Depends on how you look at it. The novel it's based on is BL but the drama itself is censored so the love between the main characters is platonic and to me it looks more like a strong bromance than romance. You can't miss the feelings they have for each other but there is no kissing or anything of the sort. Their relationship is portrayed beautifully and it's more believable than many romantic relationships we see on the screen tho, IMO. When it comes to side characters there is some romance but it's not the focus of this drama.
It's a good drama. Some things didn't make sense but in the end they wrapped it up nicely and it was an enjoyable watch so I can't complain too much. I like the whole cast & the characters were likable but I'm still salty about the ending some of them got >.<. It would be an 8 but the whole military setting (big fan!) and Jang Dong Yoon are the reason I gave it 8.5.
Hm, I like the ending. It's kinda bittersweet. If you already like the drama I would suggest you keep watching it until the end, it may be 'tragic' but it's also satisfying in a way.
I just finished watching the Special Edition and it made me appreciate the original arrangement of episodes even more. It felt weird watching the Mo Manor incident right after seeing WWX fall off a cliff. Seeing him waking up next to LWJ 16 years later, after the cliff scene, felt so much more comforting and I don't really know how to explain it but it just looked and felt better. Also, seeing that opening scene of WWX's ending in the original version just makes you even more interested to see what happens to him and how he gets where he gets. Transition from the past to the present somehow feels flat when watched chronologically.
Not really sure what you mean by that but if it's about the flow of a story I think it's pretty concise. Things…
Oh, I see. Well, I don't think that would be an issue here. The only thing they didn't show is the process of how Wolfie became Lord Bo (time skip) but from what I remember everything else they talked about was shown.
As for the release date, I wouldn't hold it against them. There's nothing they could've done against the censorship, it's China after all. I think the final result is pretty good considering how much they had to change and if I didn't know they had to cut a lot I wouldn't have noticed it while watching.
That being said, I can't claim you'll like the drama but I think you should give it a try and judge on your own. From what I've seen here opinions go from absolutely hating it to absolutely loving it XD
Can anyone tell me about the story is complete or Jumping Scene(scene That the event happen suddenly )? hesitate…
Not really sure what you mean by that but if it's about the flow of a story I think it's pretty concise. Things flow nicely and it's not confusing, the ending is also not open so everything gets solved in the end.
To be honest I read it 5-6 years ago so I forgot most of it, or at least some specific details, but I remember that there weren't many characters and it was mostly about the magician and the high school girl that meets him one day in an abandoned theme park. It's a story about what it means to be an adult and what changes throughout the process of growing up. From what I remember it was pretty deep and philosophical in a way that makes you think about life. It was also sad. I found a good (long) review of the manga so you can read it for more details if you're interested: https://myanimelist.net/reviews.php?id=162477
Just watched episode 1, interesting so far but the main character is hella annoying. Does this change?
He's pretending to be a lunatic in the first episode so he does change later on (if that's what you found annoying). He'll stay cheeky for a while but the character does go through some drastic changes later.
I've been reading the comments for a while now...and there's none that really convinces me to bother watching…
It really depends on what you like/dislike when it comes to dramas. This doesn't have an interesting/intricate political plot. Its main focus is on the relationship between the two leads. There is a lot of misunderstandings between them and they go back and forth between being friends/lovers and enemies but if you manage to watch it until the end it has a satisfying conclusion. There is also a love triangle but the SML doesn't end up being abandoned and miserable, he gets a happy ending.
Hi, is it true that we can't vote for Xiao Zhan on Weibo King ? If it was true.. why ?
From what I've seen on twitter fans don't want to vote because if he wins they'll review the hot search terms and we all know how this year went for him regarding that and how active antis were. I guess XFXs are just worried and don't want to risk + some other fandoms also decided not to vote. I think XZ is still winning so not everyone is following that advice I guess.
What a bittersweet ending! I got spoiled when the drama first aired so I knew what was going to happen but the execution was beautiful. Their relationship ended in tragedy but I think it's the most fitting outcome. They still stayed together until the end T_T I like how they told us what happened to the supporting characters as well. All in all it's a beautiful conclusion!
I'm so confused. Didn't this have 40 episodes or did I see some other drama with the similar name? Also, can I watch this without watching the prequels?
When it comes to side characters there is some romance but it's not the focus of this drama.
