Like, them being so depressed about the "humiliation" after so many people literally being tortured and killed, that's a black comedy or some shit. But I also love these scenes. Because it's so real. How people with power are completely detached from normal life, how their worst scenerio is often the best scenerio for normal people.

Guys, I just love the female solidarity in this one so much. Them showing all the scenes of women surviving and supporting each other - best.

I got so attached to the characters I am crying watching Eun Ae cry about her father's death, even tho i have no recollection of who the father is. But her pain alone is enough.

Them weak bitches that did nothing getting all the honors, claiming the accomplishments of Jang Hyun, while he wakes up alone half alive in the forest after basically single handedly ending the fucking war. This show does such an amazing job in showcasing the inequality of class and gender, and also how willing one is to follow the social quotas... It makes your blood boil, but it also makes you think, and that's what a good drama should do. Did Jang Hyun get any credit? No. Did the women who also saved the little baby prince get any credit? No.

Love how they pay attention to the details about how men and women are affected by the war in a different way. How they make sure to show women were not killed, but captured. In most dramas like in scenes like everyone just dies.

I know right! Often the over the top not fitting reactions takes me completely out of the story and i just laugh. But here because it's so subtle it hits you harder

The fluff was fun and all, but it's true the drama truly shines during the "angst". Still, the fluff was 200% necessary for the plot...

I think he is trash, but to be fair... they threatened his mother, and with how the actually bad guys behaved it's basically - you bring your money or your mother ☠️ You'd be surprised how many people would do worse things than he is doing to protect their family.

not sure what's the comment about. Park Hae Jin could have done more convincing role delivering said line of challenging the geatal, he is capable of that with his skills. It Felt like they just went with the first take and did not bother to try it a few more time to get THE shot

Overall... so much shit happens and somehow I feel nothing. I am far more entertained by the teens in high school and creepy teacher than the official investigation part of it. Everything just seems... a bit too all over the place.

Or his dad, hence the whole - no issue if he hears all the discussions. But somehow I feel like Han Jae Min might be related, or even the boss himself 🤡

Well, episode 1 was all over the place and not really that attention gripping. A lot of dramatic shit happened, but since I don't know nor care for the characters yet, I went ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. And with episode 2, I truly started to question the set up and if it even mixes well with the rest of the themes in the show.

Episode 2 was a great improvement, and it made me dislike episode 1 even more 🙃 I kept thinking how it could have been a truly well pace slice of life with some hard hitting themes if it was not for the straight out of fanfic dramatized plot of why ML had to look for FL. Especially since they could have easily make it happen without it. The baseball player friend would be enough.

As I said tho, episode 2 was great. I am actually quite interested in both female lead AND Han Ah Reum (her probably even more at the moment). Han Jae Min seems shady and not just because he seem like a player.

Lee Sang Yeob and Kim So Hye have great on screen chemistry, and while I usually don't scream for romance in shows like that, here it feels just right and would be one of the aspects I'd enjoy a lot. Yes, the age gap is big (both characters and actors. Sang Yeob in 83' liner, and So Hye 99'), but with some good writing this can happen and not be weird.

The thing is, if ML is really dead, i don't think they would try to hard to find info about him. I think the whole deal is they don't know where he is, or if he is alive, but they know he is dangerous.

episodes 1-2 are needed set up for the context and the characters, their underlying motivations and possible skills. Then episodes 3-4 is when the true story starts and we get a better grasp of what to expect from the show overall.
