The only review here talks about plagiarism. This is adapted from a manhua of the same name. And there are many…
The reason why you're not sure if this is copied.... is because *you haven't watched My Fated Boy*. You can't watch it and then tell me this isn't a complete rip off of it. I have no idea how that works from the creative standpoint. I only know that as a viewer who's watched both, its the same effin story. Maybe someone has some kind of explanation.... I don't.
As far as "there are many dramas with similar tropes".... I've seen a LOT of chinese drama. I'm not saying these are "similar". I'm saying this one is a blatant ripoff of MFB.
I understand that your deep seated masochism drives you to try to goad others into insulting you for your own self-gratification, but I'll have no part of it.
yea, i enjoyed the first 10 episodes so much and thought that if they tuned down ml's assholeness in the future,…
Are you going to drop, or are you already too invested? I'll stick it out. But it looks like it's going to be more of a boilerplate plot than I thought at first, we'll see.
If you look up at the description, MDL is classifying this as a wuxia/xianxia...
Well thanks for the correction, but I'm not trying to split hairs when it comes to jumping across impossible distances and cultivating demonic immortality or whatever. TTETOM is classified by MDL as both, and LLTG as neither one. So let's just say that after watching 200 c-dramas, I still don't know the exactness of the terminology, but hopefully I still managed to communicate my point well enough that it's understandable.
This has all gotten too sicky sweet for me. Usually this is the brand of romance used in wuxia, so I'm not surprised, but with that ML face and that backstory, they could have made the love between them darker like TTEOTM. I would have preferred that. Something about their vibe together is not as hot as it could be. She should be *slightly* more innocent and coy, and he should be *slightly* more stern and dangerous.
I like this drama because the characters are sophisticated and interesting, and the microexpressions of the actors are really amazing sometimes. But in the World of Wuxia, imo this is not up to the bar that TTEOTM and LLTG set for me. ML looks awkward when he's smiling and being all nicey nice, so they should have just let him take the character all the way dark and smoky, and clearly the direction on the show wouldn't let him. So he spends way too much screentime being serene and smiling pleasantly in sky blue. It doesn't suit him. The same way being teenagerey and in puppy-love doesn't suit this actress. They should have just let her act it her way.
It's not a good sign when I just want the gooey sweet marshmallowey part to be overwith.
I'm still gonna finish it, and there's no question I'll rate it at least an 8, but at this point idk how much above an 8 it will get from me, depends on how the rest of it goes from here.
She is cross-eyed. Very irritating watching her in Dramas. And sometimes kind of scary when her eyes look in different…
I can't watch anything with her in it either. I try to like the dramas she's in, but she ruins my viewing experience with her bad acting and weird porcine looks.
I was hoping someone would notice her subpar acting 'skills'😌. She's very hammy and wooden. No believability…
Agreed... and it doesn't help that on top of everything else, she has a lazy-eye! Sometimes I wonder who actresses like these are related to that they keep getting decent roles, when their acting doesn't seem to warrant all the opportunities they get.
I am happy for those of you who like this FL that you now have something spicy and fun to watch. I just can't with her. Her acting to my mind is so terrible, she delegitimizes anything she's in. I tried an episode and couldn't hack it, just like Maid's Revenge.
Woohoo! Ep 17, they shoot at his woman with a dirty arrow, and he gets PISSED, this is badboy done right. I love how he's been mild-tempered and dressed in sky blue/white for so long that you kind of forget who he really is, and then BOOM, here comes the dark protective side, wooo that gave me the chills!!! Great scene right there.

I'm just gonna pretend the cat is still alive.
