I am guessing it will not be a continuation of the same story - but rather another storyline, with similar themes of time travel/body swap. Cause Season 1 (as they are calling it) was complete in itself.
But the description "Reborn Rich Season 2 will explore the success, love, and power struggles of its main characters in an international corporate environment. It plans to capture an expanded world view with new characters and narratives" is CONFUSING.
"....of its main characters - with new characters and narratives"? Like some old characters will be there but i think it will be a completely new storyline with same theme of chaebol family/power drama, body swap and time travel.
I loved Reborn Rich - and while I wanted a different ending and more of the grandpa/grandson moments, it was a fitting and logical ending. any extension currently isn't fitting in for me - but lets see what they come up with...
2025 - still wondering where can i watch this? Why is it so hard to get good subs and variety of platforms to air j-dramas T_T End up missing so many of them.....
[1] I really hoped the Hell episodes would last longer LOL. Guess, I was right for someplaces in my last theory…
That is quite plausible. In fact given that in the last episode there has been so much stress about how some rich brat had been evading the police and laws (and ultimately his car was exploded) - I have a feeling Somi could have been either directly or indirectly related to NJ's accident.
Like either she was a rich woman and in drunken stupor (she was drinking in a bar that had the Hawaii theme and hence the imagery) and she hits Nj. Or she was with someone (the person that NJ is trying to look for) and she was probably fighting with him and she turned the steering wheel in anger causing the accident - or she just kept quiet when accident occured.
OR she was someone who was being beat up by her abusive husband/partner and NJ stopped it, which led to his accident from the jealous husband/partner (assuming it is the police guy NJ is looking for) and Somi remained quiet. She perhaps killed the guy later on and which is why she was Hell bound.
in all cases she is both guilty and saved by NJ - like maybe she was supposed to die in all scenarios but the accident saved her life, at the same time made her fall to nj in gratitude as well as become a sinner. Hence she probably might be a Unclassified - hence she was bound for hell, but is not really a bad person...sorta
[2] Finally a mention of Nak-Joon's family, and I love the actress playing the MIL. Can't wait to see it next week. AND we also got to know that Hae-Sook and MIL did not like each other.
[3] Som-i is such a big mystery! Who is she, and what is the whole Hawaii/beach vibe?
[4] Looks like Hae-Sook does owe someone a lot of gratitude. Her remark was casual as she was collecting her own gratitude brownie points - but maybe she's indebted to someone? Currently, I am guessing - its either Pastor (who's becoming like a son to her) or Som-i given they have some connect.
[5] Pastor's past is also a mystery - did he come to heaven at the age of 5? I got confused what he meant.
[6] The whole dog's adventure to hell was so heartbreaking. Animals really are the purest souls.
[7] Why is Young-ae smitten with the Heaven's President? LOL - this is going to be either cringe or super funny
It could be a very small epilogue in the end, and cameo/guest appearance by someone and hence not announced yet?
Or yes, maybe Nak-Joon would change his age to an older age. Or they would realise they love each, no matter what their outer appearance/age is. Or re-incarnate again and both will be young new actors shown.
Yes, currently with what we have been shown, we cannot relate who Som-i is, if she is from the living world and is related to Hae-Sook and Nak-Joon, for them to feel a pull towards her.
Given that we have not yet seen Nak-Joon's family, why do I feel Som-i could be Nak-Joon's mother or step-mother (or maybe father side) and had a hand in his accident, because she disapproved of Hae-Sook. It is a little far-fetched, but pausible if they show us more about their relationship with other folks in their younger years.
Yes, I saw this yesterday and had posted another comment. Somehow that did not get posted, so I rewrote this again. The Ep 5 trailer and this teaser makes it seem so.
Post Ep 4 - My theory about what might happen next in the story. And wondering how come Nak Joon has so many privileges.…
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHAT HAPPENS NEXT? (Reference: Ep 4 & Teaser: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=krEZcXGxA4I) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hae-Sook will go to Hell, Nak-Joon will follow to bring her back - thus showing the undying love they both have for each other. Hae-Sook will be brought back to Heaven & she will be granted the age she wants to be in. They will remain happily in Heaven before being given the chance to be reincarnated again, and will meet again in the Land of Living.
Som-i meanwhile is actually a trickster from Hell, or maybe something more sinister. She actually has come to Heaven to wreck havoc - maybe she is Havoc. And as soon as she came, she created issues between two people who had undeniable trust between them - HaeSook and NakJoon. She made HaeSook deliberately sin and therefore will cause her to go to Hell. She is trickster & pretending to be weak to gain trust. But why the Cat, Sonya knows her - am not sure.
Hae-Sook & Nak-Joon in Hell will soon realise Som-i is not Young-ae when they will meet the real Young-ae in Hell. Therefore, together they will fight Som-i, or if she is an actual person gone off the path, then they will make her see sense.
Young-ae, probably will finish her punishment and will join Hae-Sook,Nak-Joon once they are reincarnated, as their daughter. Or maybe sometime in Heaven as well, and probably be matched - with the pastor, or some new character, yet to join the show. Most likely it will be Pastor, given how much screentime he has, and the initial differences he had with Hae-Sook.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NAK JOON & HIS PRIVILEGES: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (1) He gets to keep tabs on the living in a way - we see that he was able to see his wife while she was alive (2) What's up with those special glasses that can look into the past? (3) Who is the police man he is trying to find and why? Something to do with his accident? Like was his case a deliberate accident made to look like hit-and-run? Or something else? (4) We still don't know about his family - so could be related to that (5) But mainly how can he interact with the living? Or is it just the very young children or the very old folks, who can see him? So that when they talk to him - others might just brush it off as ramblings?
The pet segment of the drama is deeply moving, capturing the poignant reunion of pets and their owners in Heaven. It also sheds light on the heartbreaking reality of abused animals, making it impossible not to feel a surge of anger at human cruelty.
The portrayal is exceptional, evoking bittersweet emotions even for someone without a pet, yet who has always been surrounded by animals and pet-parent friends. Kudos to the drama creators for crafting such powerful and emotional scenes so far —I eagerly await the upcoming episodes!
literally the backpackers theme song is playing in my head right now - with that whistle start!

Also - why are comparatively less people watching this show I feel? This is a good drama for sure, if not the greatest.

Would love to know what others think, this is really interesting drama.
(First Comment, Under Spoiler Tag)
It reminds me of "The Judge from Hell" - I had the same sense of excitement, and was doing theory/guess-work cause the story was so intriguing

Anywhere we can watch, or is this like a special screening?
Have been eagerly waiting for this drama for the intriguing plot and ofc, Lee Soo Hyuk as ML <3
