I get where Princess Xiyang is coming from and she's just blindly in love with Xia Jingshi. But gosh. I used to feel bad for her, but the way she kept forcing herself onto him and kept thinking she can change him was just so suffocating. It made me hate her. When she first told Suige that she can change Xia Jingshi, that was the first thing her character didn't sit well with me. And everything she did after that, I understand, but she's just someone who can't take no for an answer. She demands Suige to respect her choices and feelings, but has she ever done the same toward Xia Jingshi?
Xia Jingshi used Yixiao, Weiran, and Ningfei. He manipulated them all. He's no saint. But so far, at least it seems he genuinely cares for Yixiao, Weiran, and Ningfei. He also doesn't wanna take advantage of Xiyang. But Xiyang just kept pushing his buttons. Seriously. Girl, have some self respect. That man doesn't love you.
When Xiyang kept going on about all the things she did for him, as if he owed her....I just couldn't help but roll my eyes. He never forced her, or asked her to do anything first. Everything she did, she volunteered first and did it willingly. He even turned down her help several times, kept giving her chances to leave, but she insisted on staying and helping him. It was HER choice. She knew he was desperate. She knew he'd cave and accept her help if she was pushy enough.
And accusing Yixiao of manipulating him instead of him manipulating Yixiao??? Omg. Open your eyes. How blind are you. Not only would Xia Jingshi and Feng Suige get pissed, I wouldn't let anyone talk crap about my girl Yixiao like that too. Honestly, that slap was so satisfying. Who is she to speak of Yixiao like that.
Because of this so called "love" that Xiyang claims she has for Xia Jingshi, she has become such an insufferable person. That's not love. That's just obsession. The usual drama way, Xia Jingshi might fall for her in the end. But I really, REALLY hope he doesn't. He's a jerk, but at least he's got some principles and he's loyal to Yixiao. I want him to stay loyal to Yixiao because Yixiao deserves that. I also want Xiyang to learn her lesson and wake up. You can't change anyone in the name of love. You shouldn't force love on anyone either. I just hope Xiyang wouldn't team up with the crazy king of Jinxiu. If she really does, then she's a gone case for me. I couldn't care less about her ending anymore.
On Ep18...and I've been feeling iffy about Murong Yao for some time now. I really hope he doesn't betray Feng Sui Ge. Too many people have betrayed him. But the brother code really screamed betrayal from the start... π
guys i cant do this anymore when the fuq is the sister/princess gonna wake tf up and stop making stupid decisions
Just finished Ep14 and I can't stand the princess too!! Lol. But it makes sense she's so naive coz she's been sheltered all her life. Still, gosh. Whenever she talks about Xia Jingshi lovingly, I have to keep reminding myself that she's been deceived just like how Fu Yixiao used to be. Just that Fu Yixiao, thankfully, wasn't naive like the princess.
am I the only who wouldnβt bug any clothes from their business but like I only buy it out of empathy
Neo-Chinese fashion is actually getting more and more popular these days. If you go on Rednote, you'll see tons of people, especially from China, flaunting it. A friend of mine has been into it for years and I got influenced, even I ended up getting a Song Dynasty top myself recently.
But these styles are rather complicated sometimes and you really need to have some good fashion sense to carry the look, so not many people dare to try. And it does attract some attention since it's uncommon, so you've gotta wear it with confidence. But since this drama is set in China, I guess you won't feel so out of place wearing it there. It's just like wearing modern-style hanbok in South Korea.
Some of the designs may also be a little inconvenient for everyday activities, but they definitely make a statement if you wear them in slightly more formal events. And for really good quality ones, they can be really expensive. There are definitely good quality and more affordable ones too. But if you get cheap ones, it'll definitely look cheap and it'll just be a waste of money. So people who are into Neo-Chinese fashion would rather pay more for good quality pieces.
Finally had the time to binge the last few episodes, and the ending just made my heart so full. LA's been such a great drama and it deserves all the praises. And their chemistry!!! That jump hug kiss in ep28 with the stunning night view of that town in the background was just beautiful, and the bts left me laughing so much π Lusi and William work so well together. I'm so happy they did this drama together.
Love's Ambition isn't your typical romance drama with angst. It offers so much more about friends and family too, and most importantly, you as your own person. Gonna miss our Haoming and Yanyan power couple so much!
I kind of feel like if he really tried, he could have found other ways to engage with and/or impress Mr. Baraikin.…
I'm sure there are other ways too, but him choosing this way honestly makes the most sense. Besides the fact that a good husband image would've been the best way to impress Mr. Baraikin, Haoming also needed a reason to approach Yanyan since he couldn't let go of her and he had no idea how to go about it without making it sound like a business deal. At that point, he had already realized he truly cared about her. That also gave him a good reason to "help" her and make her accept his help naturally. It was a win-win situation for all, so there was no reason for him to look for other ways.
I feel that Yanyan could've also turned it down if she really wanted nothing to do with him anymore. She did want to keep her word by minimizing the damage their divorce would bring to the Shens, but if she really hated the idea of faking it with Haoming again, I feel that she would've stood her ground and said no. But she didn't, and I always feel it's because deep down she still cares about him and wants to help him even if she was set on divorcing him.
