I feel like this show really had an impact on me not only as a woman, but especially as a wlw. If you’re looking…
I so agree! When I started it, I did not expect anything like that at all. Best sisters-in-law ever! And when is there even "sapphic representation" at all in dramas?! I don't think I've ever seen a drama like this one. (And Seo Hyun really is born to be a queen, I don't think I'll get over her anytime soon!)
She is very beautiful, especially in some angles. <3 Also, it's rare to see a character who *won't say because spoiler* and that is just one of the reasons I hope things won't end badly for her.
Two birds with one stone ;) Thanks for reading and if you haven't watched it, among the titles mentioned here,…
No, it's not there, but thank you anyway. As I said, I enjoyed reading your article. It's so nice to read something that is well-written and informative. :)
I watched the first two episodes, and I dislike the main leads. Both are very rude, she has been picking on him three times already for things that are not his fault, and he responds to her behaviour by being cold and argue back. Will they start getting along soon or will the bickering go on? (Yes, I dislike hate to love relationships, and it's my fault for not checking the tags properly before starting it!)
Exquisite is the word I connect with this drama. Exquisite architecture, nature, costumes and characters. It was…
I just wanted to say, you expressed my thoughts too here! I agree with every word. The settings make it one of the most beautiful dramas I have watched, and the couple is one of the best ever. Both of them are impressive on their own and together they are amazing.
Yes I miss those days too. I feel so alone in my drama watching these days. I always enjoy reading your thoughts…
Yes, to be able to discuss a drama while watching it adds something to the experience.
Yes, I think there are a lot of people internationally who would find so much enjoyment in many Japanese productions. Yet most things that are available (like on Netflix and Viki) are "anime style" dramas with cartoonish characters. (Like the j-drama I'm currently watching, it's so easy to see it's based on a manga!) I know there is so much more than that.
Maybe I don't know enough Japanese history to appreciate this movie, but I know enough to understand your review. :) It reminds me about the good old days when we watched the same dramas. :)
Rewatching this before Netflix UK remove it on the 24th. Lee Joon Gi as a Joseon vampire and Changmin as a prince,…
Hi! I didn't watch it all until it was removed. Could you please spoil it for me? Tell me how it ended! I did speedwatch the last episode but I didn't really get it. It seemed like the couple ended up together but I don't know how. :)
This is a very good CW-article. You give just the right amount of information to make us see what you think is good about this drama and what it is about. I watched the first two episodes last night. I always feel that two episodes in is too soon to know for sure, but I feel like you are right about everything. ;)
I like the FL. Yes, it is quite obvious that she is not a teenager, but I think her acting is great - I actually feel like I'm watching a teenager, and that shows that the actress is good. (I suppose 68 episodes means that she is going to be closer to her real age by the end of the drama.) I assume that many of the supporting actors also are supposed to be quite young - like the princes and her brother - and with them, I admit that I have a harder time believing in them, but it's not a serious complaint. I adore the costumes and everything.
As for the politics (emperor, princes, women, rival clans...) I feel like there is nothing unique but I also like that it doesn't seem too complicated. Judging by the first two episodes, this is not the kind of drama where there are super long scenes where men in beards talk and talk and talk with fake smiles and it's hard to follow who is who... :p I like that it seems quite easy to follow what's going on. I'm looking forward to keep watching this drama.
Accurate review. I only just watched this. Often in these types of dramas the so called bad guys - usually "demons"…
Thank you! I'm glad to hear someone understand my point of view of this popular drama. Also, I admire your patience in reading this whole wall of text - I need to edit it and add some blank lines, don't know what happened to it!
