LL is such a danger to her son. She sees everyone’s faults but his, she indulges him, covers for him and cleans…
I don't have much issues with his mom, because many Asian moms are VERY lenient with their sons. I think she is overcompensating for how the dad treats RTZ by trying to keep him out of trouble with her husband as much as possible and to protect her son through his immature stage and raise him successfully into an adult.
When I see how tough his dad is on him, I'm actually glad he has his mom who shows him how valued he is. Because it's so hard for kids if they have no self esteem because they feel like they can't rely or depend on either parent. I think the mom and grandpa guides him a lot more gently and honestly he should be allowed to make mistakes and still have his family's love. The only time the mom really disappointed me was when she realized RTZ got TT drunk and she didn't do anything - like didn't even discipline him really (that was unethical).
I do have a lot of issues with the dad and how he treats both his son and wife. Its almost like as long as things are going well they are both in the good, and if either of them makes mistakes he is very tough on them. And if RTZ makes a mistake its always the moms fault, never the dads. He doesn't own up to his own faults or stubbornness. And he doesn't try to get to know his son or value him for all the positive traits RTZ has. He only puts undue pressure on him.
P.s I feel like she's tried to distance MM and RTZ but she didn't get enough support from the rest of her family on that.
I think RTZ has experienced a lot of character growth in a rather short span of time. He used to strike me as…
Yes you are right, I was thinking about this afterwards and I realized his personal growth so far has been a bit more subtle but its definitely there (in all the ways you described). and yes!!!! I felt so sorry for him too when he went looking for her after barely recovering and how he'd run around looking for her didn't get much of her attention.
Not much has happened to bring him and his father closer together yet, but I think maybe in the second half of the show that will come. I have some mixed thoughts about his dad though. He's a good person overall, but his attitude towards both his wife and son feels callous to me at times... even how he kicked out TT for the second time didn't sit right with me.
One other thing I am thinking about the stage RTZ and TT are at is that they are both afraid to ruin what they have by changing their relationship. Sometimes it's really enjoyable to be in a crush stage, whether you are both spending time together, flirting, wondering if the other person likes you, and is on the threshold of what is possible.
The moment you make things real, things can change and you might end up ruining what you already have. Or outside forces can end up ruining what you have. Right now they are spending time together everyday, enjoying each others company - for two people who like each other that is already a great place to be at.
lol…oh my gosh. I was literally just going to say that. 😂 I feel like people are gaslighting me into thinking…
I think he didn't deny it because he's teasing her lol, its the first scene where we've gotten to see her show him that she might care if he's dating MM and he's doing the same thing to her that his dad does to the mom lol!🥴
If one day they're dating I hope they should show us when and how do they fall in love? Cause now I'm not convinced…
I don't think we will see that in the usual sense. I think in this drama romance is going to be very subtle and secondary (plus theres so many time jumps). In future episodes I think we will get more direct scenes of them but for those of us who are Lusi fans wanting more romance I think we will have to wait for Hidden Love T.T
Why worried about MM? Sorry this drama has been so frustrating from the get go so I like being prepared before…
Today's episode showed her looking at her phone and seeming very stressed and scared. She was going to talk to RTZ but hesitated and didn't. I think theres some sort of backstory going on with her that is a bit concerning that she hasn't told anyone about.
Now TT and RTZ are giving chaotic girlfriend and calm boyfriend to be vibes lol! - I thought the skatepark scene was so funny and cute. I love how he knows her so well, and I love how innocent and gullible she is. Tough exterior, but warm and gooey interior is what TT is.
I'm a bit surprised we haven't seen more RTZ character development yet. And I am worried about MM. So happy for them that the new TCM centre opened :D!!!
Ep. 23 had a few highlights for me. - I was very glad to see TT working hard and apply herself to learning theoretical…
Maybe she also finds MM too dependent on her son? Usually traditional moms look for girls that can take care of their sons and run a household, raise children, be a good representation of the family etc. (her mental health condition may be why she thinks MM wouldn't be suitable)
Also she's said in the past "I am not choosing my daughter in law, I am choosing my future grand children's mom" - which I thought to be a really interesting line
I think there is potential, but nothing has been explicitly pointing to that. MM, RTZ and TT is one possible option and the other is, RTZ, TT and the chairman's son.
Thoughts around the last few episodes, with work and school being so busy atm I skipped some scenes (will go back and rewatch over the weekend).
I don't have much to add to the discussion really. I also thought the New Year scene was very wholesome <3. Loved the family as a whole, and TT and RTZ knowtowing to elders was so funny. TT is a good influence on RTZ.
I can see hints of a set up for a romance being trickle fed to us, purely though the strength of TT and RTZ's relationship (they spend a lot of time together, tease each other, can stand up to each other, and also seem to now be partners in crime). I was glad when they included the scene where TT mentioned she thinks that RTZ likes MM because at this point I didn't have a lot of context to whats going on in either of their minds. I also wouldn't have picked up on the cultural pressures of TT not feeling good enough from a status perspective to RTZ without that convo. I heard that Weibo has an account for each character with added perspectives to give more POV (and on twitter I saw some of MM's perspectives translated about TT and they were so cute -> mainly about how she felt safe when TT is there at the house and how when the last time TT got kicked out her bubbly personality was markedly missed in the household).
I also like the side stories ramping up both medically and the romances. I saw a comment a while back that someone said in the early part of the story it seemed that it was TT that needed the most development/growth but now it's becoming apparent its RTZ, the master, and Rebecca that needs that at least in my opinion.
One side comment that made me a bit uncomfortable of this drama initially is the traditional gender roles being so strictly enforced. Like how the mom always defers to the dad, is nervous around him, caters to him -> I don't see that being reciprocated. I've seen K and C dramas moving away from this so I was a bit surprised to see that here. Also annoys me how the master calls RTZ "your son" to the mom lol.
- I thought RTZ was going to crash off a cliff b/c of the amount of times he stared at TT through the rearview mirror - I think there was a time jump right?(that would explain why RTZ looks at TT differently now and seems to care more) - Wish we were getting more TCM scenes with explanations tied in - LOL at TT's laundry scene with the master - TT can be a great property manager haha - she's so great with people - wow Rebecca had a breakthrough! - I LOVE gardening and enjoy all the scenes with plants in this show - I really like the moms character, every time she smiles its so warm - :o the new guy is so handsome!!!

Is there only 1 episode today :(?

As conflicted as I am about MM's role in the show - I want her to be okay and get the help she needs.
