Both Xu Yan and Haoming are interesting characters and I think the best way to fully appreciate this drama is…
Same. Lusi is just remarkable with scenes like that!

Yep, and being born into a higher status definitely played a part in shaping his current perspectives. He's used to being in control and likes being in control because he's always had the privilege of doing that. He thinks he's got whatever means to make people do what he wants. But Xu Yan proved him so wrong. He can't control her. Not anymore.

Exactly. It was the perfect shot for "it was at this moment that he knew he f*cked up" πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
And glad you picked up on her sarcastic remarks! I went back to the episode to check the English subs, and I feel like the punch wasn't as strong or funny as understanding the nuance in Mandarin. But Haoming's face probably said it all. Lol

To be honest for Haoming's father, I think claiming Haochen to be his son and not his grandson was his first wrong move. Because he thinks Haochen was Haoming's "mistake", which Haoming clearly disagrees.

If Haoming truly loved Fang Lei's sister, and Haochen is really his biological kid, then I believe he truly loves Haochen as well. So I feel that him disagreeing with his father that Haochen was a mistake solidifies my theory.

But we still don't know if Haoming was forced to play along with his father's decision to claim that Haochen is his brother, since he was only 19-20 years old then. Or, even though he doesn't see Haochen as a "mistake", he agrees with his father's decision to save the company's reputation because he's ambitious about his career.

I actually don't know what his father has in mind. I just feel that his father doesn't trust him much and thinks he isn't reliable. Maybe based on how Haoming settles the issues with the subsidiary company, his father might see him in a new light.

I can't seem to stay out of this forum. This obsession is crazy. I am even planning out scenes in my head. A few…
Both Xu Yan and Haoming are interesting characters and I think the best way to fully appreciate this drama is to watch it without the perception of things being only black and white. Xu Yan and Haoming are both grey characters, that's why I like them. I may not like certain things Haoming did to XY, but that's his character flaw and I'm looking forward to seeing him make it up to XY.

Also about the ring, I actually LOVE what Xu Yan did!! It was just so well played and that whole scene was a jab not only to Fang Lei but also Haoming. I just couldn't stop laughing. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ The look on Haoming's face tells me he knew exactly what XY meant, while Fang Lei was half confused at first and finally caught on. Basically, that ring represents Haoming.

Not sure if the context was properly translated in the subtitles, but Xu Yan first starts off saying that people fighting over the items at the auction was just for show. Here she's hinting at Fang Lei fighting over Haoming with her.

Then Xu Yan continues to say, that is why you won't find anything good here, and she specifically used the words "δΈδΌšζœ‰δ»€δΉˆε₯½δΈœθ₯Ώ (there won't be anything good, which is also a way to call something "trash"). And since she got that ring from the auction, it means that ring was "trash". So her giving that ring to Fang Lei was both a jab to Fang Lei and Haoming, because she's indirectly telling Fang Lei that she can have this piece of trash, which is Haoming. 🀣🀣

XY then asked Fang Lei again if she thought the ring was worth 3 million, as if asking "So you think Haoming is some precious man worth fighting for?" And after XY puts the ring on Fang Lei's hand, she exclaims "It suits you!" And that really was the cherry on top, because Haoming looked soooooo insulted πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ And before they turn to leave, XY had to make one last jab and say "The ring was totally made for you", which sounded more like "This trash (Haoming) was meant for you."

I just looove how XY walked away feeling so pleased with herself because she used Haoming's money to insult him back and let Fang Lei keep the trash. Lolol

As much as I don’t like Haoming now for what he did, the moment XY left him, he was devastated. He already feels…
He looked more defeated to me, tbh. 🀣🀣🀣 XY beat him at his game. She played an unexpected hand and he doesn't know what to do anymore.

Now I just want to know why haoming's attitude suddenly changed after 11/12 episode...like he was very sweet in…
If you watch closely, his attitude didn't change until after the end of Ep11, where Xu Yan attempted to come clean about her lies. That would sabotage his plan and he didn't like that. That's why he indirectly told Xu Yan to keep lying.

That's why in Ep12, Haoming's attitude toward her changed because he could sense cracks forming in his "perfect" plan and Xu Yan was the one creating them.

She knew.... thats why she wanted an interview with him
She didn't know. She wanted an interview with the owner of the plant store, not the vice president of Jinda or the eldest son of Jinda's chairman. Her subordinate at the news company said it very clearly that she couldn't get the plant store owner to agree to an interview, that's why Xu Yan stepped in.