Jiang Liang may not be as competent as Haoming, and I don't trust his big talk either, but I think he truly admires Yanyan, not just romantically but as a capable businesswoman too. So I believe he'd still find a way to help her no matter what. When he offered his personal funds, she could've taken it, but she declined. And that just shows how sincere and loyal she is as a friend. That also showed me that Jiang Liang also wasn't as bad as I thought. At least for now, he doesn't seem like the kind who'd backstab after knowing he no longer stands a chance, because Yanyan has made it very clear to him every time since the beginning.
But yea...I understand how it's hard to fully trust Haoming again. Steve found a crack and knew where to attack. But I think what you suggest might happen later on when Yanyan chooses to believe Haoming again.
Wanna point out how the scene where Yanyan and Haoming woke up shocked was so funny and different from how it usually plays out. Instead of making it the girl looking under the sheets, it was the guy, and Yanyan was playing it cool while Haoming was so flustered ππ Please they're so cute hahahah.
Like William Chan said, Lusi is so good with comedy. I'm sure they had lots of fun filming the drunk scenes. I hope we'd get to see it in the bts!
I wonder.... if Haoming's mom didn't stop them, maybe Haoming and Yanyan would've made a bit more progress after that day. πππ But tbh, the distrust between them isn't going anywhere until they actually sit down and talk about it honestly with each other. If they don't address it, Steve is still gonna be able to sow discord no matter how stupid his plan is. I hate how Yanyan fell so easily for Steve's trap, but I also can't blame her because Haoming came to her with the exact plan before to win over Mr. Baraikin.
YYM and QL talking about the night before was just hilarious. But what's going on in Ep30??? Why is this couple breaking up so much. Ugh. Is it Lin Tao.....
That's true, but I hope he won't turn out to be a bad person because Qiao Lin and Yanyan trusted him. The former CFO had already stabbed them in the back, so having another traitor replace the former is just going to sting even more. Yanyan and Qiao Lin don't deserve that.
The contrast between how Haoming spoke of Yanyan before and how he speaks of her now π₯Ή I love our power couple so much. Yanyan now lives without fear and knows how to love herself, while Haoming has learned that love is to listen and understand, not control. Both of them are such charming people. I really love how far they've come, and I know they'll only get stronger and love each other even more. Look at them sharing ideas for the first time like this!!! Haoming is sooo proud of Yanyan and he's so smitten. Hahahaha and poor Haoming fuming at the sight of Yanyan laughing with Jiang Liang π Yiming, take care of your bro.
But Lin Tao...hmm... Why wasn't he at the celebration party?? I hope he's not up to no good. I'm hoping he only went to Qiao Lin's house to see if Yu Yiming is really good to Qiao Lin, and now that he's seen it with his own eyes, he will decide to leave and let go of Qiao Lin for good.
And that Steve guy... Ugh, together with that two-faced lawyer and the board member trying to take down the Shens and Jinda. Watching ep29's teaser makes me hate them so much!!!! The one that's gonna suffer the most is Haochen. But seeing Yanyan protecting him... π
But luckily before we get to that point, we'll get to have a good laugh during ep26. Lol drunk Yanyan reminds me of Chen Qianqian taking over the bandits of Wei Meng Mountain in "Romance of Tiger and Rose" π€£π€£ Lusi plays her characters drunk so well. I love it.
maybe im greedy cos this episode is better than the previous but i want more focus on the couple not on the business…
But the business she's building IS part of her. She needs to grow in order for the whole story to make sense and make progress. Haoming giving Xu Yan space to grow on her own is also part of both their individual growth and building a stronger relationship. Just because we don't see them physically together, it doesn't mean their relationship isn't the focus.
With this drama, it's more of "show" instead of "tell". Their interactions may be silent or just a few words, but there's a lot of meaning in there. Those yearning, regret, rage, and many more emotions can all be seen if you look closer. It's just that they're not portrayed in words, but in expressions and actions.
I know many people loved the angst in the beginning, but honestly, if they kept the angst for most of the 32 episodes, this would be such an emotionally draining drama and not really what the creators are trying to convey. Because this story isn't just about angst and love. It's also about trust and distrust, self worth, mutual respect and understanding, self love, family love, camaraderie, perseverance in life, and so much more.
I am going to cry when this ends. I love that each episode is coherent with the theme. When Xu Yan decided to…
This!!! He was definitely planning something and trying to help her indirectly. And he definitely did not casually drop the news to Mrs. B~ I'm sure she's gonna help Yanyan.
I love that Haoming actually listened to Yanyan this time and understood her instead of trying to be in control and force his help on her on his terms. Back then you could feel they weren't on equal footing, but now Haoming sees her as an equal, not someone he wants to or can control.
Haoming has changed quite a lot when it comes to communicating with Yanyan. He may act out of character (which I actually disagree with because these both sides of him don't clash), but he's still a wise and crafty businessman. I really can't wait to see Yanyan and Haoming working together again to fight their enemies.
Also, Yanyan's outfits in ep24 were so nice!!!! And loooove her hairdo especially the one with the silver pin. Gosh, Lusi is so pretty π She really put in so much effort for the styling of Xu Yan.
I really enjoyed reading your comments. I canβt wait to watch todayβs episode β€οΈ I wish we could continue…
Thank you! Same here, I hope we'd get 2 a day. But I think it's gonna be unlikely for these few days. The only thing I feel might be possible is them dropping the last few episodes over the weekend. So fingers crossed!
