I agree with your review so much. I still don't understand why anyone could like this drama. Tragedy doesn't mean…
It's good to know there is someone who agrees. After the first few episodes, this drama disappointed me more and more, and by now I've almost forgot about it. The thing about c-dramas is that they can be silly sometimes, but that can be totally fine as long as they are not boring combined with too messed up - like this one!
I really enjoyed it. Yes, there were some unnecessary things, and things like perfect face swaps are hard to believe in, but overall I thought it was good. A lot of people complain about the ending. Well, they should have not included the last episode at all, but it didn't actually ruin the story!
Not yet, but it's definitely something we'd like to implement.
Wow, great - I wasn't even sure if that was possible to do. (But of course, I don't understand anything about how to make a website.) Anyway, I'm impressed by all the work you do to constantly improve this website.
I think these new stats is a very good idea. It's interesting to see! I don't think that age always matters when it comes to drama taste (I'm sure there are many cases when people from different age groups agree!), but I do think it is relevant in some cases. For example, many dramas about characters in their 40's are probably more relevant for people of that age group than for teenagers. :) I wonder if there could be a way to search for dramas based on high ratings by different age groups?
All three dramas are based off a novel Zi You Ji Guang called the 'Gentleman' Trilogy. The first two dramas in…
Yes! Of course we all have different taste and different things we want from a drama, but for me it really was that good. I watched it last year and it was the best one I watched that year. It wasn't flawless and there were some details I didn't like (I rated it 9 though which means I loved it), but I enjoyed following their characters on their "journey" to find a place to belong in life. It gave me a kind of heartwarming vibe that I enjoy, I liked most of the characters and how there were many important relationships that developed that were not at all about romance. It is long drama like most c-dramas but it never felt too long for me. It gave me kind of the same feeling as Ode to Joy if you've seen it.
I haven't watched Mr Right because I've heard that it's not that good... but I still think that I should see for myself . I like Jin Dong and Maggie Jiang so much. I think I'll watch Mr Fighting first though.
I'm not sure if I understand this correctly. If you don't reach your goal, everyone who donated will get their money back? I'm just thinking... that's in a way an honest and admirable way to go about it, but even if you reach only half of the sum you want, won't it still do your project some good? I just mean that I believe that everyone who donates something even if it's not a lot really want to see more subbed dramas, so some people might be willing to offer a donation even without reward or anything as long as it is a little bit helpful? Or am I wrong?
A very interesting article! I thought this: "I am willing to transform into a blue stone that stares across the end of the sky and cliff until it breaks" was really beautiful. What a picture those words paint! Thank you for writing.
I made the right decision to watch up to episode 8. I am fully satisfied with the drama up to this point and don't…
Yes, you made the right decision. I watched all of it... Well, the drama did redeem itself a little bit by some things that happened in the last episode, but... a lot of stuff that happened was just so stupid. I agree about Kohji!
I agree that there would probably be less complaints if the roles were reversed, but I also think it is because of the age. Not the gap, but the age - after all, there's a difference between 14 and 17.
I also crave dramas with female friendships! Have you watched Ode to Joy or Age of Youth?
One thing I like about Chinese dramas (that are not "friendship dramas") is that I've found female friendships in them that I've liked. In k-dramas, even when there is a best friend I often thinks she is annoying...
Very nice article, very well-written. Personally I don't watch many k-dramas, but I prefer slice of life over old school. There are some cliches that I really don't like (but I guess they can be fun in moderation). Can you recommend any good slice of life k-dramas?
