Yeah, I can see why something like that was changed. My impression was that the sexual tension in the movie probably was a bit more like action in the book.

Maybe I'll rewatch it some day. Then I'll see if I still feel as strongly for it, or if I was too strongly biased. :)

I haven't watched all of these dramas (and I don't like all of the ones I have watched) but I agree that Sound of the Desert is a beginner-friendly drama, because it was my first c-drama and I really enjoy c-dramas now. :) It's on my favourites list, and you are right about Hu Ge! ;)

Because the information about starting date has changed a lot and last time I checked it didn't say Nov 27. I've been checking this page out for updates a lot. When I scroll down this page I see that at some point it was supposed to air in April. When I wrote the above I was under the impression it had already started airing because of some comments I had seen.

No, the first one was not historical. This is a prequel. Remember the merman was 1000 years old. This is the story of him and his first love.

Watch The Disguiser - he is soooo good. I also recommend Surgeons. (It has more romance, The Disguiser is a historical drama.) He is also great in Nirvana in Fire which is the best drama ever but he is not in the drama a lot, so I wouldn't recommend it just for watching Jin Dong...

No one at all. He is a very minor character in this season, we see even less of him than in S1. If you want to watch Jin Dong I highly recommend The Disguiser. (Very little romance but his character is the best!!) He also is the main lead in Surgeons where there is romance and his character is so good! I'm currently watching The First Half of My Life; not sure what to think yet but I like it so far and he's a main character.

Sound of the Desert was my first Chinese drama and I loved it so much. So beautiful! So sad. So wonderful in every way. I liked the love triangle, it was well done, but unlike you I preferred Hu Ge's character all the way! <3 I also liked Scarlet Heart but I haven't watched the other ones on your list. I love the costumes in Chinese dramas and how beautiful everything is. I'm currently watching Advisors Alliance and it's very good even though it seems to be not so big on romance but that's not important to me. (My all time favourite drama is Nirvana in Fire.)

I see. I agree Ying Ying is annoying but personally I found the rest of it worth the watch.

No, actually, it doesn't have to mean that. Someone told me before that they just write "December 31" when they don't know when in the year it will be. So it's possible that it's earlier in 2019 but nobody knows yet. :)

Some of the relationships are the same as season 1 so it wouldn't be a spoiler but not all people who look at this page have probably watched the drama yet so....

Xiao Xiao (Wang Olivia) is with Dr Zhao (Wang Kai) in both seasons.

Fan Sheng Mei (Jiang Rulu) is with Wang Bai Chuan (Zhang Lu) in both seasons.

Andi (Liu Tao) is with Wei Wei (Zu Feng) in S1 and with Bao Yi Fan (Yang Shuo) in S2. They are my favourite couple!

Ying Ying (Yang Zi) is with some guy briefly in S1, then meets another guy, Ying Qin (Wu Hao Chen) and has her ups and downs with him in S2.

Guan Guan (Qiao Xin) doesn't have a boyfriend in S1 but later she meets Xie Tong (Deng Lun)