When Haoming agreed to the interview, he asked to meet at Jinda instead. And when Xu Yan got there saying she has an appointment with Shen Haoming, the front desk staff addressed him as the vice president. She was confused, that's why she asked the staff if Shen Haoming was the vice president of Jinda they were referring to. If she knew, she wouldn't have asked the staff to confirm.

Yea. Actually I think for a businessman, he's quite competent though his recklessness during his younger days raises doubt. For instance that guy his father was about to sign a deal with, did end up being trouble like he predicted. But his father didn't trust his judgment when he first warned his father.

Haoming is very meticulous and thorough. In a way, it does make him very cunning, but being a businessman, his wariness gives him an edge. But he's obviously very ambitious and that could end up clouding his judgment, so I think his father is trying to humble him.

Lol WTF HIS FAMILY LOOK MORE EMOTIONAL ABT HER LEAVING THAN HIM...bro cant come up with any sad story to compensate…
I just love how they were all kinda pissed with him πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Even Haochen was completely on XY's side. Hahahahah. The Shen family's just whipped for her without even realizing it.

Shen haoming feels so off now. I know there's a redemption and regret period, but does he deserve a second chance?…
Seeing as how he insisted Haochen wasn't a "mistake" as his father claimed otherwise, I'm guessing he may have wanted to raise Haochen as his son but his parents, or particularly his father, was against it because it could ruin the family's reputation and business.

I think we have yet to see him really changing yet. But now he's just starting to waver and maybe question his beliefsβ€”both about Xu Yan's genuine feelings and existence of genuine love in their relationship. But based on Ep20's teaser, he still holds on to his belief that Xu Yan could benefit from him, meaning he might not have realized it's not these benefits that she wants, or that Xu Yan truly loved him.

I hope his redemption and character development comes naturally and not forced either. So far I think he's not that off. He was rattled by Xu Yan not playing his game anymore. He was so sure she wouldn't divorce him, but she shocked him with those papers. He likes to be in control, but now he realizes that he can't control Xu Yan anymore and he's flustered. I think that's where it might feel off about him. But it's a natural buildup for me.

Yesss so nice to see him again with Lusi. But I'm glad he's at least getting his own girl as the sml here. And it's so funny I still see people calling him Mr. Cockroach on X 🀣🀣🀣

I think XY is being too nice watching these teasers, why is she attending these dinners still! This cooling period…
From another perspective, if she didn't play nice, she would cause the Shen family to suffer great losses in their business, and that would only put her in a more difficult position because then they could blame her for it and make her compensate.

At least she was adamant about the divorce with him, just that she wouldn't make it public in the meantime. I think it's a wise choice breaking up with Haoming and his family as peacefully as possible, because you don't wanna get on the Shen family's bad side or she'll just land herself in a bigger predicament.

is it possible for the drama to finish airing next week?
It's possible it might finish airing early if they drop the last few episodes early. Because if they stick to the 2-episode per day schedule, it's gonna be ending next Saturday anyway.

This is definitely a case of she fell first, but he falls harder. Look at our girl doing her best in life and moving on like a boss despite the heartbreak, while Haoming is already realizing what he's lost and gets shunned not only by Yanyan, but also his own family. The detail with old lady she visits was a nice touch. It was something Xu Yan never personally took credit for and still never told Haoming about it. It shows she's a genuine person and not what Haoming thought she was.

Haoming really doesn't deserve Yanyan. He better make up for what he did big time and more to get Yanyan back. I don't want her to take him back so easily.

But what I really like about Xu Yan and Haoming is that they are both quite alike. Both don't take any bxllshit, and even when they're put in less ideal environments, they don't complain. They just work hard and get the job done. I love how in ep16, we got to see the parallels between them.

Those staff think the bad conditions would drive Haoming away, but they're so wrong. Same goes for Xu Yan, nothing's gonna stop her from doing better and becoming successful. Both their downhill now is just gonna prove how competent both of them are. They are truly a power couple.

Same! The fact that Fang Lei was crushing on her sister's bf....that made me sus of her when she said her sister…
Right?? She's got motive and I think she was totally fake crying. Plus, imagine if her sister didn't die, was she just gonna secretly crush on her brother-in-law forever? I don't think so.
She knows Haoming truly loved her sister and it was unlikely for her to come between them unless her sister was dead.

I feel that his father still thinks of him as being inadequate since whenever Haoming suggests something, his father is always skeptical. I was wondering if he'd stab his father in the back, but I think no matter how upset he is with his father, he wouldn't actually harm his family.
