The way I was done with the MM storyline and it came back with a vengeance 🥲
I was a bit confused throughout episode 30 but I think at the end they convicted Nan for her murder right? They said something about him being in prison for 20 years???
What MM parents did was literally child abuse, they should be in prison they also contributed for MM death theres…
The MM storyline gave me a headache, mainly because they implied things without saying things and I was confused. And yes the parents and boyfriend were all horrible.
I think it was labelled as a sex addiction because she might have been excessively masturbating and potentially having sex with multiple people to keep the addiction at bay. But I think Nan was using her sex addiction and the fact she may not have been able to stay entirely faithful to him to manipulate her. If someone truly has a sex addiction, then love versus sex are entirely two different things.
One of his texts said "Of course I'm upset you don't belong to me" etc.... and it looked like he was asking her for a break at the moment maybe after finding out she isn't a virgin, but she was too into him and still followed him and begged him to be with her. She said he was the key to keeping the beast at her heart at bay - so he was fully able to use and manipulate her.... sigh (esp if he has Narcissistic tendencies).
But the most important thing is sex addiction is an ADDICTION. She needed proper treatment and counselling not to be locked in a cage and surveilled 24/7. SIGH
TT is far from LL's ideal girlfriend for RTZ. Now the mom has clearly said she would like someone well mannered,…
All very good points!
I'm also confused about that spoiler in specific (I've been trying not to look at spoilers but thats been all over twitter)... STT is younger than RTZ so that would have meant that RXZ cheated on his wife. I know he redacted it but its so confusing... I admire him as a doctor but theres a lot of other things about him that are starting to bother me. I think the writer will wrap it all up in a harmonized way for all, but we may be in for a messy story to come :s
I don't know but I think RXZ loves his wife very much even though he hadn't shown it...I just feel he is a reserved…
I hope that is the case too, the way this show is written sometimes they hint to certain things and then take them in a completely different direction haha!
I think he loves his family as well, but he really struggles to show it. His relationship with his wife I think is amiable but she sacrifices a lot for him, I am a bit more on the fence about how much he loves her. So far i've seen that he's fond of her and they have a good companionship. I don't think he would cheat, thats not his personality. But he shouldn't even be excited to see his first love in my opinion if he truly respected his family (but maybe its building to a larger story as you mentioned).
Your life is mine. Weather you are dead or alive you are mine 😱😱❤️❤️
Normally I would hate a line like this, but omg the way RTZ delivered it was so spot on. It wasn't overly clingy or controlling. It was perfect in the context it happened❤️❤️
im always up for trying new dramas but i noticed the rating is gradually going down, is the plot not interesting…
I agree with @reset about the TCM/WM dialogue being overly simplistic. They don't also talk about how they can and should be complimentary. LOL and yes there is also a decent amount of patronizing dialogue. There is also some really awesome quotes here and there. @NF212 very true - some subjects matter is handled very poorly.
My overall thoughts on rating is that I think a lot of people are waiting to rate until the drama is done. And also around the mid point of a drama some people drop it and also haters give it low ratings so that naturally brings the score down (mid point is usually when there is various conflicts being set up so it can be frustrating for people).
Overall I think its a satisfactory drama and very different. The actors are very good (esp the main ones). The plot and storyline maybe can be better at times but overall I've enjoyed the cinematography, music and the strong focus on family. Based on recent developments I am VERY excited to see how the story wraps up.
As a Lusi fan I am glad I got to see it because I think I got to see a side of her acting we haven't seen before. And for those wondering if romance has started - YES it has!!!! I have to admit having a love story always makes dramas more interesting for me haha. I am also now a new fan of Luo Yi Zhou.
Sorry to say this, but my observation is, if the woman chases the man, she runs the risk of always being the ‘giver’…
That's true :( - especially if the man 'compromised' something in order to be with her.
You make some very good observations there and you make an interesting point about his coldness towards his wife spilling over to his son. Maybe some of it also reflected in how one of his expectations in marrying her was to give birth to a prodigy and that hasn't come true (in his opinion).
I loved TT and RTZ story in these two episodes. To me their story and relationship feels so authentic and real and normal. There was so many moments between them that I loved in these two episodes. I loved how he confessed to her in the toilet (that is definitely going to remain unique haha). I love how he took care of her all night, I love how they set boundaries on who gets the final say over big matters vs small matters in their relationship (already so different from the dynamic between the grandparents and parents generation because the woman actually gets to have a say over big matters! lol).
Then watching them provide medical consultations to the village was so heartwarming. I truly think they are so compatible because they understand each other well, looks good together and genuinely care for each other. They also understand each other's work and is complimentary to that. They bring the best out in each other. I also like that TT is higher energy which RTZ is lower energy and calmer. They each need that in their lives. I see a very happy future together for them if they can overcome the obstacles to come.
About the dad... lol. I think the back story that i'm picking up is that he used to like Little Lark, and he ended up marrying his mentors daughter because it was a more prestigious match but I think his first love was Little Lark. LL clearly liked RXZ more than he liked her but they seem to overall have a good marriage, even though there is a bit of coldness there too (I think its RXZ taking LL for granted). I think LL deserves better.
Very sad at the outcome of the whole situation. I still feel like we got a very vague back story and from what I understand MM has depression and her parents putting undue pressure on her and expecting her to live and behave in a way that 'befetted' the mold they had in their mind obviously didn't help her. Mental illness is very serious, and people who are depressed needs proper treatment. I am glad the show put some attention to this topic that I think is very taboo in asian cultures but they handled it messily. What RTZ said was so true, no one could have saved MM but herself. But her parents form of love was also smothering her.
I was literally screaming at the end scene where RTX goes " By what time did you sleep last night" and TT goes…
I was thinking it might be when they both sneaked in last night from going to the skatepark, but I also found it funny how no one asked any questions lmao. They clearly know RTZ likes her and is avoiding the topic 😅😅
The grandma and mom both seem to have objections about TT or MM being a serious romantic contender for RTZ. Focusing on TT in particular, what's so bad about her?
She comes from a good lineage from what they say. Plus it's not her fault she's orphaned? .... Is it the lack of formal education?
Also towards the end of the latest episode I got the sense now his whole family kind of guesses he likes her.
I find it ironic that WSD used to like LL. But now he has no problem encouraging RXZ to go see his past crush or gf (little lark) while disrespecting LL....
