Also the fact that Fu Rong asked for divorce without even trying to ASK him if he was really finding a main wife…
I agree with you!! The only thing... She couldn't refuse the marriage, it's bestowed by the Emperor. Refusing it would be the same as committing treason back then xD
Sigh, I'm the same as you - I tend to drop dramas if the FLs are annoying or spoiled etc. That said, I found myself…
Actually, I've seen more ppl who like her but find she's lacking some depth or just straight up adore her. I just think they're frustrated by episode 19 and 20 because of really, really bad writing and bad decisions on the FL's part.
Are you sure he isn't?? Hopefully he isn't lmao, because he's so whiny and entitled, but... idk who else could…
That's true...but they just seem like the typical greedy villains. Even if his backstory sucks, Xu Ping has that more dramatic final boss air to him with all his ~tragedy~ and whatnot.
I watched a few episodes and thought not another drama with an annoying FL. After reading the comments I think…
Sigh, I'm the same as you - I tend to drop dramas if the FLs are annoying or spoiled etc. That said, I found myself still really liking this. Fu Rong isn't completely bad, there's definitely more annoying FLs out there tbh. Still tho, she desperately needs character development.
Actually I wasn't feeling this drama until episode 5 or 6, so if by then you don't like this, I'd say it's better to drop it lol.
I'm not ready to write-off Fu Rong because I think this is precisely her arc to come to grips with the complexities…
Hmm, despite still not liking her too much, I agree with your reflection on Fu Rong. Hopefully it turns out the way you said and she grows from this!
But I still think it was really dumb to just jump at a conclusion when the same thing had just happened to her... And idk wouldn't it be way too illogical to think Xu Jin went through all that to save Fu Rong if HE was the murderer and just wanted info from her??
Well...it's just bad writing, and a missed opportunity to give Fu Rong some much-needed character development. That said, it's personally not enough to make me drop it (and I say this as someone who is veeeeery picky).
so angry w FR!!! arghhh she even asked for divorce!!!
That's the thing tho... we're 20 episodes in already, this would've been the perfect time for some character development. Instead, she's still as reckless and clouded by emotions as she's been from the start.
These two episodes were a pain to watch, other than the 2nd couple's scenes. Thank u for saving the day...Well,…
Also the fact that Fu Rong asked for divorce without even trying to ASK him if he was really finding a main wife -.- Why does she believe others so easily?!
And when Xu Jin said "I want you to know that any wrong you make can implicate others" and Fu Rong says she "knows"... Binch, you don't, from the start you've been doing whatever you want without thinking how it could affect your reputation, which would in turn also affect your sister's reputation and your family's reputation in general -.-
One thing I did like was the scene btwn Consort Shu and Fu Rong...thank you for no overbearing, annoying mother-in-law!

Well, Fu Rong's character certainly regressed. She was so annoying and reckless, ugh. I can get she's dealing with grief from her Master's death and just went through a life and death situation....but to jump to conclusions after such a BAD investigation and do the same thing that was JUST done to her?! And to Xu Jin, who just f*cking saved her from being killed and risked his reputation, his govt position, and even life to save her?!
I'm sorry, but I just can't accept "poor baby Fu Rong was too distraught to think straight" -.-
At least...I would have accepted her reasons more if she actually asked Xu Jin if he met with her Master that day and for some reason he didn't tell her the truth or avoided the subject. Ok, still reckless af, but at least she actually tried to ASK him...just like he trusted her with the bracelet thing.
Now onto the worst villain ever...Xu Ping.
He's just getting worse, even whinier and more entitled than ever. He's even treating Fu Rong like his favorite toy he can steal any time he wants, yuck. And for all his "Wen Xing you can never use her", HE used her to get close to Xu Jin and kill him... He doesn't even take the time to think how dangerous that is for Fu Rong or how it would affect her psychologically... And he claims to love her...HAH!
(Ugh I knew he was dressed weirdly that episode when FR's Master was killed...asshole!)
Ep 18: OMG the way they acted to get into that villager couple's house had me laughing out loud xD And the look Prince Su gave her when Fu Rong was like "yes, we're husband and wife" and started lying...priceless!
