Doesn't one of the trailers show that she's going to exchange her immortal bones for his evil bones? It doesn't seem like she wants to kill TTJ, only the Devil God inside of him. But I haven't watched the more recent episodes yet, so I might be missing some information here.

After I heard from other novel fans that TTJ is way more cruel and evil in the book, I suspected the drama toned it down a lot while keeping LSS's character the same.

I'm afraid the changes to the male lead's character might make the future actions and behaviour of the female lead towards him seem illogical and unrelatable to the audience. Even now, some viewers in the past few days have been saying that TTJ is totally justified in taking revenge against the whole world and has technically done nothing wrong, and they hate it whenever LSS is even a little bit harsh towards him.

But let's see how it plays out first. There are still more than 25 episodes to go.

Yeah, it seems some people want the FL to support and trust the ML right from the beginning on but that wouldn't make for a very interesting story in my humble opinion.

I like seeing her conflicting feelings towards him and her mission. It makes me look forward to seeing how the writers will pull off their relationship development from being enemies to lovers.

I think time travel from modern times back into historical times isn't allowed.

Ehh honestly, I don't really count that one because it wasn't our FL (Su Su) who made him kneel in snow but the real Xi Wu. Then again, Su Su did let him kneel for another day instead of telling him to stand up because she had to keep up the act of being the mean Xi Wu 😅

I agree with you. It's unbelievable a female viewer straight-up said the maid deserved it 😶 Where's the empathy for other women? Revenge can be taken in many ways. It doesn't have to be r***.

Yeah, the foundation looks like a mask in some scenes and doesn't blend in well with the colour of the actors' necks. The contrast seems to be less noticeable in indoor scenes or maybe that's just me. I wished the post-production team had edited it to look more consistent.

I love the eye make-ups, though, lol.

You could say the same thing about all those 6'2" actors being casted as male leads alongside 5'3" actresses as female leads but no one seems to mind that or says the men "aren't typical Asian" 🤷‍♀️

The height differences between those pairings often look a bit odd and I've seen producers having to correct the height difference with camera tricks and putting the short actresses on platforms. It's a nice change, for once, to have a taller woman act alongside a tall man.

The costumes look absolutely gorgeous and so beautifully detailed. Even some of the hairstyles are creative and different from what I've seen before. They obviously put a lot of effort into the aesthetics of this drama and I hope the script will be just as good!

I clicked for the badass poster and now I'm intrigued. Might have to start watching the prequel some time soon 👀

Even on Viki, I've seen a few wrong translations. But only with C-dramas so far. Not sure about K-dramas.

It's a thing called hate-watching. Some people watch TV shows with the sole purpose to make fun of the plot, characters etc. and criticize everything about it. Only thing you can do is block them. That will automatically hide all their comments but it also hides the threads they post to which means you might miss out on other people's comments.

Dare I ask what makes it the worst wuxia you've seen? I was thinking of watching this adaptation over the others.

The baby-faced actresses you're talking about are often paired up with actors who also have baby faces or look like pretty guys instead of masculine men, for example, Xu Kai, Ding Yuxi, Ren Jialun, Bai Jingting etc.

It seems to be a trend in romcoms to cast especially cute and youthful actors and actresses. Maybe because many romcom stories are aimed at a younger audience and they find baby faces more relatable. My personal preference are masculine actors and that eliminates a lot of C-dramas from my to-watch list 😅

Fun fact: The voice actor they would have chosen to dub the male lead actually has a pretty deep voice too! It's not high-pitched and sounds pretty close to the actor's voice.

I found out one of the trailers for this drama has two versions: One with his real voice and one with a dubbed voice. After watching both, I still prefer the actor's real voice 🥰 It just has way more charm to me.
