Okay so the steamiest kiss scene in that drama was actually cut, but if you google it there are clips on YouTube. You should give it a chance, hahaha I really came to like Lin Shen in that. It was a cute drama, it was the first one I watched of her after being introduced to her in TLB and the two leads had good chemistry (nothing like her and WL but it was still good) and there was a lot of comedic moments. Plus i'm a sucker for shows about cooking.

This should be recent as this drama is filming now. It has the same director as Dating in the Kitchen (so that explains the steamy scenes :p)

I think since he's technically consort Yue's soulmate and those two probably want to meet again in the next life, it was her way of conceding and gracefully bowing out. She may not have wanted to come across as coveting what was someone else's, but instead wished for her very own soulmate in the next life?

Is it weird that the part when you said "had he been given a choice, I think he would have stayed in the capital" made me really feel for him. I think that makes me appreciate his suffering in those 5 years more and maybe understand his sense of hopelessness perhaps. It also made my heart melt a little. I think this is the fascinating part of this story. There is endless opportunity to think about the plot development.

I wonder if its the editing from having to reduce 66 episodes to 57? I mean if all the material was already filmed it would be so hard to adjust the script after the fact right?

With how quickly the drama went over some things I forgot he didn't choose to go to the boarder to atone, but was actually banished there for 6 years. (like a mixture of choice/punishment).

Poor CSS. I totally understand why she was weary of him after that as well as his intentions.

I agree she definitely made his entire existence about revenge and constantly flamed this idea that he needs to avenge the lives of the Hua clan. He would have been shaped (brainwashed even) as a child towards this goal/purpose. It's very tragic. She was a very selfish character because the one person who could have helped him find peace, acceptance and the ability to live freely and let go of all this was her. I too sympathize with her trauma and mental illness, but during her moments of lucidity also she didn't show compassion or love.

2) Theres been some REALLY good discussions on the bronze mirror topic on this page. But I think you might have to dig a lot to find them. My understanding is that it is a love token, but also something people are buried with (often lovers are buried with one half of the mirror each). It also keeps away evil and encourages self reflection. HBY giving it to LJT as a dowry gift to marry someone else signifies that he thinks of her not romantically but he's encouraging her to find someone else and he is even giving her a dowry to do so (aligning him more as a family member) than a lover. Its embarassing because she's been going around saying he's going to marry her lol
