pace im pretty sure i know what's going to happen all the way till the end and i don't see it going above 7/10 maayyyybe 7.5/10 except if they do something extremely well in the second half or the chemistry between leads become magically perfect. It's a decent try but i wouldn't hype it too much, i think the rating will drop as it is still a fresh drama, and it will reflect the real value of it. I'll come edit if anything mindblowing happens or it becomes way too good, or i'll just come edit confirming the rating i already predicted.
Also later on even when the leads start spending time together etc, FL still is a doormat same as she was in the beginning with her cheating ex situation. That's one more thing to add to the negatives.
Also the one time the ML actually spoke and verbalized how he felt (beginning of last episode mainly) we understood how immature he is.
That thing trying to make a romantic story progress organically failed tragically for many episodes in a row, idk why the writers thought they did a good job on it, honestly it's becoming a non stop drama of thinking 'This is the episode it'll finally happen' and then just being mistaken over and over again until in the last episode and last few minutes they rush everything like amateurs.
Then it's your typical half-assed rushed love confession from the coward/misunderstanded side and a 2 minute fast forward montage to how each character is doing in the near future.
It is like you asked an AI to make a romance drama after collecting data from ALL the romancedramas before, and subtract any sensitive/controversial/possibly cancelling tropes from it, apart from cheating which is the only thing they use nowadays to keep some plot going.
A strong 7/10 , i can't bring myself to rate it lower because some secondary characters are really good , some are actually decently written and Yoo In Na stars in it. So yeh, a 7 it is.

Aaaaand yea, some writers/directors actually blew people's minds with plot twists or big revelations or shocking events during a few other dramas' endings and i'm guessing every mediocre writer is trying to incorporate that to theirs as well to trick people into thinking they've made a masterpiece.
Newsflash: it's not. The last 2 episodes add nothing to the plot really, the 3-5 mins of the whole last 2 episodes that actually have a purpose on the overall plot could have just been shown during the 9th and 10th episode instead of doing this random hail mary attempt to try and shock the viewers.
It's still a 6/10. when things started getting resolved and truths being revealed it was actually trying to push to the 7's of the rating scale but then the last 2 episodes came and justified my initial rating. So 6/10 it is.

another complete a**hole ML treating FL like sh*t because he has power over her(as her boss), and FL being a complete doormat when it comes to him, even though the writers desperately tried to portray her as a strong female and whatnot.
Of course as MANY people mentioned feelings seem to go from 0 to 100 real quick, both for the Leads and for the secondary characters(at least those that are included in the romance part). Really it makes no sense.
SML and i guess SFL(the actress) are too obsessive without any particular reason, i mean SML wasn't passionately against the past break-up but now is obsessed with FL and SFL is clinging extremely hard on ML because she knows he can't just ignore her because of her brother and father.
The 'evil' scheming characters are very shallow and that might be one of the few things this drama did well.
All in all yes there is some chemistry between the Leads so at least it's not painful to watch their scenes, the overall plot is just mediocre with things going too fast at times and too slow at other points.
FL's cousin is an interesting character, same goes for her romantic interest ML's best friend. I wouldn't say i thoroughly enjoyed their time together but their characters were fun to watch as a whole.
I'll come edit once i finish it, i saw many people commented how the last 2 episodes felt like a different drama and were unnecessary, i'll comment on that later.
So far it's a simple office romance thing at 6/10.

so basically a village full of a*holes bully a newly moved in girl for no reason other than that they are uneducated subhuman garbage beings, and the FL as any usual doormat character puts up with it and gets swindled repeatedly.
So if you read these 3 lines how many episodes would YOU put up with before dropping this 'drama'?
Very poor writing as well, there is no reason to keep you wanting to watch the next episode and so on. It's 12 episodes total and after 4 i still don't find any interest and all that had happened so far is what i explained above.
I'll edit once i finish this but it's already looking bad.

EDIT 1 : already at episode 7, not much have changed, FL has made some friends, there still isn't a plot driving the whole story forward. It seems like people just living in a random place. There is no overall danger, romance, envy, revenge, whatever yet. It's just some people living in a village , half of them liking FL and half of them not. And apparently ML is some sort of super smart person with a nagging female friend.

EDIT 2: the plot actually arrives in the last 2 episodes and newsflash: it's not worth wasting all these hours on it. Closure is minimal, punishment is implied but only that, ending is brief rushed and anticlimactic.

I can't believe you're dropping a drama bc of how a person looks... this drama is clearly not for you. I won't…
the main reason of feeling uneasy while watching is his overall image, both his annoying character and weird face, but there are other reasons i dropped it too, as i mentioned i don't enjoy complete doormat characters like one of the FL's(sometimes doormats are fine when there is a redemption/revenge which is not the case here). Also the feeling of just wanting to watch the next episode to see what's going to happen is not there for me. Simple as that.
