Why did Buyi said he’s not regretful when the empress asked?
I thought and this is a bit of a stretch, that he said that even though he had regrets because he wanted to let her go (he didn't regret the revenge, but he regretted losing her). He thought if he let her go perhaps that she could lead a better life without him, with someone who didn't betray her and where abandonment didn't taint their relationship?
But the minute she ended their relationship you could tell he wasn't okay. I think 5 years later he saw they both couldn't let go and they both still loved each other - so despite maybe thinking he didn't deserve her forgiveness he still gained the courage to ask for her back.
Expectations vs reality lol: https://twitter.com/dramapotatoe/status/1561550533793615873?s=21&t=-S1pl36Yh881V7gDG8NWKQ
I just find it funny because even though WL is young, he can be very reserved for his age, but she draws him out of his shell🥹. I love seeing that and them having fun together.
Does anyone know who was that guy that Qing Cong married?? I can't place him at All!!!
The most bizarre thing was, in the first few episodes when she interjected on him getting abused by his first wife, along with CSS's mom, I thought I detected chemistry between them. And then I was like nah, don't be crazy - you are imagining things and then when I saw the wedding scene I was so surprised/happy.
So many amazing points by everyone, and thank you WindBlows for adding where she got sick in the drama! About…
You are right - ah now with all this joint analysis I'm ready to rewatch the episodes this week :D !! Plus I had no idea he was actually sentenced to go away for 6 years. Lol I somehow missed that part😅
I am wondering about the LJT as villain part. While I was rewatching the carriage abduction, HBY's pursuit and…
Was it a key part of the book? (from what I heard they tried to stay true to the books story as much as possible - but when its cramped into 10 less episodes than their original script its awkward.... lol)
I saw lots of chatter on Twitter about how LJT will feature in the drama and I'm curious if it was true to the book or not. Or if things were even worse in the book.
But I agree with you, it was too much for me and felt unnecessary.
Agreed separation was too long. Why did no one summon him to the capital before????God so much heartache could…
Oh I totally missed that there was a time sentence to his punishment! Thank you for adding that, that gives me more to think about in terms of how I think about their separation.
But if the emperor forgave him, do you know why his sentence was so long? Was it because of what the palace aides advice? or to show that he wasn't getting away with this just because he's favoured by the royal family?
Yea it is quite similar to The Story of Ming Lan…. But like a newer version… or like upgraded version with…
Yeah same author :)!!!
I heard they met on the set of Monkey King 3! Maybe they got reacquainted when filming this drama?
I will definitely check out that drama, after I take a break to get over LLTG. Right now I'm too attached to it and need some time before I can appreciate anything else lol

The Empress's children:
- The Crown Prince (married to the Crown Princess)
- The Fifth Princess (with all the advisors)
The Consort:
- The Third Prince
- The Second Princess (Married)
- The Third Princess (Married)
Palace Maid & King:
- The Fifth Prince (Married)
Lord and Lady Royung's (the emperors uncle) granddaughter is the Princess that wants to marry LBY. I always forget her name.
They also mentioned there is a few children that had died along the way.
