I don't know, I am not really enjoying this drama but I don't want to drop it too. This one is at the bottom of…
Are you me? LOL
But yeah, for me the drama has become something that I felt I needed to watch rather than one that I genuinely enjoyed watching. If not for the cast, I think I would've dropped it by the second week.
So I see some people don't like who idealistic Eun Sol's character is, but I find it amazing and so realistic.…
I kind of understand why people don't like like her character, and it's really the fault of the writing. I get that they wanted to portray this wide-eyed prosecutor fresh from training, but they overdid it when they had Eun-sol breezily said that her gut instinct told her the husband was guilty, ignoring the lack of evidence. It's not until Baek Bom admonished her that she really tried to do more digging. For me personally, it's simply thanks to Jung Yoo-mi's acting that I still find her character naive rather than downright foolish.
But yeah, I'm looking forward to her character development too. And for some kind of grudging respect to grow between our two leads :D
I agree with you that, as chefs, they don't really have the right attitude. They are cooks not because they necessarily…
Agree with you about Poong's and the gang's attitude about cooking. I also feel that, based from what we've seen so far, Poong doesn't really have what it takes to be an executive chef or just a team player in general. Yeah, the gang pretty much refused to obey him, but he didn't even try to establish a workflow or to just feel out each member's individual abilities.
Anyway, it's going to be fun watching their character development and growing bond as a team :D
This drama has a very simple plot, but somehow makes it confusing with the writing and directing. It's trying…
I agree with on the issue of directing. I have a feeling that the screenwriter meant to create a parody of the melodrama genre, but you can't really feel that as a viewer because what she wanted to convey didn't translate well to the screen.
And a mish-mash of genre can totally work, but I guess it's not something that just any director could do? One of Jung Ryeo-won's previous dramas, The History of Salaryman, was the perfect example of how it could be done.
I read the manga years ago (I guess I never finished it since Wikipedia said it ended serialization Aug 2017 even…
It's not necessary to reread the manga. Personally, I think it largely remained truthful to the spirit of the manga, despite various changes here and there.
the first three episodes are subbed on ondramanice
It's a fictionalized account of Saigo Takamori of Satsuma. He helped overthrow the Tokugawa Shogunate and usher the Meiji Restoration. He ended up rebelling against the central government, though, over disagreement of the new government's policies.
I would have expected Oshin being high in this survey since it's so famous.I liked Haru's Asadora, Takahata Mitsuki's…
I'm not sure about Oricon's methodology, but I'm guessing the subjects skewed towards the relatively young, which means that Oshin might be waaay before their time. But yeah, it was super popular, even outside of Japan. Virtually everyone over a certain age in my country knows Oshin, and loved it.
I could totally understand why this drama had good ratings in Japan so far. It's so enjoyable and easy to watch, just perfect after a long day at work.

And because I'm a petty, terrible person sometimes it's like this. Say, I'm not sure about my rating. Should I give a drama a 7, 7.5, or an 8? If it's highly rated here on MDL, chances are I'd give it a 7 or 7.5. But if it's low rated, it's more likely for me to give it an 8.
