Only some can watch it ahead. You have to pay extra. I can't so will go along with it's original release. ♥
I have paid extra and the express episodes are all available on my phone app (that was how they released it) . But today there are some VIP members who have access to all the episodes I assume on the desktop app.
I only have up to 50 with VIP + Express Pass on the desktop app (I want them all on there because I want to rewatch them on the big screen) lol
For those of you who struggled to follow the English subtitles of CSS's convo with the third prince in the long corridor (like myself) here is a translated snippet from the book by Orichan on Twitter. I had a much easier time following this.
This whole thread has many great translated moments from the book (some of which are not in the drama) - so proceed on reading other parts with caution and the reminder there may be spoilers.
The SS string being the thing that kept him anchored from falling off the cliff is so poetic and symbolic. Just like the rabbit guard protector CSS made for him that blocked that sword to his chest.
Even when she's not there she is thinking of him and saving him.
how come here it's saying it's finishing airing on 8/18 but tencent and wetv is only up to episode 50. where can…
I saw comments below that some VIP users now have access to all 56 episodes. I also only have accesss to 50 on the desktop app (and I have the express pass). I think this is an example of WeTV's inconsistency in releasing of stuff based on regions. It should show up on our accounts eventually, they just have a weird roll out for these things
He literally went to border in one episode and back in next one, but they will back together couple episodes later.
The potential of an engagement lasts like an episode, but they don't officially get engaged. I would say that part is almost completely taken out of the drama.
The army was used to blocked people for getting into Ling residence. (the army Cheng family had fight with)
Ohhhhh right! Thank you! I thought the military was creating a blocade because they heard that Zisheng was at the Marqueses's house and trouble was going down, not the other way around.
I think because he didn't want use his black armor army for his personal revenge, and also to reveal that CP incompetent
Thank you! And were the soldiers who killed the Ling clan along with HBY, Ah Fei and Ah Qui from the imperial army? I guess that is why they weren't dressed in black.
I'm still piecing things together since last week. One part I was confused about was the whole Tiger Seal thing. Because everyone keeps talking about how Zeshan deployed the army, yet the army is not involved in the revenge plot.
So am I correct in understanding when he went forward with the revenge he was ready to die, and his final acts were to kill the Ling clan and to deploy the army using the tiger seal he recovered for no reason other than to reveal the fact that the crown prince is incompetent and lost the seal so that he would be deposed and the Third Prince will be crowned?
Starting a new replay because you are right the box is getting narrow haha :D. I just rewatched some of these…
So I just noticed when rewatching the translation of her sentence when she was responding to the third prince when he said "CSS sorry to dissapoint you" has been changed to "It's good to hear he's not dead yet"
Last week I think it was mistranslated to "Oh, he's not dead yet?" - which I also found super weird and cold.
But why did the third prince say sorry to disappoint you? Almost like she would have wished him dead?
Ohhhhh man this drama!!!!! I watched the Express episodes last week and now watching again with VIP release. Its interesting to me how each time I rewatch this show I take away more and more.
When I first watched the massacre last week, I was in shock even though I knew it was happening. I was crying a lot and feeling a lot of grief. When I watched it today, I felt all that but also a sense of betrayal. Almost as if how could HBY just throw his life away like that? His life is important and meaningful. He deserved to live a good life and find happiness after all he went through. Yes yes, I know he had PTSD from his trauma and needed to avenge his clan.
Lastly the cliff scene.... I want to go beat him up when he says to CSS our fate is over and to live well. How can she live well, how can the emperor live well, or your guards or even the third prince who all care about you so much? I feel like the cliff scene was the second last blow to their relationship (other than the one other key scene coming up with the Empress). Because in the cliff scene it was clear that he refused to think of any outcome that included a joint solution with CSS. I was trying to figure out how it could have been saved at that point. I feel like even if he surrendered that general was trying to kill him without even taking him to the king. So his only escape did seem like jumping over the cliff, but if he hadn't told CSS their fate was over, he would have been rescued and then they would have resolved the issue as they go on to do. I guess he told her it was over because he thought he was going to die and he didn't want her to mourn him for too long and move on?
Why did he have to hurt her this much. They swore an oath when they did that biting thing. I just don't understand. I get his good intentions, but I also think that when you give your heart completely to someone and when you are about to be married you are agreeing to share your burdens and joys. So he didn't honor the basic requirements of a marriage - to be honest with each other and to be there for each other through pain, illness, joy, health, conflict etc. until death do us part.
Guys... I need some motivation to continue watching this drama... I just loved this drama till 46th ep.. But I'm…
It is a lot of angst and sadness to work through, but I found it worth while to see how they both did without each other (I think that reinforces even more how much they love each other).
Plus after what happens in episode 48 - its nice to see them find their way back to each other. As another viewer mentioned below, their acting especially (WL's) towards those last episodes is really something worth watching.
No the emperor didn't love her... he respects her because she is gracious and a woman of integrity.
Agreed I also think he loved her, more of a companionship love than passionate/romantic love. But both very impactful.
With the amount of hardship I'm sure he weathered with the Empress it would be hard not to love and respect her. Plus she is such a generous person. If he hadn't already met Consort Yue but had married the Empress as part of an arranged marriage, I'm sure he would have loved her more completely.
Which ep does the queen die i only watched the trailers so can u tell me why the queen starts to hate CSS and…
Okay :)
I believe the Empress dies on episode 53. She never hated CSS at any point of the story. Empress is the one person that always stood by her.
During the Empress's birthday banquet, the Fifth Princess was bullying CSS and even staged an encounter and spread a rumour saying CSS is having an affair with the fifth prince. CSS gets her revenge on the Fifth Princess, and the Fifth Princess tried to get CSS in trouble for that, but thats when everything about how she's been bullying CSS comes out. The Empress asks the Fifth Princess to be sent away for isolation.
LBY gets revenge on all the girls families that helped the Fifth Princess bully CSS. This gets him into a bit of trouble but its not serious. The King punishes him for his actions but he mainly does it so CSS feels sorry for LBY and then takes care of him lol.
I just find it funny because even though WL is young, he can be very reserved for his age, but she draws him out…
I guess I haven't seen him this casual with a female costar before, I have seen him in variety shows etc. being extremely funny and easy going. But i'm glad to hear that! :)

That makes sense.

I think he has those eyes, where whoever he looks at seems like the center of the universe lol
