Since my husband is on his feet all day and everyday for work the last thing he wants to do is walk. But we occasionally do go drive around looking at the holiday lights around the area.

I will learn self-study. Or at least attempt it. So many programs out there. I'm bound to do something. I've already picked up a few basic words from watching the dramas, I may as well try complete sentences. :)

We don't do much for New Year's either. Hubby works that night until around 10 pm so it will be a quiet evening. We just stay up and perhaps watch a movie and eat snacks.

Ha -- I'm not fond of cooking either. It's really sad to not enjoy something you're good at. My cooking's not chef quality, but good enough to be enjoyed by the family. Anyway, the only time I bother making "feasts" are for the holidays. The rest of the year it's anything that can be made in under 30 minutes (5-10 minutes is ideal). Simple meals are the norm in our home.

I'm glad you had a nice Christmas despite the rain :). Our weather actually cleared up a bit. So we had a rain-free day. But it was still cold out so we still stayed indoors.

In other news... my early New Year's resolution is to learn some basic Korean. I'd like to be able to understand at least one language for drama-watching--- even if it's very basic.

Do you have any plans for the New Year festivities?

I hope you had a happy Christmas too! Enjoy your New Year as well :). Our Christmas was very quiet and uneventful - it was nice.
Haven't watched drama for a couple of weeks. Though I'm in the middle of MoMo Love and still need to finish Soulmate

Great commentary on bad hair in Korean dramas.

In fact, I was put off by the hair in Full House 2. It prevented me from watching it for the longest time. Her hair reminded me of the style worn by housewives in the 1980s >.<. Marry Him If You Dare? That looks like an 80s hairstyle when bad perms were all the rage (yes, I was guilty of such a thing for a couple of years OTL). If we're going to go retro in these dramas at least do the good retro things... not the bad stuff please!

In any family, no matter how old you are, the matriarch is the head cook on festive days and the rest of us are the helpers. This year I get to play the part of matriarch. Perhaps one day it will be your turn. ;)

You have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year too!

well in our family I'm the mom... soooo I'm the cook. But my husband does help - he's a fairly good cook too. Afterwards, though, the rest of the family is in charge of clean-up :D. If I were visiting my mom, though, I wouldn't be the main cook. Just a regular kitchen helper (chop, mix, knead, etc...).

That's another reason I couldn't marathon B&W. It probably wasn't as intense as TC, but still... so much conspiracy, hurt, and corruption. It's best to watch something light in between all of that. :)

Anyway, just a few more days til the big day. ^.^ On a happy note: since it's just the 3 of us, this year's meal won't be so big so I get to spend less time in the kitchen on Christmas

No worries about replying late. It's a busy season for everyone. Even responses from my own family are slower than normal. We do plan on having a good Christmas though. We're all ready for it to come. Presents are purchased and we only have a few food items to buy for Christmas breakfast and dinner. So we're pretty much prepared :)

I still need to add MHIYD to my watch list. I've also heard about the disappointing ending, but that hasn't stopped me from watching a drama yet. Many dramas have disappointing endings anyway. The journey to the end can be fun though. TC does look intriguing, but right now it seems a bit intense/deep for my needs right now. I'll have to add that to my list as well. ;)

Nail Shop Paris was indeed a waste of time. I kept hoping it would get better, but by the end I was so dang frustrated with the whole show. The only interesting thing about the show was the nail art. I had just finished a nails class and so that was nice to watch.
I really liked Master's Sun. But the last 2 episodes brought down my rating by a point. They could've condensed those 2 eps. I thought. I'm also not a big Hong Sisters fan.
Who Are You. Gah!! At moments it was tolerable at other times I just wanted to skip ahead. But I tolerated it.
I saw Vampire Heaven. OTL... Not the best vampire show Japan made.
I enjoyed Yamada-kun. It wasn't the highest quality drama, but it was light and entertaining.
The other dramas on this list I haven't seen yet. I do plan on seeing Ando Lloyd with KimuTaku :D

Nice article ^.^ thanks for writing.

Excuse me but I find this article somewhat offense (point 5 to be exact) Dok Mi is a character with agoraphobia…
As someone who has agoraphobia, social anxiety, and depression, I have to agree with you. This kind of thinking towards Dok Mi makes one think that anyone with depression or anxiety has no right to be loved by anyone. Enrique was a ray of sunshine in her life. While I wasn't crazy about the show FBND I thought the Dok Mi character definitely deserved love.

I wish you a safe holiday then. Here's hoping the roads are safe while you drive! :) It will be nice to spend Christmas with family.
My daughter will be spending Christmas with my mom. I'm a bit envious - I'd like to be with my mom for Christmas.

How's your drama and/or movie watching going?

Well I generally don't like most Christmas movies. There are only a handful of them that I like to watch. The rest are just bad copies of each other or they're just too sappy. I like Mixed Nuts because it's about average eccentric people and their crazy mixed up lives. I don't relate to Christmas movies about middle class or wealthy people living perfect lives :P.

Well my daughters will be away this holiday season so it will be a very quiet Christmas this year. Actually this is probably what I need most this year. I'll enjoy the season. The weather is nice to look at despite the lack of snow we still have pretty frost and fog.

Are you having any grand plans for the yuletide season? Or will it be a quiet peaceful Christmas?

Just haven't watched anything at all lately (not even American shows or movies). Kind of an int'l slump really. I just run old cartoons as I knit or crochet for background noise. :P

I did see the 1st episode of Dal Ja's Spring & it does look promising. I just haven't gotten in the mood to watch it yet. So it's still on hold for me, plus I still need to finish the other ones I'm watching. Maybe I'll be up to watching drama again after the holidays. I tend to get a bit depressed this time of year. Probably the lack of sunshine.
Ever seen the movie "Mixed Nuts"? It's based on the French film "Le Père Noël est une ordure" (which I haven't seen). It's one of those films where I relate to half (if not all) the characters. It's another weird movie not for everyone, but it's one I watch every Christmas. Mentioned this 'cause of a scene that talks about how people feel sad over the holidays.

Yeah, 30+ eps is usually too much for me as well. :)

That's understandable. I do have a soft spot for weird comedy.. and I know it's not for everyone. Lee Min Ki is also in a romance called Dalja's Spring (I think I spelled that right). I haven't seen it yet though.

I haven't seen Shark yet, I'm not sure if I'll watch it or not. The only drama I saw SYJ in was "Personal Taste" with Lee Min Ho. An average romantic comedy, but I really liked it. As for Lee Min Ki I saw him in just 2 dramas - "I Really Really Like You" which was an accomplishment for me to finish because there were over 30 eps! I Also saw him in "Evasive Inquiry Agency" which is unlike any drama I've ever seen. It's a treasure hunting story - they look for lost gold and deal with bad guys.. and also a dead body (first episode so not a spoiler really). I told my husband it's like "The Goonies" if they were grown ups and Korean. (not sure if you saw that movie or not). Here's one of the songs from the OST with clips from the show youtube.com/watch?v=Y5wlAB2cTiQ (which really doesn't accurately show how funny it is).
