Unfortunately, I agree with you. I hoped we would see in the second half what happened to Naksu's father and she…
You just said everything I was thinking! Like, what the heck happened? And they had so much material to work with! I really thought they would do a much better reveal with Naksu’s sword. I mean they made a big to-do about the fact that it was her sword and only she could unsheath it. And then, nothing. Such great set up for a great dramatic reveal and nothing. And all that work Uk put into to level up to Chisu level and we only had one short test fight with Yul. I mean, really? So much detail they put into the story up until like 12/13 and then they just forgot all about it and decided to rush rush and put a lame story together at the end without much thought just to make money off Season 2. Like nothing made sense with the ending? It was just so weird and wrong and dumb.
feel so betrayed just from a story point. Such great possibilities and it was all just wasted. Reminds me of GOT finale a little bit - although not to that magnitude.
I feel like this dram started so strongly and then became such a mess towards the end. They didn’t need to bring in So-i and that whole fake Mu-Deok story didn’t add much to the plot. I think they could have gotten to Ep 20 ending without it. And for the Crown Prince who has been pretty stable and smart to all of a sudden trust Jin-Mi despite knowing what he did with the Queen is so out of character. It’s like from Ep 15 on the writers got lost in some philosophical BS and couldn’t write themselves out. Hated the ending. It’s like they had a great drama and then decided to just piss all over in the last few eps. So mad i watched it to the end. And yeah I know there is a S2 but it’s like they didn’t even need to do all that and go to S2 if they didn’t get crazy at the end.
Think I saw her first when I started Find Yourself then I watched I’ve fallen for you in between and I thought she was so cute! I’ve liked hee since. In fact, I started to watch this drama because she was in it and not Dylan 😅 By the way, I was at a Chinese grocery store yesterday and a middle school kid called me “ah-yi.” Stab to the heart. 😂😭 So I’m there with you.
I don't know what to do with all this information I just throw it out here and you tell me when to stop lmao.....https://youtube.com/shorts/4JzF1AKhXrM?feature=sharehttps://www.youtube.com/shorts/UUmlDj3gUdohttps://www.youtube.com/shorts/ep8-Gz7mXQA
Don’t stop! I love these~!
The way the corners of Didi’s mouth turn up when he smiles 🥰😍 I swear he definitely thinks Esther is the cutest thing on earth. He seems like such an open guy I don’t think he’s great at hiding it! I am not saying they are dating or should date or anything like that, but it’s clear that he thinks she is like cotton candy! 🥰
Can I also say how charming Yu Shuxin personality is.She's super friendly like XLH that many famous personality…
She definitely grows on you. At first you’re like woah, way too cute eww. Then you’re like aww~ so cute yay! I also read she has more female fans than male fans which says a lot about the type of cute she is. Just someone who is honestly sweet and kind and “innocent” (I hate to use that word bc it carries so many connotations) and genuine. Besides, she tries so hard at these variety shows 😂 The one of her trying to cartwheel over a barrel and failing just cracks me up to no end. I have it saved for when I need a good laugh.
I think Dylan is a great actor and has a lot of subtle expressions that give depth to the character and the scenes. I applaud this director for being able to get it out of him. I think an issue for him is his voice dubber. The voice actor for DFQC was fantastic for Dylan and hopefully he can use him again the future. But the voice actors for The Rational Life and Meteor Garden were just cringe. The voice actors can really influence the way the character is portrayed so with his status I hope he gets a great voice actor until his Mandarin improves. I saw in his recent interview that he is regular taking Mandarin lessons both for dialect but apparently there is a huge difference between Sichuanese and Putonhua (Beijing mandarin). I always thought it was a dialect issue. But I guess that makes sense, when I was in Shanghai I had a really hard time with my basic Mandarin which worked fine in Beijing. Anyway, I hope he gets to pick better projects and roles now and get more choice in things. I’ve definitely become his fan now!
By the way, I have a question, does anyone know how the residency thing works in China? Why can’t someone get a Shanghai (or Beijing) residency card if they get a job and work there? I didn’t understand that part in the drama.
I have to say, I didn’t love this drama. I feel like Qi Xiao’s character was written way too flat and Dylan was a bit wasted on that character. Also, Dylan did not have any chemistry with Qin Lan. It wasn’t even the age difference (as we know from Find Yourself, there can be great chemistry regardless of age). I just felt like Ruxin always treated him like a kid even to the end. They tried to cram in a few scenes towards to end to try to balance it out but if you spent the entire 32+ episodes seeing her act like an older sister, a few episodes at the end just won’t cure it. Heck, I think he did a much better job and the chemistry better even in Miss the Dragon.

In next week’s “Hello Saturday”preview Esther will come as a guest with her new male lead Zhang Bin Bin for their new drama and Dylan Wang (regular host of the show) is so jealous! I am so looking forward to their interaction again! I can’t wait! 😃
Did y’all read Esther’s new Weibo post? 😂 It basically says Big Wooden Head is vengeful bc she said she wants to get up early to sun bathe so he won’t let her sleep until twilight! 😉😉
