Exactly. Both Haoming and Jiang Liang's attitudes were so different. Jiang Liang was trying hard to impress Yanyan, but Haoming was being very open and honest, not with the goal of impressing her but protecting her. That makes it so clear who really has Xuyan's best interest at heart.

Then again, even though Jiang Liang may have been sly skipping all the cons, he's probably also shortsighted and didn't realize he was being too idealistic. It was so satisfying when he had no comebacks and had to admit Haoming was right.

And yesss love the way Yanyan was looking at Haoming at the time! I feel that in that moment, she could truly see Haoming's sincerity compared to the times he fixed her wifi, changed her curtains, or did whatever. Because during that meeting, he wasn't trying to win her over and impress her by suggesting he's a better investor for her. He was simply stating facts and helping her protect her business. I really love that at the end of it, he even told her not to completely trust anyone, including himself, when it comes to investors.

Jiang is just selfish and he's only trying to get what he wants in the name of helping Xu Yan. I'm so glad Haoming was there to call him out.

But I think there's probably also some financial differences in their families. Studying medicine isn't cheap, and Yiming's family can afford that. Unless he got scholarships and worked himself to pay for his tuition fee, then maybe their family's social classes aren't that different.

Going to the same school and coming from the same town doesn't necessarily mean their family backgrounds are similar. I have friends who went to the same school and lived in the same neighborhood as me, but their family's rich. Lol.

Eating my words so bad coz I can't resist checking the new episode. Ughhhh. Anyway, I find it ridiculous and unrealistic whenever they use well taken pictures in dramas when they're meant to be candid photos. But this is the first time I've seen a character actually pointing that out and saying how ridiculous it is 😂😂😂

This is probably one of my favorite episodes!!! Haoming defeated Jiang Liang completely with that presentation!!!! I really love that the whole portrayal in that scene wasn't to make Haoming look like the smartest handsomest coolest most charming CEO that makes Xu Yan fall in love with again. I love that in that moment, it wasn't lovesick Haoming we were seeing, but the meticulous, foresighted, frank, and loyal businessman. Just like how he treats his employees, his business partners, and even turning his foe to friend like that loanshark guy, Haoming's attitude has always been consistent. He can be cunning when it comes to achieving his goal, but he doesn't play dirty or take advantage of his employees or partners. He's the type of boss that wants everybody to win instead of everyone doing all the grunt work while he wins alone. He's also very fair, and you can see that by the way he treated those construction workers. His short time there really shows you what kind of employer and business partner he is. If you're loyal to him, he'll be loyal to you.

And here, we see him pointing out the actual sly fox, which is Jiang Liang who only pointed out the pros and not the cons to make it sound pretty and tempting. I'm so glad Haoming was there. And he was really looking out for Yanyan, not just as her husband who's trying to win her back, but also as an honest businessman.

The character of Haoming has been very refreshing and I think a lot of credit goes to William Chan and of course the director. When Haoming did that presentation, it reminded me of the ML in Dating In The Kitchen (because same director!). Like they exude the same kind of CEO aura that isn't forced. Their charm comes from their wits, wisdom, experience, and foresight of a mature-thinking businessman, not the expensive suits, cars, or branded watches they wear.

I really enjoyed Ep23 so much. From the brothers-in-law studying together to win their partners back, to Haoming being such a thick face refusing to leave, to the presentation battle, and even Yiming and Qiao Lin getting together at the end! Yiming naming all the colors and the codes was just so cute.

Now the storm's about to come, but Ep27 is gonna be so much fun. Hahahah I'm loving how unserious our main couple can be, contrasting how well composed they both were in the beginning while they were wearing masks. This drama is still as enjoyable for me. Sooo looking forward to the next episode!

I feel like now's the calm or happy time before the storm. But this arc is probably to contrast between Haoming and Yanyan with their masks on, and Haoming and Yanyan with their masks off. Back then, their conversations always felt well thought-out. Every word carefully chosen, in case they say one wrong word and that perfect image of them would be ruined. It's so nice to finally see them breathe as a couple even though they're arguing or being childish with each other. That's how normal people interact. That's how people act when they're comfortable enough to let loose in front of that person. Some might prefer the tensed atmosphere in the beginning, but this drama comes with layers, so it's not gonna be staying in that phase forever. I also think the shift makes sense, because Haoming's serious demeanor around Xu Yan was always just a facade. Therefore I appreciate the shift, because I know it's probably gonna change again later on.

Also loving the brothers-in-law forming an alliance! LOL they're both so silly omg. And I think Qiao Lin's insecurities are very real. Looking at it from Yu Yiming's pov, it's not fair to him. He did nothing wrong. But even Qiao Lin admitted it herself that she feels inferior because of the gap in their backgrounds. But that's something she has to overcome on her own. Because Yu Yiming can do whatever he can to convince her, but if she doesn't believe that she deserves it, then whatever Yiming does would still be futile. I mean, look at Yanyan and Haoming. Their differences are even bigger, but they can make it work. Although...we still have no idea how Yu Yiming's family is. So... 🤷‍♀️

Anyway, so bumped that we're only getting 1 episode today. Probably gonna wait till tomorrow to watch 2 episodes back to back. I really hope they'll drop the last few episodes altogether over the weekend.

