Review Star Struck
The missing scenes were especially evident in last two episodes. Damn the characters literally did not even talk about many important issues and plot lines at all...

To all the people who pointed out how far away from each other the characters are in the poster - you were right 🀣 Damn, now even 2gether's hi5 seems romantic and affectionate.

Not gonna lie, loved the first half and all the not realized jealously going on and the low-key angst and conflicts and misunderstandings built on that. But then the 2nd half was just a massive mess. Last two episodes? Laughable 🀑

I made an account just to write this: that was so awful. I don’t even believe yoojae liked hanjoon romantically,…
My favorite part was when they did not even talk about Han Joon's mother being sick, as if it's not a huge deal πŸ™ƒ They did not plan the pacing well so we got close to no explanations and conclusions for anything...

I mean... he is less of an asshole than FL 🀣 now that I think about it... Han Moo Young is the only one with any sense of personal space and respect towards others and their boundaries πŸ™ƒ

What do you all think of Go Yo Han - the probation officer?I wonder what that woman means telling him to keep…
I think Yo Han's family is involved with the foundation/school Ro Um was kept in, but he himself want a way out and does not want to be part of the "bossiness". His mother wants to make him see where he belongs, but he wants to go his own way.

when the scammer gets scammed...

and the good guy is not top. There is one thing this show for sure does really well - present a highly empathic person as a strong, smart and collected one, instead of emotional mess who cannot handle any situation. I truly appreciate this representation. Han Moo Young for me is the most interesting character - someone who knows their flaw and how it might affect their live, really self-aware and honest.

While Lee Ro Um is fun to watch, I'm wary and not fully convinced. I'm not sure what she is supposed to be and I'm scared we will get yet another "psychopath, but not really, because they can be cured" deal.

Plot wise we still explored the context and the set up, and the true main story will only start from episode 5. The short cases they dealt with so far were rather simplistic, but they did what they were supposed to do - showcase the characters personalities, ways of dealing with issues and morals. Now they will start the power struggle - who will lead and whose idea of justice will be the one they will strive to achieve.

As for Yohan - I think he is "involved" with the foundation, but just by the family ties, and he does not work for it, he wants out. He is from rich family and his mother want him to know his place so it's obvious they are not on the same side and see things differently. So there is still hope he won't be an asshole. It's probably his family being involved, while him trying to go his own way.

Mo Jae In is still confusing as fuck. They better start explaining/hinting what her deal is next episode, because so far, there is nothing interesting about her character. Keeping her a whole as mystery does not work, because she is so boring I'm not even curious what her deal is anymore.

What got me confused this ep:
When Yo Han said Ro Um is much younger than Moo Young. She is not... they were close age when they were kids πŸ˜…

More of the supporting characters, Mo Jae In still stays as a mystery 😢
As for now, I fail to see how she fits into the picture, but with 16 episodes, I'm sure she will play rather significant role.

Love the dynamics between the characters (especially Ro Um and Yo Han) and I'm rather curious about the past case and explanation about the foundation Lee Ro Um was in, I cannot say the same about the side cases the leads get themselves involved in.

Breaking the 4th wall still annoys me πŸ™ƒ it just always feels extremely out of place.
Personally I prefer the more serious scenes, compared the comedic bits, especially these more "in your face".

Yoon Park cute as always.

I just finished watching ep 7 and wth? Ayaka suddenly gets a change of character? Like is it similar to the manga?…
I was pissed when she said she trusted him. There is a difference between saying: I trust he would not do this one specific thing based on what I know about him, and saying you trust someone overall. Whenever he raped her or not, the fact got her to the hotel and tried to convince her they slept together is a perfect reason to not trust him as a person. She was high on something to say she trust him.

Binged first 2 eps! so good! Just saw the last trailer and what a turn! Looks like there's gonna be a heist. It's…
i think if they did not include the childhood connection, it would make no sense for ML to get so involved. The only reason he decided to help her is the fact he knew her in the past and he does not fully believe she is a "lost cause" that can't get better. Otherwise, without said past connection, I don't think he would bother helping her to this extend. He would probably take the advice of his psychiatrist and stay away from her.

it was also gently inspiring without overstepping into preachiness. < this is one of the reasons I loved it, it left room for personal interpretations.

That's so fucking cruel I cannot. Like sure, Yoo Jae was shows as rather egocentric person from the start, but he was always able to recognize that and apologize, but THIS MOVE WAS JUST ON A WHOLE NEW LEVEL OF BEING A DICK.

"You're refusing my touch now" ah yes, that's so straight of you to say Yoo Jae 🀑
Am I surprised by the "kiss" on the wide shot? no.
Am I disappointed? Fuck yeah.

I mean... pretty sure she is not suppose to be a genius, just have photographic memory. It's not the same. Also…
Well... yes and no. 180 IQ tells you close to nothing. It tells you some of her cognitive skills a far above average, but unless you know with which test she was tested, you don't even know which skills. Not to mention I highly doubt any IQ test was validated for people with photographic memory, so I would question the results anyway (majority of tests strongly depend on memory side of it).

It's also fair to assume she was tested only as a child, and these test IF they even measure any social skills, norms and awareness, are fitted for social situations kids are in and are not representative in terms of how said skills will develop later.

ALL that said... the show is painfully unrealistic and they do not care about consistency at all. For example, she got all curious about phone and was checking all the apps, but knew how everything works in casino (pretty sure shit would change in 10 years she was in prison).

If she was smarted she would not need anyone's help tho.
ML would become useless and Go Yo Han would be gone after episode 2 because she would deal with him. Also, since everyone else is a "normal" person, not as smart, the show would end in like 4 episodes. We need to see her fail few times and get help from others to fill these 16 episodes. The drama is only interesting if the good and bad guys are on a similar level.

The fl is supposed to be SMART.Then why the hell she carries her big and very sus looking money bag, with her,…
I mean... pretty sure she is not suppose to be a genius, just have photographic memory. It's not the same. Also her having said skil and antisocial tendencies is exactly the reason she is so careless. People like that think they are invincible and can do anything they want and get out of any issues. It does not really cross their mind they might fail. This is also why most psychopaths that gets caught gets caught - they acted careless because they thought they are more capable than they truly are.

An episode that mixes fictional drama with documentary?

Surprisingly good mix. I could sense how proud Koreans are about their bread and bakeries. I also liked how this time Park Ha Kyung was not the main character, but rather joined us as a viewer and the focus shifted to a little adorable girl and her search for the bread. Soft and relaxing story. I appreciated the dramas take on a controlled freedom of kids - teaching them how to be proactive and responsible while make sure they are safe.

[episode 6]

Rather than a specific topic, this episode made me think about different issues with simple lines of dialogues and scenes. How we are so used to working, it's not off limit to work even on our days off. How we are never fully sure if we are doing a good job. If our good intentions and good deeds always have positive effects of people we want to help. How adults never consider the happiness of the youth, but rather the plans they made for their "good future". Small questions that can lead to hours of reflections.

[episode 5]

"The search for new knowledge will always continue"

And the time to try something new will never pass. Another great episodes I related to. Sometimes it feels like you should not enjoy life and have fun if you are an adult - everything is not appropriate for your age. There are many social norms and everyone has a clear picture of what a "typical" adult looks like and how they behave. But no one is truly "typical" in all areas of their lives, and it's fine to step out of the line. You are never to old to seek happiness. And sometimes happiness comes to us when we forget the plans, norms and give into contingency.