THIS. So true! Honestly, I think the shift in genre makes sense because now they both no longer have to wear a mask. We're finally seeing them actually breathe and let loose in front of each other, not always having a stoic or controlled expression when facing each other.

It's true that the tension was strong in the beginning, because that came from the mysteriousness and secrets they both were hiding. But those secrets are in the open now. So things are sort of more relaxed. There's no need for things to be so tensed anymore. Now it's slowly moving towards warming emotions. Like later on when Haoming and Yanyan might face trouble in business, that's when they'll grow closer again and rely on each other.

Even Lusi herself said she doesn't know when she can return, and I'm also glad she isn't pushing herself too hard and was honest about her situation. She needs to be happy and healthy first and foremost, then only will everything else be possible. She's really an amazing actress. Looking forward to the day she returns with a new role, no matter how long it takes.

Maybe not many here, but there are many Chinese speaking viewers praising William for his non-tacky performance as the domineering CEO role. Honestly, I'm not a big fan of domineering CEO male leads coz they can become so cringey especially when the actor is much younger, and they try too hard to look cool or handsome. But I'm really liking William's role here because it's different and the way he portrayed the role is so natural. He's got that natural dominant aura that he doesn't need to force. I like the way he's portraying that domineering attitude instead of focusing on just the appearance.

I've only seen him in Novoland and when I found out his personality was the completely opposite of his character, I found it so cute. He's quite a fun person and jokes around a lot on set in the bts. When he guested on the same show as Lusi, called Fairy Tale, I could already feel the chemistry between them and wished they could do a drama together. So Love's Ambition happening was a dream come true!

In an interview that's recently been shared, he even said that after working with Lusi, he realized they were the same kind of people with the same mindset, and he loved working with like-minded people. I hope they get to work together again hopefully in a costume drama! But I think William knows people's got opinion with him being much older coz when the host asked him during a livestream if he'd like to work with Lusi again, I think he said it'd be nice but he's old.

I think what she pointed out to him during that conversation was also important. The way they both perceived showing love was very different. And I think Haoming has yet to learn that. He's wary of people, maybe due to his businessman nature and coming from a rich family, so most people he gets to know are just after his money and he thought Xu Yan was the same since she lied about her parents just so that she could marry him.

I think part of Haoming is still struggling to accept that Xu Yan truly doesn't want his money and actually loved him, and that she's not playing hard to get by refusing his monetary offers now. I feel that he finds it hard to wrap his head around it. To him, no one would turn down his offers, so he's finding it hard to believe that Xu Yan truly doesn't want anything from him anymore.

Most of us can relate to Xu Yan because she's closer to us, while someone like Haoming just perceives most things about life too differently.

Qiao Lin is too used to receiving from her family so she takes it for granted without realizing it. It's not that she doesn't know. She's just too comfortable with it that she doesn't realize what she's even doing wrong or not doing enough. Because to her, receiving from her family, including from Xu Yan, is the norm. With Yu Yiming, she's never received from him so he's an exception for her. That's why she treats him differently.

Qiao Lin is no perfect sister for sure, but at least she tried to protect Xu Yan like when XY was stalked by that Zhou guy. I do hope we see her doing something more for Xu Yan for once though.

Haoming may be a sh*tty lover and husband but he's a good employer. At least he's fair when it comes to his employees and he does things right. He's a cunning businessman, but he's not cunning to his own people if you do your job right. And he's smart enough to get rid of the leeches and turn useful enemies into allies. That lawyer guy planning to backstab Haoming will definitely regret it later on coz Haoming will make him pay. I hope. Lol

And the mother-in-law!!! Wow, she was really mean to Yanyan back then until Yanyan won over her. But now Yanyan's got her loyalty and respect in return. She was so cool when she slapped reality into her friends and stood up for Yanyan. 🧡 Chenchen's also such a sweetheart though. I hate to think he's actually blood related to Fang Lei that psycho.

Yu Yiming was also super cute and Qiao Lin's disgusted face when Lin Tao was saying all those nonsense was hilarious!!!! 😂😂😂 Go home, Lin Tao. I hope you finally wake up.

So excited for Yanyan and the girls to succeed in their business. That livestream producer can go to h*ll. And although it's nice seeing Haoming feeling more and more defeated whenever Yanyan pushes him further when he tries to take a step closer to her, I'm also not seeing him realize his mistake yet. But he'll get there, as Yanyan will come him out for it later on, as we see in the teaser. Lolol. They are both still very composed now when they're with each other. I'm excited to see them both completely let go and go off at each other. In the mean time, I know Jiang Liang is gonna approach Yanyan and bring trouble, but I hope he won't succeed. Yanyan worked too hard to build everything up again from scratch, and it pains me to see her hard work get destroyed again.
